[Resolved] Pune Rto — Refund of Lifetime Road Tax after Transfer of Vehicle from Pune to Bhopal | |
I purchase my car in Pune, Maharashtra in 2008 and paid Lifetime Road Tax to Pune RTO at the time of purchase. Now I have transfered residence and car to Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. As required by Bhopal RTO I have again paid Lifetime Road Tax to Bhopal RTO. I was earlier told by Pune RTO Agent that I would be able to get a refund of Lifetime Road Tax paid to them once I pay Lifetime Road Tax to Bhopal RTO and show that receipt. Now both Bhopal RTO Agent and Pune RTO Agent are informing me that that may not be possible and I need to pursue with PUNE RTO Authorities separately. The Lifetime Road Tax for my Toyota Innova is a sizeable amount and I need to know how to pursue for a refund from PUNE RTO. Can anybody help ? Was this information helpful? | |

Same story in hyderabad. The RTO are uniformed goondas!!

my story is almost the same and have the following questions if anyone can answer them and please answer only if you are authority in it.
1) when we pay life time tax the Invoice is made up of two things a) Ex showroom price b) 12.5% of (a) as VAT, now why is it that we have to pay tax on the VAT.
2) why is it that when i change states and go to a new state I have to pay the road tax on the original invoice value and not the depreciated value (even the Incom tax calculates 15% per annum as depreciation)
