[Resolved]  Irctc — IRCTC - Very bad website - Poor service

This is to bring to your notice the issues i faced with IRCTC site. I just made a booking for a ticket and although it was very slow i could reach till payment screen. However, after i entered the payment details and clicked submit, it did not complete the txn. This is very disappointing. This has happened couple of times today and i just gave up now.

I have noticed that the website speed issue has been continuing for a long time now as well, for couple of years. It is extremely frustrating to book a ticket through IRCTC. What is IRCTC or Ministry of Railways doing to improve this website performance? This is just RIDICULOUS, waiting for 1 hour to book a single ticket!!!

Yes this is absolutely right. Something needs to be done on this regard.
please close totally eticket booking through www.irctc.co.in because this is full cheating to people.their server capacity is very low means nobody can book ticket at 8AM so please close this wbsite totally or increase the server capacity like GOOGLE.
of course i agree that this site will be used by hundreds of people at the same time. but what to do..? the server should be maintained properly.. What a poor maintanence...i[censored] cant maintain this site, jus leave it. don have the website for name sake without any use. people who are using this site will get BP naturally.
that too ticket bookin intatkal is the most torturous job in the world.. jus stop dis useless service of online ticket booking

IRCTC — very poor services

i am using irctc.co.in for booking the railway tickets in online,but resent times when i want to book my tickets by using my debit/credit cards,it deduct the amount from my account and the ticket was not booked,like that happens 4,5 times.what have to do for getting solution.

IRCTC — Site performance extremely poor

Dear Reader,

This is to take your notice that, IRCTC website is not available most of the times in the morning.
specially at 08.00am when tatkal bookings open.

It performs extremely bad and mostly give different types of errors during 8 to 9.
this must be because load on the site in very high in this time and it is not able to respond to all the users.
Due to this, customers are not able to make e-ticket bookings for Tatkal quota.

Please check and upgrade website so that it can serve all the users all the time.

bech diya hai IRCTC WEB SERVICE ko dalalo ke hath. Jab bhi ticket banane baitho ghanto bit jaate hai, aur ticket nahi mil paata hai.

when booking for tatkal invariably the site does not open and message "service unavailable" appears in spite of several attempts
I think we all forget that we live in a place called 'INDIA', here everything has the same nature 'Chalta hai'. If we break our heads in this website complaining for the attitude that our government has on us, the government does not need to be answerable to us. Actually the government is not answerable to us at all for any of its decisions, which are mostly wrong. There is nothing actually that can be done. The only way to kill this government is just stop paying your taxes...all of you... This is the limit man...how long are we going to fight against corruption and injustice, this is happening since 1947, when we got Independence from the britishers..!!! Absolute disgrace...
i face the same problem every now & then.
the worst part the money goes immediately from the bank without the ticket being made!!
Later on, you get a failure notification. This is absolutely frustrating. Every time you try to book a ticket you'll have to go through the same pain.
I guess the person in-charge of the networking division of Irctc is not at all worried about the inconvenience to so many people everyday. He is getting his fat package regularly so why the hell bother about it. And for the bad luck of all Indians this is never going to change also. Alas !

The first complaint in this thread is from 2011 and now it is 2013. Still the service has not improved. Many time I face the same problem and need to spent a lot of time in booking a ticket, even at odd times. The communication error, session timeout and worst the "waiting" for returning back to irctc after payment.. the issues are too many.
Even today I spent almost hours in booking and still unsuccessful at the end of it. This is pathetic service.

India is supposed to be IT Hub and home to the best talents in IT, still the irctc site which is so important can not be improved in so many years?
