[Resolved]  India Today Book Club — Non-receipt of Ordered goods

In response to my order# MITBC-WEB-0666639 dtd.3rd June 2008 for Encyclopaedias from Indiatodaybookclub. Payment was made through my credit card. It was told to me that the delivery will be made in 2-3 weeks. But till date I havent received the books. Worried about my money . I never expected a serious mismanagement like this from a reputed organization like India Today. I would appeal quick delivery of the books ASAP. Waiting for your quick reply.

myself, chitralekha pardeshi, placed order in march end but till date the parcel not delivered. made calls so many times, eveytime they are saying the parcel has been despatched and will take a weeks time to deliver. now, it is completing 2 months but waste. i am wasting my time and money both for this. is the india today is so irresponcible firm that they do not want to do a series business. does a company like you do not believe in consumer rights. i need entire details of below from you
the Waybill No. of the parcel & the date on which it was dispatched ?
the courier company through which it was sent ?the date on which it reached my residence ?
the reason why it was not delivered ?
was the courier company provided by my No. ? why they have not called?
Dear sir,

I had ordered for a set of 16CDs " SUR SAAZ TAAL" (Order No.OGA[protected] on 28/03/09 and received the item on 17.04.09 for which I made the payment for Rs. 1099.00 (+ MO commission Rs. 55.00) to Postman. Unfortunately one CD was found to be defective. I contacted ITBC through email and phone (STD & Tollfree) both. Then I was advised by Mr. Sushil Kumar through email on 20.04.09 to return the entire item for necessary replacement and assured that the order would be redispatched from your side immediately. Meanwhile I received my another item, a set of 7 DVDs of Agatha Christie vide order no. OGA[protected] dated 28.03.09 on 21.04.09 paying Rs.569.00 (+ MO commission Rs. 29.00) to Postman. Unfortunately this time also all the 7 DVDs were found to be defective. Then as per the advise of ITBC I sent back both the defective items in a single pack to the given address of India Today Book Club, B-47 Indira Enclave Neb Sarai, New Delhi 110068 by Speed Post from Kolkata Airport Speed Post Office 700052 on 27.04.09 vide consignment no. EW[protected]IN paying Postal charges Rs. 192.00. But to my surprise that parcel was sent back to me on 06.05.09 with Delhi Postman's remark 'lene se inkar' in Hindi with Delhi postal stamp dated 30.04.09. Again I contacted ITBC through email and Tollfree no. and as per advise and assurances of Mr. Jitendar Kumar Thakur ( through email) and Mr. Azeem Khan (through phone) that this time the parcel would be accepted by their warehouse I resent the freshly packed packet through Kolkata 700052 Speed Post Office vide consignment no. EW[protected]IN on 11.05.09 . But to my utmost surprise the packet was again refused to accept by ITBC, ware house on 12.05.09 with the same remark in Hindi by New Delhi Postman "lene se inkur" and Postman from Kolkata 700052 came to deliver me the same on 16.05.09. As a matter of coincidence then I was in phone line with Mr. Azeem Khan of ITBC . I informed him about the arrival of parcel back and wanted his advice. He told me not to accept the item. So I did that.


So now what is going to happen with my both the items for which already I spent Rs.2170.00 and being a Senior Citizen faced enormous harrasements ?

My questions are :

Why time and again my sent items are returned by New Delhi ITBC Warehouse ?
If these items are never to be accepted by ITBC why do Executives of ITBC give assurances unnecessary and harrase Members?
And if ITBC would ever accept the item why do they refusing again and again ?
Is it due to ITBC's faulty internal communication system ?
And if ITBC cannot serve sincerely to the expectation of a Member why do they offer for the items then ?
Even, if I ever get, my fresh replaced items back will ITBC compensate for these harrasement caused to me due to their faulty system ?
Does a company like India Today not believe in Consumer Rights???
What is ITBC's complaint redressal system ??
Does the onsumer have the right to know the reasons, as per your company policy, of refusing their returned items time and again ?
Do ITBC have any complaint cell apart from a redundant email id [protected]@indiatodaybookclub.com where no one cares to reply to consumers ???
The service provided by you is worse than the bogus cheap shopping websites !! I have had a better shopping experience at these websites. At least there are a set of some responsible people who answer to customers questions!! ITBC can learn from the members of EbayIndia & EbayUk how to perform better.
Do you try to find out the employees responsible for these delays?? If yes what steps are taken by your company to ensure that they are not repeated and consumers are not troubled??
Do you instill a sense of responsibility in your employees to give some level of customer satisfaction???
What is the protocol in your company for answering these complaints?
What is the step taken if complaint is not looked into ??
Do you have a complaint cell in your company??
If yes, kindly provide me the complete details of this cell including the people responsible for handling complaints and the head of your complaint cell.
It is ridiculous to see that a company of the repute of India today is not bothered about the rights of its customers in today’s advanced age??!!
Please reply to all my questions well in time!!

