With regards it is brought out I am the proud owner of the prestigious Maruti swift car VDi, and am writing you this letter after facing a lot of harassment from your Authorised Dealer M/S Modern Automobiles, Indl area Phase I, Chandigarh. To explain it to you, I would like you to know the full chain of events of my turmoil and punishment for getting my car serviced from your Authorised service Dealer M/S Modern Automobiles
To start with I gave my vehicle for service on 09.06.2010 as it was missing after it had run through water on the previous rainy day. The whole problem was explained to their service advisor Mr. Parmar Soni who was very prompt in issuing the Job Card No JC0002714 . On the same day after ringing him for many times, he informed me that the vehicle had been serviced and all the problems sorted out. When I went to take the delivery, I observed that non of the problems had not been rectified. After having a talk with the works manager Mr. Jagdish, I was assured the he will personally look into the matter the next day and see what the problem was?.
Sir after running after him for three days, I ultimately had to ring up Mr. Prince Dua ,who rang up Mr Jagdish and only then he instructed his supervisors to check the vehicle.
Sir ultimately when Mr. Dua visited the workshop, during his routine visit my car’s engine was opened for diagnosis and it was found out that the vehicles problem was a case of Hydro locking. It was then informed to me that I could get the Insurance Claim for the same.
A surveyor was immediately appointed by The New India Assurance who personally had a talk with Mr. Jagdish and he had informed him the limitation of the Insurance Company as to what amount could be given.
Mr. Jagdish without consulting me ordered for the half engine assembly, and misguided me to the extent that he had a word with the surveyor, and that the claim would be approved by the Insurance Company. On consulting the surveyor, it was clarified that he would only pass the claim up to the loss of connecting rod, and at the most he would give one piston only.
Sir again when I contacted Mr. Jagdish he informed me that as he did not have a skilled engineer to repair the engine so he had ordered for the half assembly ,otherwise the problem could have been rectified by changing the engine block and a single piston 7 connecting rod.
On persuasion for ordering the block he expressed his inability as he had already ordered for the Half Engine. However he advised me to contact the Maruti personals myself and do the needful. Here I would express my thanks to Mr Prince Dua who had always gone beyond his powers to help me and he did whatever was in his power to sort out my problems, but thanks to Modern every step taken was nullified.
Ultimately on 30.06.2010 after having been harassed for a month the Engine block arrived but without the connecting rod which was not ordered by Modern Auto.I was informed the they had to order it in VOR but as Maruti was in strike it may take time to get delivered. Like always Modern failed to procure it from the other Dealers. As God helps good people, I came to know about C.M. Auto and purchased the connecting rod there.
Again on refitting the parts it was informed that part no 1197N86J00 was not available with them and they had ordered it.Everytime a part was required it was not in stock which is very surprising. Sir ultimately the part arrived and the car got ready on Saturday 10.07.2010.
After Mr Jagdish’s assurance of testing the vehicle for a half day run by Sh Parveen and Sh Parminder the technicians, and I paid the full amount of their bill no BC 10002396 & TOOK THE DELIVERY of the vehicle. As I started the vehicle and put in the gear the vehicle jumped and hit their gate damaging the right side of the car. I immediately called the advisors who then checked the car and told me that during fitting of the engine of the car they may have damaged the cable assembly to the gear with the result the car only worked in 3rd & 4 th gear. So this is the type of road test taken by Modern people which results in damaging the vehicle.
Again Modern did not have the gear cable resulting in leaving the car for repairs. Sir with the help of C.M. Autos I purchased the gear wire (bill no 859 DT 12.07.2010) and got my car repaired, but on delivery again the gears were in play. I was unable to shift in gears. I again brought the car for repairs and they changed the bush (bill no BC 10002417) but what was found later was that the cables near the gears were not correctly fitted by them.
Now today I had again go to Modern as the car is slipping the RPMs on gaining power.What is diagnosed is probably the clutch plate (again not sure).Sir it is a surprising that how car car which had run for 40000 kms without any problem has developed so many problems in a day and how they were not diagonised earlier and how the car was running without any problems before coming for service to Modern.Everytime they have misused my helplessness to benefit themselves.
Sir on inquiring every time it is their standard reply that their Owner Mr. M.S. Vij is not interested in the agency and is earning a lot of money (WHICH IS A GOOD THING) by investing in property , so they are helpless in providing good technicians and investing in the workshop.They have to work with minimum funds and each rupees if spent extra is deducted from their salary, so they only order material if required RESULTING IN DELAY.
Till date even after spending Rs.60000.00 in parts and labour I am not able to drive my car ,it is been a ruthless experience for me. For more than one month, twice a day I have been traveling in a taxi to Modern to supervise my cars repair progress. Besides spending money they have harassed me till the brim. Sir it is been a ruthless experience for me so please help me and let me know as to where and how can I get my vehicle properly repaired
I am attaching all the parts and repair bills along with the Job Card so that you can see for yourself as to how a dealer is spoiling the name of Maruti which is known for Customer satisfaction.All these facts are true and are known to Sh Prince Dua who is a witness to the whole facts
