[Resolved] Railway Platform license Holding Vendor for Milk Products and Cold Drinks — Overcharging on the products.
I was travelling by Sampark Kranti Exp. from Banglore to Nagpur on 30.03.08. I purchased a Packet of Amul Butter Milk on Platform of Ballarshah Station (Maharastra) and gave Rs. 10.00 Note out of that nothing had been returned by the vendor stating that the price is Rs. 10.00 only. However after carefully noting the printed MRP on the pack (Rs. 7.00 only) I asked him for the excess money back that he clearly refused stating that he charged Rs.3.00 extra for cooling the pack. Even after argument with the vendor he refused to either take the purchased product back or return the overcharged amount. The name of the Shop License holder is some ashok kumar.
Similar incidences are very common specially on almost all the railway platforms where the vendors overcharge on water bottles, snacks packs, biscuits, sometimes even going to the extent of 40-50% more than the MRP. Since the travellers are in hurry and in absence of any proper place to lodge a complain, the harassment continues.
Where can a complaint be lodged for such incidences and what proofs are admissible against the miscreants.
