My husband received an employment offer from McFadden Construction Inc.
Upon reading the contents of the offer, it is very lucrative and too good to be true.
McFadden is a Ghanian company and why would they offer a salary in British
Sterling Pounds. And, opening the website of this company, there is no such
job opening.

And, the most important of all, NO FOREIGN EMPLOYER WHEN RECRUITING
EXPATS FOR EMPLOYMENT WILL ASK THE SELECTED CANDIDATE TO PAY
FOR THE EXPENSES IN GETTING WORK PERMITS, WORKING VISAS AND
THE LIKE AND THEN WILL BE REIMBURSED BY THEM UPON SUBMISSION
OF RECEIPTS. IT IS ALWAYS THE EMPLOYER WHO WILL PROCESS
AND PAY FOR THESE DOCUMENTS.

Let me share with you the exact workings of the Employment Offer that my husband received. After reading, you will really realize that this is really a well-planned fraud, most probably run by very intelligent people. Beware, I don't want any one to be victimized. Please read on.

CONTRACT APPOINTMENT LETTER
DESIGNATION: SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER

1.0 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

After evaluation of your CV and work experience(s), we found you qualified to work with our team.
Hence, McFadden Construction Inc. seeks to employ your services for the provision of expatriate
services as stipulated in the following acts and conditions herein. This document embodies the
approved terms for the purpose of this contract.

2.0 JOB LOCATION

The work location will be in Accra-Ghana at McFadden Construction Inc., be sure to report to the HR
Manager/Representatives upon arrival to conclude prospects of screening and other logistics.

3.0 SALARY INDICATION/ALLOWANCES & BENEFITS

BASIC MONTHLY SALARY: GBP 15, 200 (Fifteen Thousand Two Hundred British Pounds Sterling)
Travel Insurance, Medical Insurance, 4 Bedroom Flat in McFadden Construction Inc., Staff quarters,
Toyota Camry 2005 Model.

HAZARD/INCONVENIENCES: GBP 410 (MONTHLY)

CAR MAINTENANCE: GBP 500 (MONTHLY)

HOUSING & FURNISHINGS: GBP 2, 000 (MONTHLY)

4.0 JOB PROCEEDING/REQUIREMENT:

You will be expected to resume working at posted location McFadden Construction Inc. After your
three weeks training/orientation here in McFadden Construction Inc. HEAD OFFICE; Work shall be
25 hours a week (5 hrs a day) for two (2) years contract term. Fridays are work free day for our
Muslim workers employee shall also be entitled to over-time allowance if their work time exceeds
the official stipulated hours. Salary shall be liable to Increments with time and employees' official
promotions and service. This is with effect from the 27th of March 2009.

Any selected candidate for McFadden Construction Inc. not presently possessing a valid Residence,
Work Permits, Visa shall be expected to personally incur all expenses as shall be related to the
processing, procurement and acquisition of their necessary permits clearance papers with the
Travelling Counselors and shall be duly reimbursed and will be substantiated with receipts and
McFadden Construction Inc. will reimburse the employee not later than seven (7) working days after
submission of employee's expense report and receipts.

You shall be required to furnish us with your valid Ghana residence and work permits papers on or
before the 9th of March 2009 as a proof of readiness to join the McFadden Construction Inc. project
team in due time as stipulated above for your job resumption with McFadden Construction Company
in ACCRA and also to enable you to receive your first monthly salary including your due
entitlements/emoluments prior to your departure for services with the McFadden Construction Services

Note: All GHANA based employees' are to report personally to our office in ACCRA-GHANA with their
their documents (including the contract document) for identification, signing, and collection of
hard copy of their contract documents. this is in line with the expatriate statuary law of the
GHANA in compliance with the U.N. Terrorism Act.

5.0 GRANTS & LOANS

OLD SCHEME HOUSING LOAN: 1 year service to McFadden Construction Inc. is required for
eligibility. Starter's amount will be GBP 21, 971 can be re-paid within 10 years with GBP 0.00
interests.

LIEU CAR LOAN: All employees are eligible to apply. Starter's amount will be GBP 12, 045 can
be re-paid within 5 years.

TRAFFORD BUSINESS LOAN: All employees are eligible to apply starter's amount will be
GBP 15, 000 to GBP 30, 000 annually, contact the accounts department for more details.

6.0 LEAVE PERIOD

Employees are entitled to 3 times leave a year. The duration of the leave is One Month each.
Employee will receive GBP 5, 000 take home for each leave period.

7.0 FEEDING& ACCOMMODATION

Employee is expected to reside at the McFadden Construction Inc, Staff quarters if they so wish.
There are double bedroom and flat options for employee to choose from. Family package status
is available for employee that wishes to Re-locate with family. Employee is entitled to take meals
free of charge at the general staff canteens. Dietary options, customized cooks and dieticians
are available options.

