[Resolved]  Living Media India Ltd — Fraud Practice of Selling Products

This is the complaint I have made on 28/04/2010 and many more e-mails done to the company but nothing has been done so far and neither they are cancelling the orders on the pretext that the orders were processed from their side, where as I have not received any previous orders and the orders which were taken as TDS has been delivered without any confirmation from my side within three days. Helpline persons are not giving any telephone numbers of the responsible person and now they have also blocked my mobile and are not receiving my mobile number.

My name is Atul Sood and email address is [protected]@yahoo.co.in and mobile No:[protected], On 15/04/2010 I received a telephone call from a reputed group Living Media of India Ltd a sub group of India Today Book Club that I have been selected for the lucky contest of the organization and I can win a huge amount of money i.e. Rs.60,00,000/- and at this stage a consolation prize of Rs.10,000/- is sure in my name but I have to purchase some selective items from the company. I placed an order of one Philips Portable DVD amounting to Rs.7,490/- Vide order No:[protected]. Second day again a call comes from the above company that I have been selected for the consolation prize of Rs.30,000/- minimum and can go to the higher prize and for this I have to purchase some item from the company. I asked the person to send the detail of the items online at my E-mail. He sent the details online and asked me to pay telephonically only. On luring practice he make me to purchase an Whirlpool RO system of Rs.14,598/- vide order No:[protected]. On the very next day a person given his name Mr. Pright Selvin posing as HOD of the Company told me that I have won the Prize of Rs.2,65,000/- after deducting Income Tax and the cheque in my name is to be finalized only after giving some more order, for which I denied by saying that I have all the Items with me but he forcibly/dramatically prepared a Package of One Samsung Omni worth Rs.14,998/- one Samsung Home theater worth Rs.7098/- and One Whirlpool Microwave worth Rs.7598/- . when I told him that I can not pay a huge money he lured me by giving some fake id Nos. and activation codes for withdrawing the Prize money I have won i.e.Rs2,65,000/- and thus taken the order and charged me through credit card and given me the order Nos.[protected],52 & 53 resp. This is not the end on 22/04/2010 one more call comes from Tel No.[protected] a lady given her name Ms.Sweta told me that I have won the 9th prize of Rs.3,00,000/- and I have to Pay the TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) amounting Rs.29,996/- in two installments immidiately. I told Sweta that the TDS should be deducted from my prize money but she told me that the Prize cheque will be issued from the Head Office for full amount and I have to deposit the TDS from my side only. I deposited the amount vide order No:[protected] and order No:[protected]. I come to know about the foul play only after I enquired about the status of the amount I have deposited as Tax Deducted at source. The help line person told me that I have placed the order of two more Samsung Omni Mobiles through these payments I also asked the helpline person to give an appropriate Telephone Number of some Marketing executive for which he denied that the company does not allow him to give such informations, which is very astonishing matter in the public service sectors. Now I am wondering about the huge Money amounting Rs.81,786/- is at stake they have charged through my credit card by giving fake informations and using the name of very important act, of Income Tax, which very shameful crime by such Media organization. You are requested to kindly give the exact picture of my money or cancel the unnecessary orders which were taken by me after giving wrong informations and refund the money immediately with in 24 hours. Otherwise I have to file a case in Consumer Court and also lodge a complaint with Deptt. of Income Tax of India.
