India Today Book Club — non refund for 1.5 yrs

it was through indiatoday book club an wrist watch offer was done , initially they did not send the item for 3 months then i asked for refund of money but in vain, i received an confirmation call about 4 months back then the refund was in process and i will get in 7 working days , but till date not received any response nor any refund ,the transaction was done on 18/2/2009 copy of cc attached , i have provided all the required details still not response , they dont have the courtesy to reply the mails nor they attend our call and if attend they keep on hold and never pick up again.pls take strick action against indiatoday and penalise them so heavy that they never thing of cheating people in future.

India Today Book Club — Not keeping up the FREE GOLD GIFT BOX COMMITMENT

ITBC company made me swipe 5 times for products already available with me for Rs.61,000 assuring GOLD FREE GIFT BOX worth DIAMOND / GOLD JEWELLERIES FOR Rs.5,00,000 without me tospend additional rupee. Also they assured free gifts for all the 5 purchases. Before swiping the final amount of Rs.31000 I had requested for a email written confirmation from them and they resisted first. Then when I strictly told them that I wouldnot entertain any hidden charges and without written assurance I will not proceed they gave the below email confirmation which I received on 05.07.2010 and that made me to swipe for such huge amount. After everything was done assured items were delivered as and when they felt comfortable andeven the assured free gifts for the above 3 purchase with unique code isnot activated. Knowing their tricky operation since my last swiping after their below confirmation and telecon assurance that after swiping for Rs.31,000 products on IInd Stage ( First stage was already Rs.23,000 done) I need not spend a rupee and a LS of Rs.5980 for FREE GOLD GIFT BOX was to be swiped and I shall get gift vouchers for Rs.5,00,000 to be redeemed in Dedamas or Tanishq website without spending a rupee.This assurance was given by Mr.Tasvin on 05.07.2010 at 1.25 PM. after this only the money was swiped through myc redit card.

Now for thepast 55 days I have written about 163 emails and I have replies to thetune of about 100 but the answer remains complain is given tot hedepartment and we shall get back to you. They now commi that they would give vouchers worth Rs.5,000 each and I have to go to thier contract site Surat diamond and select item worth MINIMUM Rs.8,000 redeem thisvoucher and pay thebalance. The GOLD FREE GIFT BOX worth Rs.5,00,000 GOLD / DIAMOND JEWELLERY assured ( as per the email commitment) is shifted to discount voucher. Being a big India Today group english understanding should be there. I have so much of written communication from them and I have warned if the assurance isnot kept up then I would submit this legally.

ITBC SHOULD DO DECENT BUSINESS AND IN TODAYS WORLD COMMITTING AND GOING BACK ON THE WORD IS HIGHLY ATROCIOUS. I HOPE SENIOR PEOPLE IN ITBC going through this email will study the correspondence and respond properly as per their commitment.

Hi Shridhar, I agree. this GOLD GIFT BOX is a big cheat ( of cours entire business is based on wrong practices). ..I have completely given up my hope...I have complete recording of the discussion as to how they sold the items and how they made false promises...However I am not sure what is the best way to make these guys pay back..Let me know how you plan to approach this ...
I also got some call from a lady (Date:31 Aug. 2010) regarding wining of gold voucher of Rs. 1, 00, 000.

She told me that Transfer 14999 from ur credit card to clam the gift of Samsung 3G mobile, holiday package etc. by using mobile.

Is it safe to use mobile for credit card transaction?

I received a call from representative of India Today for purchasing a kit comprising sun glass , Rbk T shirt , Rbk Trouser , watch adidas bag with a guaranteed cash or voucher award Rs 27000/- and so I pais Rs 2498/- plus 299/- thru credit card .But after payment they told me to purchase again a LCD TV Samsung to avail Rs 137000/- by paying nearabout 20000/- .Now I am in doubt about the intention of the company .

India Today Book Club — India Today Book Club - "Bag It Today " Diamond Voucher Fraud Complaint

Respected Consumer Court Users & Admin,

I had placed 4 orders with Bag It Today on 5th July 2010, the details of order are as follows,

1) Samsung LCD TV - Rs. 17,699 - Booking ID[protected]
2) Samsung LCD TV - Rs. 17,998 - Booking ID[protected]
3) Reebok Fitness Kit - Rs. 3,300 - Booking ID[protected]
4) Samsung Camcorder - Rs. 11,399 - Booking ID[protected]

Out of these 4, LCD TVs had Surat Diamond Voucher worth Rs. 55,000 Each and the Camcorder had the voucher worth Rs. 20,000.

