[Resolved] Residency Pharmacy — Chemist - Unfair Practice
Recently i was shocked to see the behavior by Residency Pharmacy on Residency Road (besides Bangalore club main gate). I had a prescription with 3 items, 1) A.I Lotion 2) Microdox-DT (skin antibiotic) 3) Multivite FM (vitamin tablet) Initially he asked me the reason for purchasing only one medicine. I told him that i had taken the tablets from a store near my place but the first medicine was not available at all stores since it had to be prepared. The last 2 times i had taken at Cash Pharmacy. Since the doctor who prescribed the medicine had told me explicitly not to go to Cash Pharmacy i thought let me search this place and get the medicine from this store. He insisted that i will need to buy all the medicines in his shop. Only this time he would dispense the first one. I asked him what was the problem in dispensing only one medicine and why is he forcing me to buy everything from his shop. To this he threw back the prescription and told me that i could go and buy it from else where. i had taken the same from Cash Pharmacy on Residency road. Is it fair practice by the chemist to insist buying all the medicines at his shop ? Also his pricing for the same lotion was 125INR as compared to 85INR charged by cash pharmacy. He behaved rudely with me so i was thinking, to expose such rude behavior to public. Is there a place where i can lodge a complaint against such unfair practices by the chemist ? When i told him that it was available with Cash Pharmacy but since the doctor had mentioned this store specifically i searched for it. He started shouting and told me that cash pharmacy cannot prepare this medicine as they do not have the formula. How can a store insist me to buy all medicines at one place ...he was very rude to me ..isn't this unfair practice by the chemist ? He was giving me lame excuses like, there could be problems if he dispenses the medicine because of reactions from the other 2 tablets. Since he is not aware of what the other medical store has dispensed. If this is really his genuine concern, how come he was ready to dispense this time ? As a customer i have all rights to purchase only one medicine from a given shop ...isn't it so ? Appreciate your inputs in this regards. Thank you Best Regards, Vivek Was this information helpful?

25.2.2014 had 2 ointments and 30 tabletS, of which the patient already had the tablets and asked for the ointments, which the owner of The Residency Pharma kept a monopolistic condition of buying the costly tablets, if the patient needed the ointments or he would not dispense the needed ointments, at all. Thereby flouting all the government rules.
