[Resolved]  Neelkamal Enterprises — Reg:2nd -3rd AC Coach

Dear Sir,

I travel regularly with my wife and son in 2nd AC and if berth is not available in 3rd AC. Recently I traveled
from Kacheguda to Nagpur in 2nd AC Coach on 12th March 2009, in Sampark Kranti Express departure from Kacheguda 8.25 am arrival Nagpur 17.10, again from Nagpur to Bhopal on 14th March in Sampark Kranti Express departurein Nagpur 02.20 arrival at Bhopal 08.15, Train no.2707, PNR No.[protected].

1.The Coach Attendant did not supplied face towel, after demanding complaint book, it was not provided by him or by TC.During journey time Coach Attendant was not available, either he was sleeping in some other AC coach or went to pantry car during journey.

2.I saw hawkers in 2nd AC, after complaint Attendant said they are for our facility as such they were allowed.

3.2nd AC OR 3RD AC COACH the in between shutters must be kept closed during 10.30pm in the night till next day 06.30am for the safety of passengers, but the shutters are always kept open, just for the facility of TC & Coach Attendant.Kindly note during night if someone wants to enter AC Coach he can do so just by cutting rubber provided between two coaches, and he can do what ever he desire with the passengers.

4.A.C. is always kept on AUTO mode by the technician, for his own convenience, he should keep the switch on MANUAL mode and he should check in regular interval regarding satisfactory working of AC.

5.SERIOUS PROBLEM TO NOTE:- Normally I saw that Coach Attendant accept parcels from originating stations to deliver them to some unknown person at arrival station, after taking money for the service. But these days looking towards terrorism it is just possible that some terrorist may give parcel with any unknown address on it and that parcel may contain time bomb, which will explode after departure causing heavy casualty. Please do surprise checks specially the space provided to the Attendant to keep linen, etc. also to enquire and give strict instructions not to accept such parcels.

Please do reply the above complaints and also see to it that these are dealt in proper manner for safety of passengers.

Regards

Complaints about bed linens supplied in the trains

I travelled with my wife and daughter in 2A, coach HA by Jnaneswari Express 2102 on 1 March 2009 from Howrah to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus. The bed linens supplied in the trains were deplorable. The Railway authorities normally supply 2 bed sheets and a face towel in a packet in addition to a blanket, a pillow in a pillow case in loose conditions. In each of the three packets one of the two sheets was supplied in unwashed condition, as if by design. On our complaint, the attendant brought a few more packets but one sheet in each of the packets was unwashed and some were dirty. The pillow cases were also stained and looked unclean. If the articles in the packets are so bad, one can imagine the state of cleanliness of those items like blankets etc. which are supplied in loose conditions. One wonders if they are washed at all. DO YOU REALISE THE KINDS OF DISEASE THE UNCLEAN BED LINENS AND BLANKETS SPREAD? Railway Minister ( Mr Laloo) brags about making so many thousands of crores of profit for the Railways. Why can’t they spend a small amount to supply clean linens to the passengers? Or is it that the Railways spend the money but a part of it goes to meet some other needs? How many times do they clean the blankets? It should be for every trip. The Railways can be held responsible on the charge of spreading disease and endangering the lives of the unsuspecting passengers.

Neelkamal Enterprises — 2nd- 3rd AC -

I travelled with my wife in 2A, coach A1 by A.P. SAMPARK KRANTI EXP.2707 on 14 March 2009 from Nagpur to Bhopal . The bed linens supplied in the trains were deplorable. The Railway authorities normally supply 2 bed sheets and a face towel in a packet in addition to a blanket, a pillow in a pillow case in loose conditions. In each of the two packets one of the two sheets was supplied in unwashed condition, and in both the packets there was no face towel . On our complaint, the attendant bought two face towels and also changed the dirty linen.

HUMBLE SUGGESTIONS:-

The packets supplied by the Railway should be sealed and note is written that do not accept if seal is found broken. Moreover surprise checks of these packets, pillow cover & blankets should be carried in all the trains and if found dirty or without face towel strict action is to be taken against the contractor and The Coach Attendant. It is duty of Coach Attendant to bring to the knowledge of immediate senior authority else he is also responsible.

Normally they take out face towel, and the excuse is that if lost we will have to pay for it.

Neelkamal Enterprises — Coolie :

Dear Sir,

Recently I traveled between Nagpur, Sampark Kranti Express, Train No.2707, departure 02.20 on 14th March in 2nd AC Coach, PNR NO.[protected], with my wife. At the Nagpur station, at 02.00am there was no Coolie available, after I saw one I told him to take my luggage from Platform no.1 to platform no.03 and to board in Sampark Kranti Express .I was having one suit case weight 18 kg, another suitcase weight 14 kg, and two average hand bags having weight of 5 kg each.

The coolie demanded Rs.150 from me, and due to no other option available at that time and also myself was operated recently and due to this restricted to lift the weight, I had paid Rs.100.00, do you think this is a reasonable amount he has charged from me.

Although at some railway station charges are mentioned, even than they do not pickup the luggage till passengers agrees to there abnormal demands, moreover if you had a negotiation with one particular coolie, than even if others are available no other coolie will pick your luggage, compelling us to agree to their unreasonable demand.

I request you through this complaint that this type o[censored]nreasonable demands are checked with proper display of boards whom to contact even in night hours with their office telephone nos and mobile nos.Strict action should be taken if harrasment is found.Passenger always want to pay if the demand is reasonable.

Suggestion : Railway station, having population more than 1 Lac, on every platform one prepaid booth is introduced, if require you can charge certain percentage for covering the cost of booth, the passenger can visit the booth with coolie and amount is deposited at the counter and receipt is taken, this receipt passenger can handover to the coolie after luggage is kept at the desired place. This booth system will be similar to the booth system provided at Railway Stations for Taxi.