Because these questions will keep coming till I get a satisfactory service and answer.

India Today Book Club — Non Receipt of ordered goods

Dear sir,

I had ordered for a dinner set ( Art d inox ) (Order No. M-COMMERCE/0GA[protected] on 23/03/09 for which I made the payment through my credit card. I was told that the product would be sent soon & that I would be sent dispatch details via email & SMS. However, since I did not receive any information from your side, on 01/04/09 I sent an email to know the status of my order. To my astonishment I was told that the parcel containing my order had gone back undelivered! No details or reasons for not being able to deliver the product were provided to me by your company.

I was assured again by Mr. Sushil Kumar that the order would be redispatched from your side immediately. This was on 02/04/09. Since then you have not been able to send my product. No details have been provided to me despite having sent many reminder emails.

I had asked for the details of the parcel sent to me earlier by you, but no details have been provided to me. I wanted to know…

the Waybill No. of the parcel ?
the date on which it was dispatched ?
the courier company through which it was sent ?
the date on which it reached my residence ?
the reason why it was not delivered ?
why did the delivery person of the courier company not call on my mobile no.?
was the courier company provided by my No. ?

Why was no reply given to me even after so many email reminders??

Does a company like India Today not believe in Consumer Rights???

Was the product actually dispatched from your side?? If yes why are you shying away from giving the details to the consumer??

Does the consumer have the right to know these Details as per your company policy??

Does the statement “ 4 weeks are required to deliver the goods” absolve you and your employees of all the responsibilities of providing timely and courteous service to the customer???

What is the protocol in your company for answering these complaints?

dartmail india has the poorest service.. they never deliver the couier ontime, , , some times they never deliver the courier. only one phone no. is mentioned on their website, , no body answers at that phone no. dartmail should shutdown their operations.

I have placed an order for Rebook kit worth 3199/- on 30th May 2009 and got a conformation mail and call that the order was successful and i was about to receive the goods in 10-15 business days. till not i did not get any delivery ( Courier Details) to my mail or though call or SMS. India Today Book Club — Non Receipt of Goods

I had booked for a Watch+Wallet+Belt vide Booking ID.0GA[protected]
Payment towards this was debited to my Credit Card on 02/03/2009, for Rs.1, 298.00
Upon booking I was informed that the said goods will be delivered with in 3-4 weeks. However, I am still to receive this. Now it is more than 3-1/2 months and there is no solution in sight. Every time I call their call centre at[protected], I am given a new date.

India Today Book Club — non receipt of merchandise

I have order for Gym bag and towel costing Rs.399. the transacction ID is [protected]. its being almost two month i have not received the merchandise. the payment for the same was done at the time of placing the order. i have called customer care centre several times and send the email for the same but no action taken till date. i have requested them to refund the money back. no action taken till date.

India Today Book Club — Goods not Delivered

Hi,

I booked an order with you for set of 5 books on 8-July-2009 for Rs 552.
My credit card was debited and I received the order confirmation on my mail ID saying that within next 3 weeks order goods will be delivered at my address.
I waited till 26th- Aug-2009 for the order, since then I have sent 29 mails so far, out of which only 9 were replied, and most were “we have transferred it to the concerned department” and some were “Please send us your credit card statement so that we shall validate if you have made the payment or not”.
I was asked to send my credit card details, as the proof of payment, which I did and since then they haven't sent any response back.

Today when i called then enquiring about my order, i was told that the books are 'Out of Stock' and i can cancel my order. But the money would be credited to my account after a month !!

Why was i kept waiting for so long? Why wasn't i updated about this earlier?
Is it the case that consumer doesn't have any say in the way these companies may deal?
I seriously doubt the integrity of the company which has kept me waiting for the order for so long after pocketing the money.

I request your authority to kindly intervene and take such a strong deterrant measure so that consumer should have some relief from such unscrupulous pratices by the companies. Otherwise we, the consumers, would be victimized eternally.