I had placed the order on 5th July and since then I have called them up on their customer care no. [protected] but everytime they said that "Sir we have some technical problems with our Voucher Department so we will provide you the voucher within a week."

Here is some of the call details that I have,

On 9th July 2010 at 3:52 PM I had a talk with a guy named Neeraj,

On 26th July at 3:42 PM I had a talk with some female but I dont have her name.

On 29th July at 2:30 PM I had a talk with a guy named Kuldeep,

On 11th August at 11:45 AM I had a talk with a guy named Prashant.

During the Ordering process they had PROMISED me that as soon as the product is confirmed we will SMS you the voucher details, and later they said they will email me the details. Customer Care people have taken my phone no. and email id many times but no SMS and No EMAIL. Also once they told me to write an email to "[protected]@bagittoday.com" but even from there I did not get any replies.

Some days later they said we will provide you the vouchers after you have received your product as it is a new rule to give vouchers after product delivery but still I call them up but they give the same reply of Technical Problems and will give you Voucher after a week.

Please CC users, mods and admin I urge you to please help me as the Total Voucher value is Rs. 1,30,000 and its a huge sum. Bag It Today is of India Today Group and I trusted this group but I received FRAUD in return. Please help me get these vouchers.

Well now I have received a call and details are,

4th September 2010 --> @ 2:30 | Kumar
4th September 2010 --> @ 2:40 | Kumar's Senior, Mr. Jagannath
4th September 2010 --> @ 2:46 | Dispatch Dept.

All of them said the same thing, I have to pay Rs. 7492 to club these vouchers i.e. 26 Vouchers X Rs. 5000 = Rs. 1,30,000

Please people at consumer court help me please.

India Today Book Club — Fraud Prize Announcement to Extract Money

A few Months Back, India Today book club sent me courier stating that if i order the Book "world History" i would be given a free assured return ticket to any destination in india. I ordered the Book , to avail the offer, ever since i have been trying to contact these people but to no avail. I have not received the tickets so far. also the book that they sent me was overpriced almost 3 times it original price, but i decided to order it from ITBC because of the attractive offer which was presumably fraud.

In first one you had offered me one DVD player, one home theater, two nights and three day holiday package, air ticket of 7000/- and twenty thousand gift voucher of gold jewelry.

At the time of sale your sales person had told me that we will give the home theater which is costing 25000.00 in market.

But I have received only one DVD player, one home theater which is having MRP. 6990 and order rest is pending.


In second one you had offered me some books and two night three days holidays package. My tour package is still pending from your end.

Today when call up on costumer care no.[protected]. The girl I had talked about this, she told me that if I booked my tour it will take 15 days to book but at the time of sale your sale person has told me that you can book your tour with 7 days also.

Regarding this I had book my compliant on 12.05.2010 with compliant no. 477902. Till date I have not received any feedback call from your end.

Whenever I had called up on[protected] response is only that their system in under upgaradtion.

Till date I have not get any +ve responce from india today bookclub.

This is to make everybody inform that India Today Book Club is doing fraud with general public. They are digesting the money of general public’s hard earn money. This is from my personal experience. Which I want to discuss with my online visitors, so that they can protect their savings. These are the web links for online shopping. Please stay away from these shopping sites. I lost my `18000/- . Still they are not in the intension of refunding back.. From past 5 month they are just sending me the pre-formatted emails.

I got the same language and format more then 100 times. No satisfactory and convincing reply from the so called Big shopping company. I called so many times to their customer care no. but there is no customer service in this company. No feedback. All the people are shameless in that company. They are just keep postponing the matter as the have no intension to give back my money. So be aware from this kind of fraud companies. I know the brand name is very big but believe me services are worse.

This is the list of customer care representatives I spoke with and who give me worse experience. I started keeping the detailed log of my calling from the 9th June:

Senior in charges are Aadil / Kapil / Raashid / Salil. But no Sr. in charge is coming in front to give the answer why it’s taking too much time to resolve the matter. Why they are not refunding my money. SHAKILA is the TL in this company. There is no way to get the money back. May be when I take the legal step. I’ll get my money. There is no responsible Sr. officer in this company.

