[Resolved]  Reliance Industries Limited, Allahabad Manufacturing Division, Naini, Allahabad — Illegal Termination from the Services using muscle power

Sir,
We, the 28 Executives are working in "Reliance Industries Limited, Allahabad Manufacturing Division, Naini, Allahabad" for the last 10 ~ 17 yaers ( variation due to different joinings ) with devotion and hard work. We have been promoted and appreciated time to time. we have wone many prizes too.
Even after having fine record, we were called from our duty and were forced to resign. Some got feared and resigned. Those who denied like me, were thrown out of the Company gate using Muscle Power. Our Identity Cards were also snatched. Our Employee Self Service System was also locked immediately. Further, the Management despatched our Termination Letters mentioning the reason "the loss in Polyester Sector". It all happened with most of our coleagues between 11.06.2008 to 13.06.2008.
We approached to concerned THANA and SSP Allahabad, but they were asking the same language just like our Management. We informed to Mr. Mukesh Ambani and DM Allahabad too but our efforts went in vein. Further we filed petition in Deputy Labour Commissioner Office but the result was same. However we handed over a GYAPAN to DLC Mr. A. K. Rai but he gave no responce.
Earlier we were never informed before this shameful episode, even a short while ago too. Moreover, the President of the company Mr. Mahaveer Prasad Garg's Services have been extended even after his retirement in 2003-04. More than 40 new Executives were joined during last one year. Further they got promotion too. The Company Balance Sheet and Mr. Mukesh Ambani's delaration of 13.22 % profit on general meeting with Shareholders.
This is the total conspiracy of Mr. Garg and his low profiled nears and dears to get extention in Service Period as well as promotion too.
We have liabilities of our old and patient parents as well as wife-children. After facing this shameful episode and black days, we have no more strength of living.
May we hope for justice from your forum ? However we have no detailed knowledge about your forum but we have come to know it as Forum of Justice. Kindly help me as soon as possible. It is because our innocent children are asking various such questions for those we are answerless.

Dear Sir,

This is in reference to getting electricity pole installed in Malviya Nagar, regarding the same i will like to tell that i am a resident of 301, Malviya Nagar, Allahabad-211003.

Their is an electricity angle with high tension wire installed, nearby to above mentioned address, it's a place from where on average 1000 of people move everyday, that angle is some 50 years old and could lead for any major accident anyday.

Sir, we have already complained this matter to Uttar Pradesh State Electricity Board, and they came also for installation of POLE, but due to some obstinate and political party members residing there, simply for the sake of their own & personal benefit are not allowing UPSEB team to get the POLE installed, and are threatening them.

As above to avoid any major accident, will request for your interference, so that proper safety could be given to UPSEB electricity pole installation team, and consequently installtion of POLE.

Cansome one please pass this message to electricity department for installation of a pole, instead of angle to avoid any major accident, which seems to be most likely.

• Identification of high-risk operations/activities/processes along with
Sr. Officers of plant.
• Selection of appropriate tools and techniques to address the risk.
• Employee training for the use of selected tools and techniques.
• Constitute a team for specific operations/process.
• Facilitate to the team about use of tools and techniques and evaluation for its effectiveness.
• Evaluation of risk through risk analysis -

Internal Audit

• Ensure provision of in-built safety systems & instrumentation’s etc.

Emergency Preparedness (Minimize losses)
• Identifying the existing emergencies in coordination with concerned department head.
• Developing emergency plan and procedure.
• Employees training on emergency preparedness.
• Ensure availability of necessary emergency equipment.
• Conducting Mock drill (known/unknown) to find out gaps.
• Develop action plan to mitigate the gaps after discussion with officer concerned.
• Follow up for implementation of action plan to over come short comings.
• Inspection/checking of emergency equipment time to time to ensure its functioning.
• Review and updating of emergency plan considering new hazards.

Chemicals storage & Handling
• To identify chemicals, make list & updating.
• Prioritize them according to risk/consequences.
• Educate the employees about safe storage & handling as per the MSIHC rule.
• Monitoring.

Occupational Health check-up & work environment monitoring (for healthy work environment)
• Conduct work place environment monitoring (i.e. dust, gas, noise, illumination etc.) as per OHSAS-18001 norms.
• Make action plan for engineering control & implementation.
• Identifying high exposure area to occupational health/ergonomics.
• Preparation of health check-up schedule in coordination with Doctor concerned and area in-charge.
• Ensure the releasing of workmen from concerned areas on priority basis.
• Give feed back to plant heads about health condition of the employees.
• Make action plan for engineering control and implementation.

Accident Investigation & Reporting
• Verification of accidents through first-aid and also by direct communication from plant.
• Constitute investigation team from different discipline (i.e. Operation, Mech., Elect., Inst. & Safety)
• Identifying the root cause of accident through why- why/fault tree analysis.
• Discussion and emphasizing for Engineering control to avoid recurrence.
• Preparation of report and circulation to officer concerned.
• Reporting as per statutory requirements.
• Follow up for recommended control measures and review with plant head.


Environment Health & Safety committee Meeting (Ensure involvement of employees)
• Constitute safety committees at section as well as plant level.
• Conducting meeting in the chairmanship of Sr. Officers of plant.
• Review of implementation status of previous minutes.
• Review the implementation status of inspection, audit observations.
• Review the accident analysis report and its Engineering Control measures.
• Follow up for implementation of suggestions came in meeting.
• Conducting annual safety meeting at plant level.
• Preparation of report

Safety Week/Camp & Environment Day, Earth Day Celebration
• Deciding type of competitions to be organized in coordination with plant chairman committee.
• Constituting different teams for different competitions from different disciplines and provides training to them.

J.S. A.Competition
• Identifying accident prone activities on basis of past accidents and experience
• Facilitate to team to find out Engg. Control as a preventive measures and secondary protections also

HAZOP STUDY Competition
• Identifying hazardous processes
• Facilitating to team to find out scope for design improvement/modification and instrument control measures