8.0 MEDICAL EXPENSES

Employer will provide the employee with comprehensive health care for the term of contract, and
follow-on care for injuries suffered during the term of contract for employee and family.

9.0 UPFRONT PAYMENT OF SALARY/ALLOWANCES & BENEFITS

The three months salary (Inclusive of all allowances & benefits) shall be paid in advance before
employee re-locates to new job location.All payments of salary after assumption of duty in Kumasi
Ghana shall be 75% paid into an offshore bank account to be provided employee with remaining
25% paid in cash to employee. This is in line with the British Expatriate Financial Statutory Laws.

10.0 OFFICE GADGETS TO BE PROVIDED

LAPTOP COMPUTER: 1.6 GHz Processor, 512 MB RAM (Pentium M), 24XCD-RW, 60 GB Hard
Drive, Floppy Drive, Integrated Network Adapter. Internal 56K Modem, Spare Battery and
necessary software shall be provided for workers in the administrative, secretarial, architectural,
layouts and designing departments. Full time internet access for all workers.

11.0 SAFETY & SECURITY

Safety and security of personnel (local/foreign) facilities on job locations and communities are no
small issues, and have been seriously considered to ensure and assure hitch free operations. All
operations on job location are designed to adhere strictly to the standards of Ghanian Health and
Safety Department (GHSD) and Ghanian Environmental Health Authority (GEHA) as applicable in the
civil engineering, construcition and environmental health sector.

12.0 ADDITIONAL SERVICES

Recreational/Sports Facilities shall be made available at the disposal of all employees with no
expenses to be incurred. Laundry and dry cleaning service will be made available to employee
by the quarter's laundry and dry cleaning unit on request.

13.0 TRAVEL PLANS/RELOCATION

Expenses made/incurred by the employee related to job before commencement of duties shall be
substantiated and reimbursed by the employer on teh conditions stated below:

1. The employee will be reimbursed by the employer for reasonable moving expense(s) incurred
ONLY as a result of relocation, early termination of leases, storage charges and procurement
of travel document, immunization and etc. Reimbursement shall be made before employee
embark on his/her trip to GHANA not later than seven (7) working days after submission of
employee's expense report and receipt from country of origination.

2. Free GHANA flight ticket will be issued to the employee by the employer as soon as the
employee sends copy of visa work permit to the employer.

3. Reimbursement shall be made ONLY those who applied for them.

4. Expenses made by the employer in relation to house hood equipments (e.g. TV, DVD, Desktop
computer, etc) pets, and other personal assets shall not be reimbursed as these would be
considered employees responsibility.

5. Employee is strongly advised to keep original receipts and evidence of payment(s) of payments
made before arrival in GHANA as reimbursement applications made without receipt or evidence
of payment shall be denied.

However, for expatriate who do not have valid GHANA visa and work permits papers, are to make
contact with our official travel agent here in GHANA for the procurement of visa and work permit. Below are contacts of the travel agent for directives and assistance on the acquisition and procurement of valid visa and work permits.

Serene Travels Inc. will require some documents and processing deposit which you must send to them
for the issuance of your Ghana visa/work permit and approval letter which is very important to obtain Ghana visa and work permit.

14.0 THE CONTRACT AGREEMENT

14.1 This agreement supersedes and replaces all previous contracts, written and verbal, between the parties and constitutes the entire agreement between the parties.

14.2 Neither party may assign their obligations nor rights under this agreement to any other person in any circumstances whatsoever except with the prior written consent of McFadden Construction Inc.

14.3 No waiver of any breach of this agreement shall be deemed to be a waiver of any other or subsequent breach. the failure of either party to enforce any provision of this agreement at any time shall not be interpreted as a waiver of the provision.

14.4 This agreement is constructed in accordance with section 6 of Ghanian Employment Act Bill 2000. A Single arbitrator agreed upon by the parties shall decide any dispute between the parties arising out of this agreement.

I received an employment offer from a company named MCFadden Construction Inc. I found out that the offer is too good to be true. The company does not even conduct an interview whilst sending a direct employment offer to us. They also instructed us to communicate with the Serene Travels of which they will process our work visas/entry permits. Most of all, we are the one to procure all the formalities amounting to $1730(USD). Hope you can track this illegal transactions.

As per my past experience all employers pay for the working visas, no matter where you work overseas. Anyways who gives a job without an interview (noyone).

Totally fake. i got same type of offer letter and found it totally fake. Whenever you get such type of offer letter stating that visa and etc. are to be applied by the employee, its totally fake Because visa, work permit and all other immigration docs. are applied and produced by employer.

Just been to the Ghana Embassy and confirmed the offer is too high. The company web site is off now and the travel agent as well.

The job offer is almost identical as one that posted in the net and ask to contact Serene Travels Inc.
