[Resolved] LG Refrigerator — Cheated by LG authorised engineer
I bought LG refrigerator Model NO. GR- S592QLC, Serial No. J96-405KR00052 four yrs ago. It was working fine till june last year until one fine day the door of the refrigerator came out. I called the complaint center and the problem was rectified. But again after a week the same problem occurred and I complained again and again the problem was solved but this time the engineer Mr. D.S. Chauhan who came to attend the complaint call told us that we have to get the door replaced for which the approximate cost is Rs.10000/- and on the other hand he said that incase I take the Annual Maintainence Contract (AMC) the door will be replaced “free of cost” as it is covered in AMC contract. As we know that usually the AMC does not cover spare part replacement so I asked him in particular that are you sure door is covered under AMC and he asked us to be rest assured that the same will be done but after 15- 20 days of taking the contract. So, finally he sold the AMC to me at the cost of Rs 5400/-.
The refrigerator was again working fine till about 2 months but then suddenly door came out again. This time I complained again but to my surprise I was told that MR. D.S. Chauhan has sold AMC to me on a wrong promise, changing of door was not covered in it. I felt cheated and called the Area Sales Manager, Mr. Arun Rawat- he was co-operative and said that he understand that AMC was sold on wrong promise and since nothing is written on the paper only help he can do is get the door repaired “free of cost”. OR buy new refrigerator and he will offer some discount on it. Mr Arun sent the engineer to take the door for repair after 14days and there was no responsibility taken to give the standby refrigator for the particular period.
I am told that you have no spare parts available for this particular model as it is not in production any more.
One representative of your company told me that there was fault in the design of the refrigerator (the door is made heavy) so I should not keep anything in the door. What kind of solution is this??
Last time when I complained – the engineer was well prepared with the answer that he cannot help me on this issue anymore.
As I would have known earlier I would have not bought the AMC rather I would have gone for new door. My AMC money is wasted and also incase LG found out that there is some problem with the design it should on its own recall the refrigerator and replaced. This is pure negligence of the company. WE the consumers have to pay for it and now there is nobody responding to my emails and nobody contacting us. I am left with a defective refrigerator.
I keep getting emails from MR. Aseem Khan that MR. Janak Doshi will get in touch with me but no one contacts.
Now the door is repaired atleast 4 times but still it keeps coming out, I cannot use it anymore. Last week when LG repaired the door I told them repair it only when you are sure that it will work otherwise give me new door. But as no spare parts are available for this particular model they assured me that the repaired door will work for long.
Is LG responsible about this issue???? Is the life of their product so short??? If yes, then they should not commit any promise of good product. If LG feels responsible then why don’t they contact me.