Here is the whole story about my bad experience:

This is Abhinav Mishra from Mumbai. This is about the order No.[protected]. Ref no. is OGA[protected]. I received the call from Sales department of INDIA TODAY BOOKCLUB in April. They offered me X-Box 360 to purchase. I agreed to purchase it but I told the representative to send me the X-Box 360’s upper model. At that time I didn’t know which upper model is. He told me that India today is offering Arcade model. I told him if it is the upper model sends me. I don’t want to buy lower model. But when I receive it I found there is a model comparison o[censored]pper model (Elite) and lower model ( Arcade ) on the top of the box of X-Box-360. Then I get to know that Elite is upper model and Arcade is lower model. I called the customer care and discuss the issue. They asked me if I am not satisfy with the product I can returned it back to India today and my money and currier charges will be refunded. I returned the parcel on[protected] through Blue Dart Currier. Sending you the Dispatch slip copy second time. First time I sent the slip on the same day when dispatched the parcel that means on[protected] .Company received the parcel on 28th April 2010.

But your department is not also replying my emails. The matter is taking care by : Piyush Thapa, Manisha, Shiv Bahadur and Jaagriti.But frankly speaking to all the visitors the whole department of INDIA today is mismanaged. I am not satisfied with the services of India today book club. There is no feedback and customer service relation system in your company. If any body is planning to purchase something from India today book club, please don't shop from that company, else you will loose your money. No one is helping me. It was my hard earned money. Now i am planning to move consumer court.

India Today Book Club — travel vouchers not received

Hi,
I purchased three holiday packages through telephonic sales received from Noida sales office in the month of April. They promised to deliver three camers along with the package details.
As promised I received the camera with package details after 15 days. Hence I got membership no #ITBC10370735. After getting the package details I responded by sending the details as mentioned in the invoices by ordinary post as mentioned in te guidelines of the India today book club.

After sending the details there was no response for next 20 days, after that I started calling the bangalore number as well as delhi helpline number. But to my utter surprise Delhi staff says that you have received the camera pls communicate bangalore for further details, we don't have any regarding the package.
When I tried to contact Bangalore the phone was not picked up by anybody. I tried the same for next many days. One lucky day, somebody attends the call & told me that it will be delivered in next 15 days.

So, finally I got response letters from BagItToday in mid June but only for two packages instead of three.
Now, I tried to call bangalore office again, but to my hard luck, no body picked up the phone.

So, I thought lets forget about the third package for the time being lets get reimbursed two packages. I send the details again along with the DD of Rs. 850 per package with the ordinary mail as mentioned by the club.

I, then, waited for the next 20 days to happen something, but to the fraud guys these no service has been availed till yet. I tried many times calling Bangalore office but no one picked up the phone. I have already spent lots of money in making phone calls to these guys. This all happen in the mid of July.

So its been more than 2 months that I send them the details and there is no response from their side. And they say that the voucher is valid only for one year from the date of the invoice. Till now its been more than 6 months have passed & there is no travelling voucher provided to me from India today club.

Now I don't need any travel voucher. I request you to please get me my money back along with the compensation for the time & money I have spent for these fraud people.

India Today Book Club — Refund for reportedly failed online transaction

Dear Sir, I am putting this complaint against India Today Book Club for not processing the request for refund of amount for reportedly failed online transaction i had made during online purchase of some electronic items. As instructed by the executives from the team, i had been interacting on email with them giving all required details with no success. I would appreciate if you could take this complaint with appropriate authorities to get me the required refund along with interest and damages as part of harasment during the entire period.

I wish to bring to your attention the fraud and cheating which a reputed company like India today is indulging in.

I am regular subcriber of India today magazine. I had received an offer from India Today book club and I had placed order for 'History of world' along with free books in November 2009 along with advance payment.

Despite repeated emails and calls to India today book club customer care department, I still haven't received my material. All I get is a standard reply in email and over the phone the customer care department tells that we will send the material in 15 days. It has been more than 9 months since I placed order and also sent payment but I still havent received my ordered material.


I am writing this hoping that action will be taken and I will get my material or my money back.
