[Resolved]  Manhattan Credit Card — credit card dues

I had a Manhattan Credit card issue to me a long time ago. I had made a transaction of Rs 940 in October 2007 and in April 2008, i have got first call regarding the same amount's non payment.

I have never been sent any Statement copy, other than email. The requests have fallen on deaf ears and there is no record of my calls, as per your bank.

There was one transaction done by me in the month of Oct'07 and till date i have not received any single physical copy of statement. Neither any call from any of your executives.

Yet i am at fault and i need to pay up.


I had earlier made a request to change email address, so that i could keep track of things, in the absence of a physical statement being sent to me. Even this was not done and looks like any record for the same has been erased.

Never did i get a call from the bank for so many months about the amount due. Looks like they want to deliberately make the customers fall in the trap, of paying higher amount.

However looking at your Fair Deal policy, i see the following

7.1 To help you manage your credit card account and check details of purchases/cash drawings using the credit card, we will offer you a facility to receive credit card transaction details either via monthly mail or through the Internet. Credit card statement will be dispatched on a predetermined date of every month which will be notified to you.
"

Isn't it a violation on your end also? But i am being made to pay 3 times the amount, for which i did the transaction. Atleast an executive could have found time to call me up. I am being told, that we had called up ONCE and you did not pick up the call. WOW isn't it. In 5-6 months you could manage to call only once?

These are your bank's ethics?? I hope this time also, you will fail to do anything.

Could someone tell me, how to contact the ombudsman for this issue?

i purchased things from SBI credict card,but i paid the amount from my iob net banking, but the amount refunded and i didnt received any statement to my mail id, iam confused .iam getting only sms to my mobile, wht to do ?
