Sir, I got a mail from Microsoft Corporation stating that i won a consolation prize of 1.9 million Great British Pounds through the Microft Lottery Sweepstakes.The mail was received from MICROSOFT WINNING LOTTERY PROMO 2008 <[protected]@microsoftlottery.co.uk> . Redmond, WA 98052. BL4 4PZ, lONDON. Ref: BTD/968/08 Batch: 409978E. They asked me to give a reply to Mr.Newton David(Fiduciary agent) to his mail id <[protected]@live.com>. I did it and he confirmed that i have won the prize. He then asked me to contact their affiliate courier firm by email. Stated below is the courier contact details given by them for immediate delivery: Mr James Brown Peter, Unit 98, Evens Business Center, Belgrave Street, Bellshill Ind Est Bellshill, ML4 3NP London, United Kingdom. Tel: +[protected]Fax: +[protected] Email:[protected]@live.com. I contacted the courier company through mail and they now demand certain amount to be paid for the delivery of prize amount to me as cheque. I here humbly request you to give me the details that whether the mail received by me from Microsoft Lottery is fake or true. she has sent them a email to confirm her identification numbers given above. When she told me about this i douted that it is a criminal scam. So when i searched about this in google i came across a website
( www.consumerfraudreporting.org ). this website informed that scams like one my sister got are sent by cybercriminals to steal your email ids to misuse it. they can hack your email ids to steal your bank details, credit card details and many such information to misuse your property.
SO DONT RESPOND TO SUCH EMAILS OR SCAMS AS THEY MAY PROVE DREADLY.
