[Resolved]  Muthoot Finance — counterfeit/ fake notes issued by muthoot bank

On June 21st i went to muthoot finance connaught place , new Delhi branch to remove money transfer sent to me from my husband in Canada. The cashier handed over 49,044 rs after receiving cash i went to deposit the same in icici cp ,new Delhi branch. Where while depositing the cashier in icici bank told me 1 of the note is counterfeit serial no. 9CD957923 and i will not be getting it back instead he will issue me a note for the counterfeit note brought by me .I tried a lot to make him understand that i received it from muthoot finance office and if he gives it back i can go back and claim them for giving me fake note. Instead icici cashier showed me RBI guideline that they keep those notes which customers get to them knowingly or unknowingly and issue them a receipt so for me the value of my mine is zero in shape of a paper. I went back to muthoot showed them the slip and told them i still have Rs. 4000 with me so they have to take it back as i am scared these will also be counterfeit and give me Rs. 1000 which is been taken by icici and how can they get and give counterfeit/fake notes to their customers. Yes to my surprise they have no machine to check fake notes they only rely on human eye ,instead of taking action on my complaint the Manager shamefully refused that they cannot help me. Such a big financial institution takes no responsibility and shows a daring act of totally refusing to help an customer. Its about if an financial institution like muthoot finance can run counterfeit notes how do we trust anyone else and how about our money which other bank keeps and you receive a paper instead for bringing fake notes. I hope somebody can bring this to stop.
