[Resolved]  IRCTC — Refund of Tickets not travelled

Dear Sir,

I have filed TDR on 5/6/2009 for refund of my tickets. Almost 6 months are over and still not received any refund of my tickets. Whenever i called up for refund, i got the reply it is in process. I do not know how to make escalation for this matter. My PNr no is [protected] and transaction ID is [protected].

Pls. find the correspondance with IRCTC for your record :

Dear customer,

Sorry for the inconvenience. Kindly note that your refund case of PNR No. [protected] has been forwarded to CCM/Northern Railway on dt.09.06.09. We have already issued Reminder No. 1 dt. 26.09.09 to concerned railway to chase up the case. But despite reminder refund yet not received from the concerned railway. Now we are sending a Reminder No. 2 dt.17.11.09 with all the papers pertaining to your refund case to concerned railway to chase up the cases. As soon as refund, if any, received it will be credited to your card account.

It pretty long time. almost 4 months are getting over and still we have not recd. refund from you. This is the poor service that we are receiving. Its look like Railway does not have money and they are running on our refund money. I will surely escate this in the news that railway is taking 4 months to refund ticket payment to customer. Also would like file complain in Ombusman for this poor response.

IRCTC - Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd — No news about the refund of e-Tecket

Dear Sir,

I could not utilize the train ticket I purchased through IRCTC website as the train was running indefinitely late. I paid INR 983/-for this 3AC ticket (PNR no [protected]) from Lucknow to Kolkata on 2318 ASR-Sealdah exp. departing Lucknow at 20:55 on 8th February. Since there was no information about the train at the enquiry counter and I had to catch an overseas flight ex- kolkata on 9th Feb, I had to choose other means to reach Kolakata, which in this case was a Jetlite flight.

I requested for the refund to IRCTC at the [protected]@irctc.co.in with all the necessay documenets and I got following reply from them

Dear Customer,
Thanks for showing interest in our site. Kindly note that e-ticket cancellation can be done up to the chart preparation, after making chart e-ticket cancellation not allowed. In this case we are forwarding your case to railways for the TDR process. Railways check all the matters and decide what amount should be refunded and this all process takes 90 days or more. Once the railways refunded your amount, we will credited to your same account.
