Kingfisher Airlines — Passenger Discomfort in spite of paying very high fares

I have been traveling between Delhi and Pune frequently - on several occasions they have been doing this without informing the passengers.

On May 14, 16 and 23, I traveled by IT 153, 156 and 150 between Delhi and Pune. They have charged me full fare for these tickets and were definably not cheap. I had the choice of other airlines also flying during the same time, but I wanted to travel in more comfortable settings.

However, they have now started operating this as a deemed Kingfisher Red with only the meals being provided. All seats were non-reclining. On top of this, because I knew this problem, I inquired at the check-in counters to which they said no such thing and they said it is a normal flight. The seats were most uncomfortable and being a tall person, it cased a lot of pain in my back and legs.

The only excuse that the inflight executives could come up with was that the aircraft was grounded. I would fail to understand that this be the actual case and they could not have informed the passengers in advance or while checking in.

I had written to the chairman and guestcare - their polite response was that we ackowledge your discomfort but cannot refund the money.

I think I deserve to get the money back at the very least - in other developed countries (such as US or UK), I would probably be able to sue them for physical and mental discomfort.

Please can anyone suggest a mechanism to get this redressal done.

Incidently, there is no way o filing a complaint on DGCA.

Thanks

Kingfisher Airlines — No Medical Arrangement in Flight

Dear Mr. Chairman,

Subject: Airline PNR:IOBRGB (No blankets or medication available for Passenger)

Passenger Name(s) Ticket No(s)

1. Verma / ShamLal Mr (ADT) 090-[protected]

2. Verma / Shivani Ms (ADT) 090-[protected]

3. Verma / Ramni Mrs (ADT) 090-[protected] (Cancelled)

I am writing this grievance to inform you that my family traveled from Airline PNR:IOBRGB on 16th May 2011 name Sham Lal Verma and Shivani Verma had experienced air sickness and Shivani Verma suffered with nausea vomiting and severe chills while from Leh To Jammu.

To my surprise no blanket or medicines were available to tackle the situation until they land at Jammu airport. We had tough time in air and which could have cost severe issues to her Life.

Please look into this matter and revert back with compensation. We give huge amount to travel through INDIA's class airline and this is what we get in return.

I have already paid a cancellation fee (2500 INR) for Ramni Verma who was also expected to travel by same flight from Mumbai to Del and Del-Jammu. I do expect lot from airline when i am paying. Please revert with your comments.

Thanks,

Reply by Kingfisher:
Dear Mr. Verma,

Thank you for your email of 17 May to the Chairman's Office, apprising us of your family's experience when they travelled Kingfisher Red from Mumbai to Jammu via Delhi on 16 May. Firsthand feedback from guests is indicative of our performance, and we appreciate that you have chosen to write to us.

We note that your family members, particularly Ms. Shivani Verma felt unwell while travelling on IT 3351 to Jammu, on account of the severe turbulence that day. We note as well your disappointment with the apparent non-availability of blankets and medication on the flight, and appreciate your concern for your family. With Kingfisher Red, we have endeavoured to create a product which would be of the best quality within the designated space, thus making a value-based travel experience available to many more guests. However, the product construct of Kingfisher Red differs from that of Kingfisher Class and does not include some amenities and services that may be available on flights offering the Kingfisher Class of service. We regret that you consequently felt let down.

We would however, like to share with you that we do carry medical kits on our flights and these have been stocked as per DGCA guidelines. If the crew was aware that Ms. Verma required medication for her nausea and fever, they would have provided the same to her. Your feedback has nevertheless been shared with the In-flight team to ensure that guests are assisted with care and sensitivity, so that they have a comfortable in-flight experience.

Mr. Verma, we are committed to ensuring that we consistently deliver a seamless and pleasant service to our guests, and thank you for your feedback. We value your patronage of Kingfisher Airlines and look forward to your continued support, as well as to welcoming you and your family on our flights again.

