[Resolved]  LG Refrigerator — Poor quality of shelves

I had purchased a LG 310 Litre fridge in 2002. Within one year of the purchase, the acrylic shelves cracked right in the middle and i had to use adhesives to paste it and pulling on somehow.

Then i managed to purchase a new set of shelves from chennai and these were also acrylic shelves and did not last long and i had to again resort to the used of adhesives.

I had lodged a complaint to LG on 17 Jan 08 stating my predicament and i received a reply from them that needful will be done to set right my problem. Service engineers from pune division also visited my house and took measurements of my fridge and provided me with plastic coated wired shelves. But the shelves did not fit into my fridge and they were big in size.

I had made number of attempts to contact LG pune branch and spoke to Mr Narendra Pal who is in charge of customer care at Noida. On 26 Feb i also spoke to Mr Pradip at Customer care Noida who informed that there is no way that i can be provided wired shelves for my fridge. He also refused to give any contact number of higher authorities for addressing my grievance.

I am now regretting my decision of trusting the LG brand and im not able to use my fridge and not sure whether i should invest in a new fridge at this juncture.

I would be greatful if i am told a way to give it back to the company for its irresponsible behaviour and lackadaisical attitude towards customers

I totally agree with each and every person who have complanet above, i had purchased the LG cabinet refrigerator of 850 liters capacity i am using it since last 6 years, but whenever i have complanet for any problem they had given a complent no. from custmor care, and they were making reason like their is no one in the house so we had gone back. But they have not even call and comformed the persone is at home or not. So i totally agree with every one that the service of LG company is not gud if any person from the company is getting this message then their is serious request that make sure that the customer is getting proper service or not, otherwise it will effect to company only because customer will not purchase LG product and also dont insist any one to purchase LG products...

MESS detail from ME and CUSTOMER CARE :

ME : I had complanet for my 850lit refregerator that it is not working and all the food and other things which are kept in it are getting degraded,
CUSTOMER CARE : we are sorry medum for all the problem i am giving one complane no. and our exequtive will reach soon to your address.
ME : I have complaned a lot for this thing but no one is comming for this complane what is the problem.
CUSTOMER CARE : Our representative had comed to your home few days ago but he told no one was their at home.
ME : Let me tell u sir i am having a dog at my home and one permanent servent at home so it is not posible that no one is their at home,
CUSTOMER CARE : Ok medum i will forward your request and our representative will contact u soon.

THIS ARE THE STORY WHICH EVERY TIME I AM GETTING WITH THE COMPLANE.
since from last some period my complane nos are,

Each and every time i am getting the same reason from customer care, if any person from the company is reading the mess then their is a humble request to make strick action regarding the complains so that customer gets setisfy by LG company...
i had bought lg double door ref in 2008 within 13 month i got prob abt chilling effct i hve to pay 1000/ for repaire to lg enginer very poor refg mod gl265 i suggest not to buy this ref
I had purchased Lg 466 Lts refrigerator on 15/08/09. On delivery we found in bad condition i.e. both the doors damaged. We recd the delivery in bubble wrap & not the cartoon pack. Hence we informed Croma Mr. Jenitton Lobo & Miss. Nisha. who promised us they will look into the matter. Ultimately Mr.Nadeem visited our res.& confirmed that the Fridge supplied was a demo piece, he tried various efforts to remove the stains on both the doors, but to no positve results. Ultimately he confirmed with his service superiors that both the doors will have to be replaced. Till date it is really painfull to note that even after speaking with 1) Mr.Abhishekh mob:[protected] 2) Mr.Shivprakash mob: [protected], 3) Mr. S Salvi mob : [protected]. calling each atleast five times everyday and paying Rs. 35, 000/= this is the service a customer gets. I belive LG does not care for any brand value.

i agree mr. sanjivkumar comment, lg refrigeretor shelves are very delicate. pl u chenge shelves customer refrigeretor, reply me, my email. then i send my address. ok. thanks.
I had bought a LG refrigerator on - 8.4.2009 - :LG Freeze 478 YLQ, 440 cc from Kunal Electronics, (0 [protected])

In July - Aug.2009 - insufficient cooling - temperature around 20 C

Nov 2009 - stopped cooling - Complaint no. C09B0104681 - complaint registred on 1.11.2009 and no response till 36 hours. On severe following a person came and found that the circuit box is not working and that he will get back by day end. the circuit box was not in stock. He did not come that day & even the next day. On again follwoing gave a time of the third day morning. He came with a box which was not relevent to the refrigerator we have. It took another 24 hours for them to bring the correct box. In he mean time they had promised a temporary replacement of the fridge. there was again a failiure in this - the transport could not be arranged and hence they could not replace on the scheduled time. The service center had offered to then replace it after 3 days. this was not working as the circuit box was to be replaced within the next 24 hours.

this the condition when the refrigerator is still in warranty of all parts till april 2010 and 5 year warranty of the compressor.

