Chart not prepared even before an hour of train departure – so experience hell lot of problems
I encountered almost same problem.
I booked e-tickets (3 berths, for me & parents) in 7032/ Mumbai Express, date of journey 26 Dec 09. PNR –[protected], from Hyderabad to Solapur. Train scheduled departure was 20:40.
That day I was checking status through all means till 7:45 PM but my status was WL/17, WL/18, WL/19. Now its only 1 hour for departure so I cancelled my journey by that train.
Next day I expected that those tickets where already cancelled & I will get my amount refund (because by rule wait listed e-tickets automatically get cancelled & you can board the train).
But what a surprise, ticket was not cancelled & when I checked PNR status, 2 berths were confirmed & one was wait listed.
And now when I trying to cancel it message is prompted that “chart is prepared & ticket can not be cancelled”
So now I lost ticket amount, cancelled my journey, arranged travel by other means at high cost and apart from that big mental stress & physical torturer. We can’t take any decision even before an hour of our train departure.
At least, I should get full ticket amount refund.