Yours sincerely,

Reply by me:
Dear Caroline,

Thanks for writing.

First of all, i am really disappointed with the delayed response. Further to that, i would like to express my concerns regarding DGCA guidelines with statement that- Your on board crew traveling from Leh-Jammu were not having blankets and medicines in flight irrespective of the LAW.

When Mr. Sham Lal Verma (My father) accompanying Ms. Shivani Verma requested for blankets from your crew members - to his surprise no blankets were there on board. Then, he pleaded other flight co-passengers for their blankets which indeed worked out as one 1 passenger boarded from Leh was carrying out with heavy jacket.

I am sorry, if my grievance is not fulfilled with a compensation- it will enforce me to lodge this complaint in consumer court. Please remember, "When you promote your airline as 'Class of service'", Kindly be assured of the services you provide. I want reimbursement of my cancelled ticket as a compensation or a compensation for inconvenience caused by KINGFISHER. It would have taken a life because of your silly mistake.

Please revert at the earliest.

When you are flying with Kingfisher Red, the aircraft is dirty ,unhygienic ,leather seats stained ,the seat does not have a head rest cover (the Velcro is put but cover not in place )due to exposed Velcro my chiffon kurti sleave got torn (all tread got pulled )that I realized only when on my return flight I saw the seat Velcro are without cover .

Kingfisher Airlines — High airfare

I was trying to book a flight ticket from Kingfisher Airways today for economy class from Bangalore to Mumbai one way. The fare being charged is 13000/-

This is too high. The normal airfare for this sector should not be 5000/-

How do we put a upper limit on what airfares are being charged per city by them.

Jiten
Dear sir/madam,

yesterday had a flight from bagdogra to Delhi flight number IT 3344 and on arrival to Bagdogra airport one of the luggage was lost and was not delivered to me. I spoke to Kingfisher officials at Delhi airport, filed a report and was told that by today late afternoon I was going to be contacted to tell me what happened from my luggage. Unfortunately so far no one contacted me and I really need this luggage in hand. I need that this be resolved very urgently.

king fisher lost my bag on 11th july when i flew from leh to delhi. filed a report then and in all these days have been facing unanswered calls 90 % of the time. well the 10% that i got through..the stories told to me were.. ur bag is being traced, now after 5 days it is considered lost, then ur cheque is already on its way, then suddenly ur bag is traced in taipei and we have requested for it. after that air india takes the bag saying its belongs to their guest, but later sends it back to taipei and since according to them flights from taipei are only twice a week the wait is endless. last night it seems the bag is sent from taipei straight to mumbai as i reside there. today i am told ..did u even fly by kingfisher? we r just doing a courtesy PIR for u.
there is absolutely no coordination between the delhi and mumbai office. if i want i can write names of all the staff who gave me these replies along with the dates.
great training for the staff given by king fisher...

Kingfisher Airlines — Fake Commitments and then no reverts

Sir ISI,

I just after the receipt of my e-mail communication on 26.03.11 made by Port Blair to chennai with e ticket no.[protected],[protected],[protected],[protected], through leisure Flies/Agency Chandigarh and paid cash to M/S Leisure Flies towards the said tickets. The air journey as per the details given on the tickets needs to be followed as per schedule. The return flight of Kingfisher No. IT -3634, on dated 7,june, 2011, from Port Blair to Chennai had been cancelled. And we had next flight for Chennai to Kuala Lumpur By flight no. 9W- 32 on 08/06/2011 by Jet Airways at 0001 hrs.

That I was not given any information by Kingfisher Airline or its agents up to the time on 07.06.11 that they could not be able to provide me the contra trial service and accordingly reached to Chennai airport to catch my next flight for Kuala Lumpur of Jet Airways, (9W-32). So that we had missed our flight. And there was no one there on Chennai airport to look after us and provide the correct information for the same.

At Chennai air port at the critical situation Kingfisher staff had shown its inability and have failed to re-arrange my journey from Chennai to Kuala Lumpur.

