The MEA always saying that they are processing the passport application in 1-2 months and they want to reduce it by awarding the passport sewa contract to a private company i.e. TCS. But the contract is only for the Processing of the application. Neither the TCS can collect the application nor they can do anything on their own.
I have a bad experience with the Passport Office, I applied in Delhi RPO on Oct' 09. These guys have made some grouping based on the region you are living in. I am living in Gurgaon, Haryana, and they entered my file in Delhi Group in stead on Haryana Group. When I went to the Passport Office after 2 months when no Police verification happened, they are saying that this mistake happened. and for recrification of that mistake I was forced to write a letter to the RPO/PRO to transfer the file from wrong group to the right group, even though its not my mistake. And after writting 3 letters in 4 months and visiting 12 times they transferred the file and now waiting for the police verification.
In such scenario, what TCS can do, if their Stupid clerks do such mistake.

I have applied for passport on 13.09.2010 and my file no is o028450, Police report is clear and the same is displayed on your official web site. As per the status updated on your website passport was to be dispatched by 11th Nov'10.
Kindly let me know the exact status as I have not received the passport till date.
