[Resolved]  Nokia — Non 3G Nokia N73 handset

My self Rahul Dave and i am lived at GONDIA CITY.(THIS IS 150 KM DISTANCE FROM NAGPUR CITY.AND ALSO A DISTRICT) i lost my nokia n-73 in my city...which is bought last one year ago.it is silver colour... my nokia pnone`s imei no. is [protected].i give a complaint in my city police station...but i have no received proper responce... can u plz help me on this...matter...i want to know which sim no..present now in this phone...my contact no. is [protected]...if it is possible so plz help me on this matter...and sorry to take your precious time...i wait for your reply... ...plz reply sooooooon...

I purchased Nokia N73 handset in sept. 2007. I bought this handset because of it's 3G feature. To my shock after a few days of purchase i came to know that this is Nokia N73-5 RM 132 handset and it is not a 3G handset. The fact is Nokia has 2 variants of Normal N73 handset.
1. N73-1 which is RM 133 handset and it is 3G handset.
2. N73-5 which is RM 132 handset and is a non 3G handset.

Nokia has nowhere mentioned on their website about non 3G version of N73. There are only two versions of N73

1. N73 Normal and 2. N73 Music Edition. And according to Nokia both are 3G handset.

My question is why is Nokia fooling us customers like this ? They are selling a non 3G Rm 132 handset at the same price of RM 133 3G handset. This is unfair practice. I sent many mails requesting replacement with RM 133 handset but all replies from Nokia stated that they are not in a position for replacement.

Will nokia change my handset with a 3G handset ? My handset is still under warranty
how can i find/update our device for 3G and when.

I bought my Nokia N73 in China at full price just after the first version was released. I know it is a genuine Nokia as I have tested it toward the nokia website, but it is a RM-132 with no 3G support, even though it says so on the box and in the manual that it is a 3G phone. I used it for 6 months in China before moving back home to Norway and they have no 3G in China so I thought at the time I didn't get 3G cuz they don't have it, but when I got home I relalized it still didn't have 3G support.
I have tried to upgrade the firmware on it too, but with my curent Norwegian provider SIM card inserted, NSU keeps saying no udated firmware is available yet I have v3 and I know for a fact v4 is out...

Nokia N 73 — regarding their their functions

i bought a nokia handset N73 2 months before but now their functions are not working properly the set is giving the following problems:
1. Hanging Problem
2. Vibration
3. camera
4. Battery problem

my name name is vaibhav and i brought a nokia N73m on[protected] and today is[protected].
i always use gprs on my n73 and installed lots of software in mmc but my phone memory is full i dont know how ?
i format mmc and remove all software but still phone memory full then i decide to show it to nokia care
i told them all problem and they said me ok will satisfy u and u come in evening to receive it
and when i go there to receive my n73 they told me that " your hand set have some hardware problem during during sotware updating thats why we send u r mobile to dehile and it will come after one month"

so tell me what should i do ?
shall i wait for one month ?
i m not felling well without my cell
it is my 1st cell

which one is a 3g handset in between n73 and n73m? what is the differance of mrp between this two?

wen i go to buy my n73 i saw dat both da normal edition n music edition have same features, where da normal edition lacks are, memory card provided, headphone n color..but da cost is also Rs.2000 lesser.so i bought da normal edition . in 2008 der is no 3G services in india. in 2009 wen BSNL lunches 3G i tried it but unable 2 do so though its features written with 3G den i perceived da reality. its realy bad we trust nokia for its brand image. see wat happend its da real reason why sony ericcson left nokia behind. dey disclose der problems early or before purchese, , never keep secrate like nokia.. if i got to kno about dis before i may opt for n70 music edition which is a 3G enable set. my frnds always pinch me who bought n70 ME "i bought da phone in Rs.9500 i got 3G u bought ur phone in Rs 11500 u dont have dat " see how it feels whn u pay more with bigger negative points den da positive ones.

my nokia n73 is also not 3g, how can nokia do this to us all, i think all nokia handset of this type should be replaced even if the warenty period is over.

Hi Yash Khanna,

You can check your Handset is 3G or not easily. Go to any mobile network site and go to 3G tab and you can check whether your mobile supports handset or not.
