[Resolved]  Insurance Verification Department — fake call for policy cancellation and dividend refund

i have started getting such calls from delhi insurance verification dept fund section for the policies which i have cancelled 5 years back.after 2 /3 calls i refused to take any new policy from birla sun life and asked them to cancel the performance bonus amount of rs.124588 today i got another call from the person mr rejesh sharma. he told me that my bonus is with him for cancellation please take policy of rs.30000 from birla sun and forward the policy no. to him with following mob.no.[protected]so he will send me a letter with all details what should i do please guide me.

I got a call this morning from a woman again claiming she is from the insurance verification department. My insurance policy (LIC) has some market bonus which is in cancellation phase and she wanted to verify some information so she can release the check. I was almost going to give that information when my wife stopped me from doing so. I am glad i did not share any information because it clearly looks like it is a fradulent racket of some sort. They gave me a delhi number to call back which was not reachable when i called back.

Even i also recieved the same call, telling that they are from the Insurance verification Department.I have owned 2 insurance policy in TATA AIG (Mahalife gold & ULIP) now in lapsed status. A girl by name POOJA called from the no.[protected] and Nisha([protected]) asking is their any issues with TATA AIG. offcourse i had a issues on withdrawing the policies. She gave me a picture on withdrawing a amount of Rs.36998/- from both the policies. And offered instead of withdrawing they can shift our policy in to some other insurance co like ICICI, TATA AIG & Reliance even with a good product wherein we can get good returns and that to in written statement as per policy bond.

I have almost impressed with the offer and selected Reliance co but finally she told whatever i have paid the premium in TATA AIG that will be shifted to Reliance only think is that initially i ahve to pay Rs.52000/- after 3 months i will get back my money which i have paid to TATA, if not the same amount will need not to pay my 5th premium in Reliance. Now i little bit scared.

So could you help in this. Even both the girls gave her personal mobile no to me (Pooja-[protected]), Nisha([protected])

I have received one similar call from some female named Mahi (Phone number:[protected] saying that she is from Insurance verification department and though the market has gone up in recent years but my policy is still losing. So she needs my details (DOB, phone number, Address, etc) so that she can forward my concern to her senior.
Please suggest.

I got a policy call from some no. [protected] - Rahul Srivastava for cancellation of Birla sun life and jeevan dhara which I don't even have .It has been pending since 1 year and last date of cancellation is today and wants my confirmation .
When I asked for details he told he doesn't have that and cannot send any mail due to secrecy. I asked how come you are confirming at last moment without intimating earlier. He told 3 notices have been send but returned due to door locked.I told him not to cancel, he asked for my a/c no. on which money will be transferred. I told him to hold the file and send it to the local office for my confirmation, he told that it will be sent after cancellation and amount of Rs. 4 lakhs willbe given to Govt. charity.
When I asked such a big policies are cancelled on telephonic calls and no identities then what is the use of these form fill ups and photos.
I immediately traced the phone location in tellows .com which shows to be inside Delhi University.
I stay in Maharastra and want this to be lodged in police and exposed in media as these frauds might be happening with some corrupt govt. official as they are getting the correct name, ph. and address.
If you confirm they might edit the recordings and show it as a proof for cancellation and do some noble man's policy claim amount which might be his life's hard earnings .
It should be brought into knowledge of every policy holders that cancellation or any activity should be done when holder is physically present not by just a telephonic calls.
This awareness should be given strictly by the Insurance Dept. in their letterhead as they are responsible for disclosing our details.
This sort of calls also makes the holder panic and with fear of losing the amount they give their bank a/c . no. which results in money wipe out as in internet lottery calls.

I request everyone, not to entertain such kind of the call. Even I have got the call many times before. A lady by name(xyz) called and told that she is from (IRDA) departmentand there is a bonus offer on my policy, if I am not willing to get the bonus amount then the amount will directly go to the agent's account who has sold the policy to me.

The funniest part is I have already surrendered my policy and bank has credited the amount in my bank account long back. But then too she is offering me the bonus. When I started asking all those queries then she suddenly disconnected the phone.

I request everyone not to entertain such kind of call and be very careful about your hard earned money.

hi i m from jalandhar i also got call today saying that you have an insurance in sbi ...but i don`t have done any of the insurance..he told me that there money will be blocked if they will not provide me the details.
i don`t know why they are making fool of the people.

i just got a call from insurance verification department from [protected].
he was asking if we have any problem with the insurance company, any fraud, any wrong commitment type.
he said that they are verifying all 29 private companies etc.
I FEEL THE CALL WAS FALSE.
WHAT SHOULD I DO SO THAT THESE PEOPLE DOES NOT HARM THE INNOCENT PEOPLE.

One of Aviva Policy has lapsed. I am getting repeated Call from no 64716312 that the are calling from "National Fund Organisation" a part of IRDA stating that As per new guidelines of IRDA Aviva would return 1, 23000.00 but for which I would have to open a policy of ICICI Prudential. Once this is opened within 4 months the amount would be returned. Did anyone got from this number and was fleeced

I also got a call like this.Saying that He is calling from Insurance department & my bonus amount is claimed by a person named Neeraj.And I have to deposit a security amount of Rs.41, 000.What I have to do.I m confused whether its a fake call or not. Please tell me what to do.

I too recieved call from [protected] for verification call from so called IRDA department. I check with IRDA immediately and they feel so helpless to take action against it. As expected .

I received this type of call and as know that there is no existance of such type of department who could verify the insurance policy.

I have recieved few similar calls saying that they are speaking from Onsurance Verification Department, and informe about 45000 Rs bonus against my insurance policy, and they told that this amount will laps if I will not claim. By this trick they wanted to know about my all insurance policies. Then today some Mr Rohir socalled incharge of above Dept rang me as IRDA superviser and when I asked his verification & idienty, he get angry and threatening me that he is cancelling my bonus amount. I gave them my email I'd but they are not contacting me through Internet. There behaiveer is dictotraitius and like gunda, s.

So I warn every one to beware of all these Fake n Fraudulent calls.
