India Today Book Club — Non-Receipt of Refund

Hi,
please see the below mail exchange with India today, which promised speedy return of my refund. Till date (i.e almost 2 months) from the last email , i am yet to receive the refund.
PLEASE TAKE ALL NECESSARY ACTION, and ensure that India today, does not continue to do this with innocent customers.
They promise guaranteed money, and cannot even return the refund!!!
My trust in India today, has come down to a BIG ZERO.

India Today Book Club — Order procured by giving incomplete information

Beware of offers from India Today,
I got a telephone from India Today Book Club offering me a Samsung Camcoder and a Philips home theatre at discounted price. I was also told that I have won a gold box with which I can purchase jewellry of Rs. 2 lac for which I will get 40 vouchers of Rs. 5000/- each. I placed the order on 18.6.2010 and got the ordered items within time but the coupons have not been delivered to me yet. I have called the customere care no. twice. On 24.7.2010 when I asked their executive regarding redemption of the coupons I was informed that I can use only one coupon for one itme of purchase and I can not purchase any item which is priced below Rs. 8000/- which was never told to me at the time of booking my order. This coupon system is total fraud. Executive of these companies do not give full information just to procure the order. Please inform me if there is any forum where I can get relief. i placed an order on 15/6/10 of reebok laptop bag along with free wrist watch and a special gift of beneton bag after completing the payment by credit card and got the order no.[protected]. i recd the order on 26/7/10 after calling so many time to the call center of india today book club having only 2 articles in the box laptop bag and special gift of bebeton bag but not having the free gift wrist watch which i should have received along with the order, whin i made a call to the call center about that they said that we have registerd your complain and you will have a repply within 10-12 day and they give me the complain no.573890.
i donot understand that why they are doing such kind of supply, first they give me my order after making so maney complains and following so many time, we place onlline order to save time and by doing such things the company is westing my time and money both

India Today Book Club — Making a wrong offer, non-delivery of goods on offer and non-refund of money on order cancellation

Dear Sir,

I had been given an offer on my mobile phone by an executive of India Today Book Club worth Rs. 19,498/- on 3rd April, 2010, for a 3G mobile phone including a free DELL laptop, a free Reebok watch and a free holiday voucher (Booking ID No.[protected]. I accepted the offer that very moment and the amount was deducted from my credit card account on 5th April, 2010. However, I never received the offered items even after three months, though the committed delivery period was a maiximum of 4 weeks. I had started enquiring about the status of the delivery of the items on their customer care No.[protected] from 5th April, 2010, itself. However, I was not told anything clearly. After three months, I am told that the DELL laptop which was offered free, was wrongly committed and that it can't be provided. In such case, I asked them to cancel my order and refund my money, whereupon I was told that it would take one more month to refund the money. I called them after a month and I was told that all formalities are complete and the money would be refunded to my credit card account within 10 days. One month has passed after this conversation and I am still waiting for my money to be refunded.
Kindly help me in getting my money back. It has been really a nightmare dealing with India Today Book Club. The last complaint No. given to me by their customer care dept. was 507509.

Yes, it has happened to me also. One person by name Mr. Naveen (as quoted by him), has tried to contact me sice morning and ultimately, I spoke to him in the evening. However, I thrashed him hearing some thing about lottery, gold box etc., These people are actively trying for soft targets. People should gaurd themselves. If any authorities can intervene and catch these culprits, it is good for the society. The Numbers from which they tried to contact me are,[protected],[protected],[protected].

I had placed an order for music cds through India Today Book Club in Jan 2009 and Reebok shoes were promised to me. I did not get the shoes and I have sent mails to them. Every time they will say that I will get the shoes in 14 days.

Henceforth, I sent a mail to ITBC but without any response for last 14 days. I made phone calls to them 4 times but without any fruitful result. What Should i do now?

On April 23rd, 2009 I made a payment of Rs 5943/= through my ICICI credit card in favour of Living Media India Ltd. (ITBC) to book a holiday package anywhere in India. I received a form which I duly filled and forwarded it to PREMIER SALES PROMOTION PVT. LTD., PO BOX 5042, BANGLORE 560001, INDIA via regular post as courier services and registered post do not operate on PO Boxes.

There have been several calls offering other products in the past year and a half, but there is no sign of the first one coming through. Your executives have checked the records at your end and have confirmed the receipt of the amount. However, despite complaints on every one of these occasions on my part, your sales executives have failed to give a response regarding the status of the above package. Promises about ‘senior’ authorities getting back to me have been hollow promises and no ‘senior’ has got in touch with me till date.

The sole reason for my acceptance of the holiday package was INDIA TODAY GROUP being the promoter of this scheme. I hope this letter is enough to get some action initiated at your end to find out the reason for the problem and not tarnish the image of one of India’s most respected publishing groups.

I agree. the service is very bad. issues are always delivered late and when i tried to cancel the subscription they just dont. The claim that the money can be refunded at any given time is a false claim.