I need a replacement of the refrigerator

LG Refrigerator — Cheating by LG with common customer in India

I have purchased LG refrigerator (double door) Model in the year 2008. (model No.GL268LMG4-ALIZEBN(IN), Sr.No.804NL.TR001537.
Now it has a cooling problem. I have lodged the complaint on 23rd of November 2009. The complaint No. is CO9B2320275. While registering the complaint, LG representative (Mr.Amit) assured me that the engineer will visit to my place within 24 hours or engineer will call me. Nobody was reported for next two days. Then I again contacted customer care (Mr.Nikhil). He talked to me very rudely. He told me that he is helpless. They can just take the complaint, but could not assure that the engineer will visit to our place or not.
It is a matter of great regret that such a big brand company is cheating the common customer by providing the bad product with the lowest quality as they are not bothering to give the service to the customer after sales. Their main intention is only to sell the product. After selling the product, they are not providing any service to the customer, as till date, no engineer has contacted me neither they have visited to attend the complaint after 5 days.
It is therefore requested to give me a proper justice.

I had purchased a lg refrigerator model no.19TMTon 5.9.05 from s.g.complex Thrissur. Before one year of purchase its plastic shelves broken. But i don't post any complaint against it. now i am not using that shelf.
now my problem is that my fridge has no cooling and all my food stuffs are being damaged. i noticed the problem and i called l.g.service centre . i also noticed that my fridge is not cut off . a service technician came on 17.2.2010. and he checked my fridge. he told that the THERMOSTAT has to change and also wire covering of freezer door also has to be changed . he also told that all these parts are presently not available because the fridge model is not available in the market.
till now i don't get any service from l.g technician. now i am regretting in the purchase of an lg product. VERY VERY POOR SERVICE AND POOR QUALITY PRODUCT.
what is this? why u are receiving complaints?not caring customer satisfaction and not doing after sale services makes a company in degrowth. i complaint for many times and there is no reply and nobody came and solve the problem.
my refrigetor model no.19tmt, purchase date 5.9.05 is not working for the last 14 days.we are in deep trouble because it is very hot season.

3. In span of 1 year I have paid a lump-sum amount to the company towards the refrigerators repairing charges & Cost of new compressor etc. Breakdown of the compressor came just after 4 years from its purchase, which is a very short time for a breakdown of a product from such a branded company.
4. After 1-2 month from the above, I filed complain to your end. Your workman
came for its repairing but only minor works were done by him. We again filed
a complain on 01.01.10 for which your company people came and changed the
Compressor and again charged us for Gas filling.
5. After changing the compressor for the 2nd time, the machine worked for not more
than 1month & again ceased to work.
6. Further, I filed a complain and I requested your company people Mr. Arvind and Mr. Bhupendra Bharadwaj to pick the refrigerator from my house and repair the refrigerator to stop any further problems arising out of it. You kept the refrigerator under your supervision for a month or so and delivered it to us on 14/15 May and stated that “now your refrigerator is in proper working condition”
7. Further, just after 15-20 days the problem again supplemented, for which we filed complain at your place. Your company sent 2-3 person/executive to our home and after checking the product they said that
“Now the refrigerator is not in the working condition.”

What happened to the product in 15 days that your opinion changed for it?

Disappointedly, we want to state that we are not at all satisfied by your response. We have incurred repairing charges and other misc. charges amounting to Rs.10000/-(approx) (some of the bill no. are 5522, 7145, 7223), and freight amounting to Rs.2000/- on it and after so much of our input, your company’s’ workmen are stating that refrigerator will not work further. This won’t be entertained by us at any cost.
We don’t want any sort of money refund from your end. Since, it has just been 4 years from date of purchase of the product which is not a long time, so we don’t want any sort of refund, just we want is our refrigerator in working condition as soon as possible. Breakdown of the product in such a short span of time shows the poor quality of the product.
I would advise you to take care of the quality of product rather than just marketing them which would help you to stop ruining your company’s image in the open market.
Please do the needful at the earliest, so that we are not forced to take any further legal action against you.

Even i also purchased LG Refrigerator on 11 of november 2009. i also faced the same problem. i have registered the compliant on 19/7/2010. Afeter 2 days also no one has come and solve the issue. I called customer care but i am getting proper feedback from them.So its requsted to give the proper feedback

It is amazing how so many people have the same complaint pertaining to the poor quality of the plastic shelving system in the LG fridges and yet there's no official response to any of these complaints and grievances. Our shelves have been held together by adhesive and wires for the past 5 years now. I would be glad if someone could tell me, where in Delhi I could find a possible replacement of for the shelves. I have no hopes from the company!! Atrocious is the only word i can associate with LG at this point !!!
LG refrigerators are junk - why any manufacturer would make a shelf that attaches to the fridge with metal brackets which are then attached to cheap plastic brackets which then attach to the glass shelf - definitely wasn't an Einstein who thought up this crappy shelving. All of the plastic in this fridge gets brittle and cracks or breaks everywhere - I think there were meant to fall apart to force you to buy again. I tried replacing the shelves but the US won;t ship to Canada and the repairs shops here want $200 for one shelf - may as well buy a new fridge for $400
PS and it sure as hell won't be an LG

The quality of plastics used in making refrirerator is very cheap and it breaks like papad.
My fridge's every shelves, freezer door, vegetable tray all break in 6 months and they say that it is not covered in warranty.
