[Resolved] Indian Railway — Train No 2779, GOA EXPRESS
This is regard to the corruption in Railways & problems faced by passengers.
Please refer PNR No : [protected], Train No : 2779, Train Name : GOA EXPRESS, Date of Journey : 4th April, 2008, Boarding : Manmad Junction, Destination : Hazrat Nizamuddin (New Delhi), No of Passenger : 9 (3 with other ticket), Berth No : 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 57, 58 & 60
I was traveling along with 8 other passengers including my old parents & my grand mother.
We have reserved this particular journey some 2 months back which well in advance. But, to our surprise, when we board the train at Mannad Junction, our seats were occupied by passengers who had waiting list ticket or local passengers. Moreover, in our seats, they put their big trunks & other huge luggage for which we had to fight with them.
Again, the compartment doors were blocked by keeping huge trunks & other luggages. No body can go out when train was stopping at stations & junctions to fill water bottles/bring foods to eat. Even the condition was so bad, that, we didn’t able to use the toilets in the compartments. My mother is heart patient & she is old. My grand mother is even older.
The ticket checker was least bothered to see whether any unwanted passenger is traveling in the compartment occupying other seats, making them uncomfortable, blocking the gate & toilets etc. Even at night also, where only reserved passengers can travel, these passengers traveled all night creating nuisance in the train.
We can simply understand that by taking money from the un-reserved passenger, the ticket checker has allowed them to travel & keep their luggage even at night, so why passenger should book ticket in advance if passenger can travel like this.
The inconvenience we have faced, we can demand compensation from Indian Railway. Hope to get an early reply on this from you
