[Resolved]  Irctc — Cancellation of E ticket

Dear Customer Support

I have booked an e ticket in Tatkal quota to travel from Gorakhpur to New Delhi by Bihar SamparkKranti Express on date 22nd march 2008. Due to some unavoidable reasons I did not travel and on 21st March at 2 pm attempted to cancel my ticket. When i approached the ticket counters at Gorakhpur, I was informed by counter Clerk that e ticket could be cancelled online omly. As the tickets can not be cancelled at railway Station therefore following your norms, lastly I did a mail at 3.20 PM regarding cancellation. i did not find the cancellation options on e ticket web pages and in my ticket login pages online. On 21st 5.40 pm I recieved an e mail of a single line that no refund can be made for such cancellation. I would like to mention that I informed you 25 hour before the train journey. You must be issuing waiting tickets that can be confirmed in lieu of my confirmed seats.
I hope you should refund the journey ticket value and may deduct the reservation fee and tatkal charges. I do not find any reason with this policy that tatkal tickets can not be cancelled. I need a reply against my mail and wish to get refund of ticket price (excluding tatkal charges and reservation fee). If a person has not traveled he is not bound to pay the travel charges this is best up to any conumer and hope the same from your organization.
I need a note and action from you. Provided no reply, I think I have enough reasons to approach Judicial options.

I had booked an e-ticket. Now I want to cancel it but my user id and pass word have become invalid. The site is showing that the user id has become invalid and an e-mail has been sent to me regarding the new user id but i have not received any such e-mail. Please do the needful so that I can operate with my user id.

Hello Sir,
here i read your problem and i thought i should suggest you something. check all yr spam and junk folder to in your mail box, or else you can put your user id and then click on forgot password, you will receive a new one or you can create a new user id and by that too you can cancel the ticket too.

I have booked an e ticket in General quota to travel from Ludhiana to Vishakhapatna by HIrakund Express on date 06 May 2011. Due to some unavoidable reasons I cannot travel travel and on my due date i.e 20 Jun 2011 attempted to cancel my ticket. I booked 2 tickets through irctc reservation system but i want cancel only one ticket.
Can I do?
I had a strong Complain about Indian Railways.
The E-ticket is automatically cancelled when it is on "waiting list" when chart is prepared.
Then what is the need to give facility of Internet Reservation.
It is a loss for Indian people who is educated who is doing reservation ONLINE.
We had faced many problems. Our journey date is 04.01.2012.
This is happening in India that's why India is still technologically behind from other countries.
We are paying the additional charges of Internet Reservation then also the E - ticket is meaningless when the chart is prepared.

Today also Indian Railways are not favoring technology and giving importance to old structure of ticketing which is standing in the Queue even if the person may be the Senior Citizen or may be the Lady or any handicapped person.

Please don't trust Indian Railways...

I booked e-ticket and got waiting list status when i cancelled the ticket through on line the amount was not credited to my bank account until[protected] the ticket was cancelled on[protected] from which the ticket was booked the particulars are give below: please credit the same immediately. It is the irctc duty that as when the ticket is cancelled the refund amount should be credited immediately when the same was debited on booking.