That after the arguments with both the airlines (Kingfisher and Jet airways) on I found that that no arrangements have made by Kingfisher and Jet airways to make arrangements in next flight for me and my family.

Due to Contractual obligation. I was forced to be awakened the 2 days of me and my family at the airport to request again and again with both the airlines. Nobody was listening us.

That even in spite sending me or getting me shuttled mercilessly from one desk to another and from the terminal to another and giving me a lot of harassment. Jet airways could not make any such arrangements for which I was air lifted from Chennai. During this period I was put to sustain both physical and mental torture, tension and torments.

That later in the evening, I was bluntly refused by King Fisher and Jet Airways to make any such arrangements for me and my family. Me and my agents despite a number of requests was made repeatedly apprising of the emergency due to my tour on 8.6.2011.

That Kingfisher thus has put me at such a critical situation where I could not take the tickets of the others Air Lines as all flights by the time were fully booked reportedly nor even Jet Airways or any other airlines had made any arrangement for my journey to Kuala Lumpur.

That because of the said totally unprofessionalism of and too bad service of the Kingfisher. Because of this it was a really too much embarrassing for me in front of my family that after a very much long spell I was taking them to on holidays.

That the contract from the side of Kingfisher having me in between in Chennai by packing me up from Port Blai and making no arrangement for my onward journey. They left me hang in the air. I have suffered there pairably both physically and mentally by the deficient service of Kingfisher.

That if there was the problem on account of air craft or any thing then the kingfisher has incapable of dealing with the situation I should have been informed in advance so that I could have made the alternate arrangements with other Air Lines at my own within the permissible limits/leave. I was only told when no such remedy was made available with me and all the seats of other Air Lines were overbooked by 20 passengers.

That I was left by Jet airways with no other alternative their taking me to Kuala Lumpur at my own last incurring their with all incidental expenses on account of deficient service of Kingfisher.

That because of the said deficient service of Kingfisher I suffered the following primary Losses Amount of tickets for the contractual journey Ex. Portblair to Chennai and Chennai to Kuala Lumpur

Apart from the after said primary loss worth Rs. 42800/- I have also suffered the mental torture harassments and torments on account of non–cooperative attitude, harassments, rude behaviour of Kingfisher staff in Chennai and misleading of Kingfisher in Portblair/Chennai besides suffering the physical agonies and loosing the fair chances. In lieu of the sufferings harassments, torments and agonies – the mental as well as the physical as elaborated above I claim for the compensation of amount of Rs. 42800/- that I spent on air tickets of Air Asia Flight AK 247 from Chennai to Kaula Lumpur (on 08/06/2011 at 1750 hrs with Boarding Pass Number Z85CVM seq number 152 to 155 with Seat Number 31A, 31B, 31C & 31D).

As such, you are requested to compensate me with the amount of Rs. 42800/- within a period of fifteen days for unwarranted situation created only due to failure on part of Kingfisher otherwise I may go in for a suitable remedy approaching the forms as available constitutionally to the citizens of India and the consumer under the consumer Protection Act without prejudice to my other rights and remedies.

Yours faithfully,

Kingfisher Airlines — irresponsible company

For my ticket having PNR - PZDEEQ from Chennail to Pune, which was cancelled at Chennai Airport on 22nd August, till date I have not received refund, although it was said refund will be made within five days.

Morevoer on making a contact over the phone nos., given on the cancellation receipt provided at the Chennai airport by Kingfisher office, which seems to be a letterpad of Kingfisher, over the phone no. it was refused to deal in regard to Kingfisher. The Nos. are[protected] and[protected]. I am surprised why Kingfisher is providing such nos. which does not belong to kingfisher.

Moreover On calling from MTNL phone from Delhi to another no. [protected] as given over your website, it says that number is not in existence. I am not sure where to call flykingfisher. Another nos. like[protected] I did hear kingfisher music for more than twenty minutes but no representative answered.
