www — scam about winning a lottery

i got a spam from toyota japan about winning a lottery ...is that true or it's fake???

I received a notice that I had won 850, 000 British Pound Sterlings from an internet drawing called TOPAZ from a Microsoft Jackpot Lottery in London, England. They say that in order to receive this payment I will have to send them $1364.35 through Western Union and I will receive a check that I can cash in any bank in the United States withing 48 hrs. Naturally it is extremely inviting. They have called me day and night relentlessly. Funny thing, though, they say they are calling from the UK, however, the accent is that of some other country which sounds more Nigerian. Has anyone else received this notification? Is it a scam or not?.

I looked on www.fraudwatch.com and a similar name came up but it was based in Brussles. Also I called the Police Dept. in London and of course they advise me not to send a cent to them which I have not done.