Sir I am an ITbC memeberand my membership no. is ITBC09877852. I have purchased a Bhajan CDs set and i was assured for sure gift of a pair of REEBoK shoe alongwith holiday voucher and round ticket. But I am deeply regret to inform you inspite of my shoe no. given to the customer executive and repeated reminders I have not received any gift inlcluding the Air journey voucher and holiday voucher. I once again to kindly look after the things and suggest me how to avail these vouchers. Otherwise as per my opinion India today book club is loosing faith amongst the valueable customers by the fasle commitments made to the the customers by collecting huge amount from them. i shall highly be obliged if a suitable reply to my complaint is sent within 24 hours time. Have become book club member by paying Rs.525 on 2/11/2009 through credit card (in web site it is shown Rs.500). I have still not received membership No. I wanted to place order for book through internet, but could not proceed due to the above problem.

Till Today they have not delivered the goods and not responding on telephone, mobile, e-mail address for the inquiry for the same.
I put my complain to india shop customer care but they answer me that ----
With reference to your mail dated 26.11.09, we would like to inform you that the order number which you provide its wrong so we unable to solve your query we request you to provide correct order number for the same.
I reply them that------
The order no. is provided by your CUSTOMER CARE PERSON person who take my order from your SHOP phone no.[protected], and to day morning ON DT.26.11.09 at 11.00 am. ,he confirmed FROM THE SAME MOBILE NO.[protected] on my mobile that they will deliver the goods within THREE days. So who is wrong ? On your web sight there is lot of customer complain for not delivering goods . Pl. correct my problem -I have taken my bank help and they have given me all information that t my money is with you.
So if you have given me wrong order no., then give me new correct order number AND DELIVER THE GOODS IMIDIATELY.

It may thus be observed from the foregoing , that the offer is for all three items and there is no mention of any free gifts. Going by the lucrative offer and the standing of “INDIA TODAY”, I agreed for the offer and the requisite payment of Rs 9498 was made by me on September 22,2009. I was promised by the executive of ITBC (Mr. Dilip) that the goods would reach me within 10 days.

I received Consignment No. [protected] containing the Samsung Mobile phone on October 4, 2009 The Invoice no.for the Samsung phone is ORA[protected] of Sept 25,2009, The invoice mentioned that I would be required to log into their site to claim my free gifts . Earlier all the three items was indicated as one order and in the invoice they have indicated that the other two items are free gifts . Till date, I am unable to log into the site to claim the other two items of the Special Offer viz. (i) The Philips Home theater System and (ii) the FUJIFILM digital camera as the indicated in the offer. Their site indicates that the offer is closed. Also, while trying to contact the given phone number, recorded music is being played for prolonged period of time and after a long wait everytime a different executive replies stating that their site has been experiencing difficulties and hence unable to comment upon the status of my order.

This has been going on for the last two months and innumerable correspondences and phone calls have not resulted in any positive outcome. Of late, ITBC has stopped replying to my mails. Copies of mails exchanged with ITBC are appended as testimony of my claims for your kind information and record.
Under the circumstances therefore, I feel helpless and cheated and I am constrained to approach an esteemed organization like yours who have been doing a pioneering work in settling consumer grievances.
I have observed that you have been able to help out several victims of India Today Book club. Could you please look into this matter and see that justice is done. Such fraudulent activities under such esteemed banner needs to be given wide publicity , stopped forthwith and the officials concerned should be booked for the offences , so that gullible common man customers are not cheated.

This email is my last hope of getting justice.

I too have faced a similar problem with India Today Book Club. They promised holiday voucher & return air fare. I was to send the request for this separately to Premier Sales Promotion Pvt Ltd, Bangalore. Which I did in September 2009. No response. My order no is [protected] of August 28, 2009.
My brother, too, had availed of the offer. But instead of sending the request by ordinary mail (as I did according to instructions) he sent it by courier. The letters have returned undelivered - 'Shifted'.
And Indis Today Book Club is simply not available on phone. They put you on hold for hours together

India Today Book Club — Non receipt of Goods even after 3-4 Reminder mails

I have placed an order on 26th June 2009 for a Kodak Digital Camera. I have paid through my credit card amount Rs. 5348 and my Order No. is: M-COMMERCE/0GC[protected] and Order ID is: MITBC-WEB[protected].

I haven't received the camera yet and i have sent reminder mails 3-4 times but even after that i haven't got any satisfactory reply. It being almost one and half year following for it but still i haven't received the camera.

Please reply at the earliest otherwise I would be forced to go to consumer court.
