[Resolved]  Pan Card Application — PAN APPLICATION REJECTED TWICE FOR INORDINATE REASON

Address:Alappuzha, Kerala

My PAN card application was rejected twice because of

1) Name in Proof of Residential Address does not contain middle name and last name in expanded form as mentioned in application.
2) Name in Proof of Identity does not contain middle name and last name in expanded form as mentioned in application.

Here in Kerala usually we use abbreviation of our initials within matriculation, license certificates etc.

AS per PAN Authorities Instruction:

“Individual applicants are allowed to provide abbreviated ‘Name to be printed on the card’. The abbreviated name should necessarily contain the expanded Last Name/Surname.”

I filled the application with the initials in expanded form as instructed above.

I use my father’s name as the initials and in abbreviated form. It was also mentioned in the application and certificates(Matriculation & License). But they rejected it by telling those strange reasons above..

Still I didn’t get my PAN card and I don’t know what to do!

this is regard pan card complaint : NSDL IS SUCH A NASTY ORGANISATION who are interested in collecting petty amounts in the form of penalties and for the incorrect information given by the lot of applicants. like above complaints like first name, middle nmae, last name. mostly indians will have first or first two. while filling it does not accept just first name. because of this reason nsdl takes advantage of applicants and rejects it for reapply. they never bothered to give a next chance to rectify the mistake by the applicant but asks to repay again the application fees. some body responsible at nsdl may deny this with statistics of rejected application money received as of now.
Has the PAN Card issuing authority forgotten that India is a nation with diverse people writing their names in different way? Why don't they just accept the name as appear in the matriculation certificate. Why initial is not accepted for someone whose official name is written with initial instead of in full. Here the irony is, we have first name with initial in the certificates but in online PAN form initial is not accepted by the inhuman system. As the system will not accept one letter, we tend to enter the expanded form of our initial. To our anger the application is rejected citing that name do not match. Obviously it is not going to match, even a small kid will say it does not match, the sad part is that the learned Indian issuing authority is not able to recognise the different way of writing names in various Indian states. The citizen is penalise for what is not ones fault. I am a victim myself. One small correction in the online format by accepting initial will solve this ambiguity. The name appearing in PAN card and in official documents will be the same which is "NOT" in most cases at present because of the way the system(program) is created.
