[Resolved]  India Today Book Club — Not able to avail the holiday voucher package promised by them

I paid Rs 574 for an offer which included india today subscripton for 1 year + 3 cds + adidas bag + holiday voucher... of which i received only bag & cds...
I am unable to find some unique number to fill in the form to avail the voucher...
i tried out with all the numbers given in the invoice...
If you really dont have intention to cheat people do reply to this mail...

We are highly disappointed with India Today Book club.We have booked a order on 18th DECEMBER 2008 for
7CDS+DOMESTIC HOLIDAY VOUCHER+REEBOK WALLET, KEYCHAIN+DIAMOND VOUCHER+ I YEAR SUBSCRIPTION OF INDIA TODAY MAGAZINE.
We have made the payment also for the same with our credit card right away.
But we haven't recieved anything till today.We wish this matter should be taken seriously.
Delhi Police should take some action or report this matter to Consumer Cell and drag these people to Courts and punish them severely, so that they should not make fool of anybody in future.

India Today Book Club — Denying payment done by credit card

With ref to above problem, India Today Book club had called me and informed that since my name was in the sweepstakes winners' list, they were giving me discount offer of 5 Agatha Christie DVD pack plus Reebok shoes plus 2N/3D holiday voucher plus return air ticket voucher worth Rs 7000/-., all for just Rs 2598.I had confirmed the booking for the following gift on 9th feb 2009. I was also given a booking Id which is[protected]

I paid Rs 2598 via Credit card on the same day i.e 9th Feb 2009 on the IVR menu. But for a long time I had no intimation from India Today nor did I receive the gift which I had ordered

On calling the helpline, I was told there has been no payment made for this booking and hence the order hasnt been processed. I told them on their help line no[protected] that this cannot be possible as I had been charged Rs 2598 on my credit card. I told them I can give them my credit card statement. I was asked to send an email to their email id [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com which I did send on 4th March with the soft copy of the credit card statement attached. I was told that I will be receiving a call in 24 hrs. Since I didnt receive any call for many days, I aclled up on their helpline enquiring the receipt of my email. They told me that they have received my email and I was again told that I will receive a call in 24 hrs. But on following up 3 times on their helpline where I had to bear the STD charges since their helpline no was of Gurgaon, I did not receive any revert from them.

I sent them a reminder of the same on 18th March again. But still there has been no reply from them on my issue. I think I have been defrauded by India Today and I want to take action against them

Pls advise on the future course of action
This is a complete fraud company.
I already paid 800/- and now thr air ticket company Bigcity is saying that they have canceled this offer. I cannot understand how they can do this. if you call they company which provide the air ticket they will give you some number which will be wrong i[censored] call that no. i already tried this and the no was a personal number and the owner of that no was very upset with all this drama.
So i will advise you guyes never take anything from them and advice other also not to this.

getting lot of SMS and phone followup even after informed to their executive. Is there any way to stop this except closing the phone connections.
All the complaints here is 100% correct, Indiatoday club is a fraud what now days these guys are doing that they collect database of email ids and mobile numbers and register in their database and start sending mails and sms with very attractive offers so any one can be greedy for that and when that one give the payment after that not get any mails reply, any sms and fully cheated, you guys can go in consumer forum for this thing

India Book Club — Products not as per visualized and size specified

I had seen the products advertised by India Book Club (http://offers.indiatodaybookclub.com/c120/landing3.jsp). And accordingly paid online payment for the products.

When I received the products, they were of very cheap quality. Below are my specific issues:

a. I have been given a pink color napkin (nearly 8”x12”) instead of a towel. Also, see the photo that I was shown while making the purchase. It is nowhere near this. There is not even a Reebok logo on it. It is worth only Rs. 25/- I did not expect such quality.
b. Shoes also is not of the quality. It has very ordinary sole. These shoes are available in the market for Rs. 500-600.
c. I had requested No. 6 shoes. This shoes is 7 or 8. It is quite big and useless for my wife. There is no number written on the shoes. What is the use of keeping it now???
d. The track suit is of NYLON. Ideally track suits are of 80% Cotton, 5-8% lycra and balance Nylon. This one is very thin and I did not like the quality at all.

I had requested for taking the products back. I will pay the necessary courier charges, but the company just denied this. They are not even responding to my emails for at least the replacement of the products as per the size requested.

I am not sure why I spent Rs. 3, 300 on this products and what should I do now with them?

I have odered ( Ordr no. - [protected] ) the swatch watch from india today book club for rs 2150 on 15th march and money was debited from my credit card on 17th march and they told me that u will recieve ur parcel within 7-10 days. i called on 26th march then they told me that it will take another 2-3 days and then i again called up on 30th march then they are saying that it will take 21 days from date of booking.
i think they are making me a fool. if will not get my parcel in 1-2 days i will definetly take some legal action.
I had book one pair of Reebok shoe and One Benneton wrist watch and pad Rs.1400/- + rs.300/- for that on 1st-march-2009.
I was told that the delivery of the items will be done withis 28 days but 30 days have passed since then i have not received my item.

Can any one tell me when can I receive the items???
i have also placed two orders with india today book club. one order placed on 23 feb 09 has still not been received and the other has been received without the free gifts. I am shocked at this poor service from a company with a so called good reputation. my membership no is ITBC09949315.

I received phone from indiatoday book he talked with me about scheme & I gave him 2998/- Rs for that purchsing of Reebok Shoes, Reebok T-Shirt on date 10/03/2009 But till date I didn't not receive courier of that. What is the problem please solve it. He told me that you received courier within 15 days.

It is really amazing that such a reputed company can CHEAT openly.
I received a email offer to pay Rs 799 and Rs 300 as handling charges and get a set of 16 CDs of Sur and Tall and Saaz and a Benetton Sun glass worth Rs 3999 free. I received the VPP and paid for the same. The parcel was so nicely packed that it seems that sunglass must be inside. but when i opened it and saw that only a letter to claim gift was there.
I contact toll free no Mr Iftiaq and he told me that you have to pay Rs 500 more as handling charges for the sunglass. I told that it is free why it has not sent alongwith cds as I have already pay Rs 300 as handling charges. But he asked to send complaint by email disconnected the phone. I send email but no reply received.

I am of the opinion that the GOVT of INDIA should ban all such company and seize their property. They should pay for the agony to customers.
I am also planning to go to consumer court once recieve reply from them. They are cheaters
