India Today Book Club — Not received the promised product

Hello Sir, this is a complaint against the organization 'India Today Book Club'. This company lures the customers by promising free gifts but in reality they never send any gift.

I ordered a CD pack that had a free reebok bag associated with it. I ordered this in Nov 09 and received the CD in Dec 09. But I did not received any bag. I called customer care[protected] in Dec, Jan, Feb and March but they would always tell me that the bag was out of stock and that i will have to wait 15-21days before they dispatch it. Its been 4 months and they are still saying the same thing.

I believe this is absolute fraud and want you to take action against this company. Please register my complaint.

India Today Book Club — Non receipt of order paid in advance

I had ordered 2 Home Theater Systems and 2 LCD TVs'(32") offered to me on my mobile by the agent Mr. Ajay and supervisor Mr. Arjun from phone no.[protected]. I made advance payment through 2 credit cards. But I have received only one sub-standard Home Theater System and nothing else.Now, their helpdesk is not responding to my frantic efforts. I am afraid I have been cheated by a reputed brand. Can you please help me in getting out of this mess?

i have placed my order for a holiday package and a DVD player worth Rs.3498 with India Today Book Club on 27th November 2009 and i have not received any parcel from them till date; i.e 17th March 2010
i have been following up with them on this since november and they have just been giving false dates of delivery
my money has already been deducted from my credit card
calling them has not helped at all
kindly help in getting my money back or getting me the package atleast

India Today Book Club — Faulty Products

India Today Book club called me and offered me Phlips Home theater system . After remitting the money they have sent the product after two months. When i checked i found that the DVD player has no USB port as per the description of the tele caller. When i contacted them they told me they have no such products and if i am not satisfied i may return it by courier. When i asked them for reimbursement of courier charges and asked them to give in writing to refund all my money an dcourier charges without any deduction, they denied to give it in witing saying that it is against the company's policy. They are simply cheating people . Inspite of my repeated mailing they have not replied properly. As all the deal was done through mobile phone and credit card i have no prove with me that the telecaller had promised me Home theater system with USB so icannot go to consumer court. plz suggest what to do?i am not ready bear the loss .

India Today Book Club — free gift not received

I have ordered for reebok track suit and a watch with white dial for Rs.1298.00 which includes shipping charges.for this order i was promised a free gift of a reebok leather wallet+ key chain for which i was asked to logon to www.bookstoday.in/promos.html and give the unique number printed on invoice No. ORA[protected] DATED 26.02.2010 but the said website say that i have made an in correct entry. i informed the same to the customer care but nothing has been done. it is nothing but india today book club is cheating its customer giving false promises.

India Today Book Club — ASSURED PRIZE NOT RECEIVED

i was assured a cash prize of 20,000 rs under some sweepstake program of ITBC for which i had to buy something...i made a purchase of mobile phone with order no[protected] dated 04/03/2010...now their executive says there is no such program or prize...this is a fraud being done by ITBC...nobody should buy anything from ITBC...govt must check such companies...they r openly doing fraud...
After continuous follow up with the ITBC top management thru email, I finally got a refund of the amount paid, only after they made me return the set of 12 books.
However, they were kind enough to send me a wrist watch as a small compensation for the harassment I was subjected to.
But I still advise everyone to stay away from such fraud offers to avoid mental harassment.

as stated earlier, i purchased a Philips home theater system from India Today book club which i received after 2months of ordering. On receipt of the material i found that the specification of the Home theater system was not as per the specification given by the telecaller. The DVD player was not provided with USB port as told by the telecaller. When i inquired with customer care they have told they don't have such product and told me to return the material if not satisfied. When i requested them to give me writing that my enetire money along with the courier charges which i have to bear for sending the material will be returned within 10days of receipt of the material at there end. They have not given me in writing but tried to just play hide and seek game to harash me. Evene after loging the complaint here also they are doing the same thing. what to do? plz help me my transaction id is[protected]. They are not in a mood to return back my money. India today book club the biggest cheater now. They are simply trying to make people fool just by calling them on there ,obile promising them that they will win gran prize of some lakhs but they have to purchase from them. All the tarnsaction are done through credit card so the consumer has no prrof for the same. I request everybody not purchase a single thing from such groups. Simply they try to play with people's sentiment and grab money. If we send complain by mail then they knowingly reply the mail ackwardly. You ask somthing and they will rely somthing . This is there policy because they know that by this process the customer will get fed up with them and remain as it is. This the trend they are adopting for the business. It should be shown in some news channel so that all the people should aware of this type of cheatings. I am alo going to send this matter to channels like IBN, ZEE news, Star news and CNBC awaz so that more and more people will know and this type cheating can be stopped. India Today Book Club — Membership number ITBC09902318 - False promise of Rs.10000/- Cash Back

This is regarding an order placed me ( Order Number[protected] for Samsung Superb. I received a call from Mr.Syed of India Today Book Club from Number[protected] . He promised and confirmed me on phone that there will be a lucky draw on 31st March 2010 and I will be part of Sweepstakes of 60 Lakhs. Along with that he confirmed that I am confirmed winner of consolation prize of INR 10,000/- and he was enquiring about my bank account name for preparing cheque.

He also confirmed that I will be getting this as Demand Draft / Cash or Cheque which ever I prefer..

But to shock of my life when I called[protected] I came to know that there is no Cash Back or anything on my purchase and the order placed will only be delivered within 10 working days and they confirmed on mail also that they are not giving cash back, on 19th March.

On 20th March 2010 they confirmed that the order is cancelled on my request and they will be refunding the money. (this also in writing on mail).

On 22nd March they confirmed that the refund will be thru a CHARGE BACK and will be credited to my credit card a/c.

After vigorous follow up on 27th March they confirmed that the Charge Back and refund will not happen because the order is fully processed and same is dispatched.

Their permanent lines on mail are "We value our customer and trust that you enjoy our products.Your valuable association with the India Today Book Club means a lot to us.Assure you of our best possible services always. - which never happens.

India Today Book Club — NON RECEIPT OF HOLIDAY VOUCHER AND AIR LINE TICKET

I had placed 3 orders for Kodak camera ,phillips DVD player, and Samsung mobile which promised Free one way air line ticket & and a holiday voucher/coupon for 3days/2nights stay with meals for a couple for Rs.2499/- (incl. Rs.500/-) handling charges and Rs 5000 discounted Diamond Jewellery Voucher on 9th November and 13 november 2009. I have received the Camera, DVD player and Phone but not the holiday voucher, diamond voucher and airline tickets for all the 3 orders as mentioned. Instead the Invoice mentions that to claim the free holiday voucher gift we have to log on to www.bookstoday.in/promos.htm within 60days of the invoice date but to my surprise the said site does not exist. When the remittance was already credited to India Today Book Club, why the Holiday Voucher was not send alongwith the products ordered. In this scenario, if you are not able to log on to the site, one is sure to lose the holiday voucher. diamond voucherand air line tickets This simply seems to be an a novel way of conning people into buying the products with free beeies and then abandon the customer with out giving the free gifts. There are already so many complaints against this company. Has the company ever thought how this in turn going to affect the reputation of the company? This is real white collared cheating.

Please note I Recevied only the Mobile Phone and when I Conteded the Web site for Diamound Voucher it says that voucher is only for Rs. 5000/- that way you may see, that your person has given wrong information of 20000/- which is not correct please give me the correct picture.
For Free Gifts when I Contected your site every time it says: Incorrect entry."
For this i have contected your office Number of Times, every time it was told that your Unique No. 97932525A[protected] is yet to be charged. I am still waiting for that.
