[Resolved]  Joy Travels — Cancelled Regular bus and running special bus instead

I have booked tickets for travelling on 12-Jan-2011 from Chennai to Madurai in JOY Travels.

I booked the ticket on 13-Dec-2010, the day on which ticket bookings open for 12-Jan-2011 buses.

The fare of the bus is Rs.350/- Non AC.

But I got call on 11-Jan-2011 3 PM stating that the Bus operator cancelled the bus service on my travel date.

But when I went to some other website to book ticket in some other buses I saw the same JOY Travels Non AC on same date on same time with increased fare of Rs.750/-

I was shocked to see this.. Same bus same class but increased fare.

I cant even book in other buses due to excess fare.

Due to this I have cancelled my pongal trip to my hometown.

Take necessary actions on bus operators like this.

Even I cant arrange for alternate due to the shortage of time.

I called bus operator and enquired regarding this.. But their response is not good and spoke in some foul language.

It has been a disappointing experience with Redbus and Joy Travels.

I too encountered the same issue. I was charged 750 /- chennai - madurai for a special bus. the stupid thing is it took more than 14 hrs to reach madurai. they ruined my holiday as i was travelling home for easter. i wont forget them and never travel with joy travels again...
Red Bus has only 3 categories to mark the performance of a transport companies. But there are other factors like cheating. I booked a 9PM sleeper bus in Joy travels through Red bus. I already know that Joy travels is lacking in punctuality. But this time they changed time of departure from 9pm to 8pm as the 9 pm bus was cancelled but informed only before an hour. Instead of sleeper they offered to give seater front rows. But 8pm bus came at 9pm and there was no seat for us as the bus was fully crowded. After pleading with them, they shifted some passengers to 7.45 Pm bus and they gave us only the last row seat. Then at Dindigul passengers who booked for the 8pm bus fight with us as we were sitting on their seats. The staffs in Dindigul has no idea of cancellation of 9Pm bus. Joy bus management told that it is the fault of red bus which booked seats for a bus which was in the shed for repairing works for 2 weeks. But when I asked Joy bus that y they have not informed be about the cancellation atleast on the morning of the journey they told that the chart would be prepared only some time before journey and after the preparation of chart only they came to know that we have booked a bus which was in shed with bad condition. After all these issue Red bus sill offers to book the same bus in their site. I don’t know who is the cheat here. Redbus or Joy travels or both. Probably Both
Not on time. Very worst behavior. Response very badly to passengers. Not stopped on bus stop. Very rude drivers.

all joy travels buses are in improper maintenance as well no good response shown by their employees. There is no timing maintenance for the buses from theni to chennai route. Please dont prefer this bus, if anybody aware to cancel the route please do the needful
