[Resolved]  Nokia - E62 — Defective set and poor service

I have purchased Nokia-E62 of your company make by considering your brand of much repute by ignoring all the other companies. It may not be out of place to mention here that i am using mobile services since the day of beginning when using of mobile was considered as a luxury in India and from day one i have got the same number and i am using your brand since then Nokia i.e. 3310, Nokia 1100, Nokia 6800, Nokia E62. As i need keyboard of the whole digits firstly, i got Noika 6800 which is still working with my clerk. But when i saw your add in the paper i opted for E62 but it didnt work properly. I purchased the mobile set on[protected] against bill no.3591 bearing set no.[protected]. But the same got a defect in the month of June 2007 upon which i contacted Nokia care center situated at shop no.1, Ranjit Plaza, Bhupindra road, Patiala. Those people kept my mobile for than a fortnight and when I contacted them thrice, they told me that your mobile is under survillence and we will infrom you later on which they didnt bother. Again I contacted them at their shop where one of the person sitting there told me that it has got some water retention and they will charge Rs.1400/- for getting the mobile OK. Having no option i had to pay Rs.1400/- but under protest as my mobile set was still under guarantee period it was new set and there was no question of any water retention. When I demanded receipt for the payment, the person sitting there very reluctantly issued the receipt. Thereafter again I was asked to come after a fortnight but again the mobile was not got set right by them and i was asked to contact in the next week. Again when i contacted on the next week, I was given my hand set but that was again not working. Again it was given to them which they returned to me after a fortnight but without yielding any result. When I lodged my protest again they took it and kept it with them which they returned after a week but that was without any result. Now again the mobile set is with them for more than a month and my repeated telephone reminders, visits proved futile. Every time I had a talk with Mr. Harjinder Singh (Mobile no.[protected]) and every time he would say that i will send a mail to the company to get you a new mobile. Seeing no alternative now i have lodged a protest with your good self hoping that you will replace my mobile with new set. I being a professional person does not have enough time to visit time and again at Nokia care and get the same reply and that too without any of my fault. The receipt no. vide which they have charged Rs.1400/- is 2228 dated[protected]. So soliciting a favourableand prompt action from your side this time.

Nokia - E62 — Nokia - (Service Centre) Duping People.

Last Week, A Friend of Mine Visited Me With his E62, that is just brought three Weeks Back, Asking Me to Check His Mobile, If There was Any Virus In It.

I gave it a Try by Loading My Favorite 100 % Fool proof Kaspersky. And Told Him there were none.

The Problem with the Mobile was that, somehow the Joystick did not work and the Email Key Got Depressed (Depressing is the Correct Word ...IT WAS indeed a depressing Experience) automatically on the thought of pressing Any Other Key.

I told him, as the Set was under warranty, I better not put my screw driver to it and rather asked him to take him to a nearest service centre.

Next Day Morning, The First Customer ( Bakra .. I will call him henceforth ) at the Service Centre, was my dear friend( Sometimes, even I hate his punctuality, and I think, even he regrets now). Welcomed with a cheesy smile, the phone was documented and taken for repairs.

Within a Sparkle of time, the Service Centre Operator Came Up With a Glee and a Sparkling Smile, that There is Water Logged in the Cell. ¿ . My Friend just sunk with his heart in the Logged Water as the So called Service Centre Executive ( Executioner) mentioned.

The Phone Just Bought in Summer and the Friend is not a person to carry his Cell in the Loo, where most people drop them, while exchanging SMSes, asked him to show the damage.

After Few minutes of waiting, He Got to See the Flooding in the cell phone, All Clogged in Water. My Friend Was So Surprised and Speechless. The Service Centre Was a Good Psychoanalytic kind of person, who told him, look, the Chip need to be replaced and will cost him 900 bucks.

My Friend, seeing no other options, gave him a go. By the Time in an Hour he contacted me and explained me the scenario, I asked him to bring back the Handset At Once. This Bakra, went back asked him the handset. ...LO and Behold!!!(Sometime, i do like to use the wordsworthian) "Your Handset is ready Came the Reply" So Prompt for a Service like Nokia ...

Chip Did he Replaced? The Gentlemen Will fully told him that it is a Crystal IC (my version: Integrated Circuit) / (Their Version: I’ll Cash)]. I told him to Ask the number, which was not provided by him, saying it is called a Crystal IC. Even a Part Number was Not Given, Which I am sure of Every Engineering Company Follows.

Being An Engineer Myself, I have never seen an IC, which are not numbered. Secondly I hardly believe that the Service of the Said Part Did ever happen, as the instruments for Soldering such a precision Component would never be there in such a small service centre.

Now, the Phone Lies at the Service centre, waiting to be done by their Head Office Repair Centre.

The Atrocities of the Nokia Service Centers:

1. First Problem 8 Out Of 10, they will point out Water Logging and Water Clogging.

Never take this service Centers By their Words. Ask them to Pack it up and Go to another. Most reliable one i found is at Andheri Sakinaka in Mumbai, which I assume is not a franchise like the one, my friend got webbed.

The Incident Happened At the Cellular World Borivali Shimpoli Service Centre Near Gokhale College and I think it is a High Time These Service Centers get ethical to their business, else, they will have to face a consequence, that will drag them down on the roads.

While My Friend Still Waits For the Handset to Come Back. With No Real Feedback .Please Pass this Story To Every One You Know, I am Sure Each One Of Has Been A BAKRA once or many times by these Crooked Nokia Service Centers.

i totally agree with u, and the nokia people should be sued for mental harasment and cheating, ppl from nokia shld change thier attitudes they might be taking thier their number one position in india for granted, i have many freinds who have been thro similar ordeal, the attitudes of nokia priority dealears need to be checked by nokia, no wonder many hardcore nokia lovers r changing to O2 or sony.
