[Resolved]  RN *SUPERPASS from REA — illegal charge

This RN *SUPERPASS FROM REA is charging me monthly the amount of 34.99 USD without a reason I need refund these amounts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On September 2, 2010 my wife asked why I had used her account to charge $14.99 at a local convenience store using her VISA account . I told I did not, but there was the charge pending to "Superpass", their customer discount card. I spoke to the store and asked them, but they had no record of a transaction on that date. For the last 5 days we have been trying to figure it out what the $14.99 was for.

On September 7th I looked at her account further to see if there were any other transactions for the same amount under the same name. Lo and behold, the 2nd of each month she was hit with same charge of $14.99 from RN SUPERPASS FROM REA XXXXX1343 WA starting on July 2nd, 2010. That still did not make any sense to her.

Therefore, I Googled the exact name on the check card transaction: RECURRING CHECK CARD XXXXX3183 RN SUPERPASS FROM REA XXXXX1343 WA we discovered a slough of complaints and scam reports.

Going backwards through our collective memories and e-mails, we found the ONLY, and I mean ONLY, online transaction made via the Internet using her check card was to Travelocity.com for a hotel room on 6/18/2010. 14 days before the charge occurred.

When I Googled "RN SUPERPASS FROM REA" I found a 14 day Free trial offer on the home page of "Real Superpass" <http://www.real.com/superpass> an entertainment service. We NEVER signed up for anything of the sort and can only conclude it is somehow piggbacked o nto the Travelocity.com tranaction without our authorization or knowledge since that is the ONLY occassion we gave out our credit card information in the 6 months prior to the charges beginning.

We will be contacting VISA and our bank regarding the three fraudulent charges as well as Travelocity.com, the Ohio Attorney General's office and REAL Superpass. This is a blatant case of fraud and it will be addressed.

Look at your credit card transactions and see if you used Travelocity.com at any time prior to the "RN Superpass" charges commencing on your account. That may be where your problems began. Best of Luck.
We just had the exact same thing happen to us. We have had 2 charges of 14.99; how my info (banking and e-mail) were given to this company is beyond me. The last customer service rep I talked to could not clearly state the call id # and hung up on me for using profanity. I have never used travelocity. I can't believe this company is getting away with this.
Today I was looking over our Visa acct. statement and found that an amount of $14.99 was charged to our acct. on May 1, 2011 and again on June 1, 2011. I just contacted the credit card company and asked them to investigate where this charge is coming from because this is something we did not authorize. The customer rep. said she will block our acct. from charges from "superpass" for one year and will ask that the charges be removed from our Visa. This is crazy how they can just get into your acct. and charge without authorization...
Today i as well was going over my moms checking account, she is in a nursing home and i help her with her bills. I was shocked to find the charge from superpass on her bank statement!!! she has VERY little monies with NOTHING to spare. I am working on getting her money back to her and heading to the bank first thing in the morning. I had called the number on her account she was nice, but I just can not believe they could not give me any information as how this came to be!!! they have the information but can not give it to me. this is very upsetting and then luckly i have stumble on to this site, and from what i have seen this superpass hs been getting away with this for far toooo long!!

I just found or noticed these same charges on my checking account and will address them as soon as the bank opens on Monday!
I don't even visit this website. They have deducted money off a card I don't ever use online, only check the balance.
They same thing happens to me but I did not use Travelocity I used Rhapsody music. I cancelled my subscription from rhapsody but still got a charge for this thing called SUPERPASS. I called to get a refund. They asked how I signed up for their services. I didn't even know what their service was. they said I had signed up for McAfree antivirus but I use a Mac and never have a problem with viruses. Plus I never received an e-mail or McAfree software to download. This company is a scam. Like the other person said, they piggy back on other services and hope people don't realize their card is getting charged until it's too late. if you try to call to get a refund they will tell you they can't. Ask to talk to a manager and they will give you a confirmation code and put you on hold. Everyone speaks in a heavy accent so it's sometimes hard to understand them. I receive a text that tells me anytime my cc has been charged, that is how I caught this scam early on. I will make sure to let my friends know DON'T USE RHAPSODY MUSIC!!! And from the other stories here I will not use Travelocity either.
I have no idea how they got my credit card # or email. The customer service rep I talked to could not state the call id # . They offer to give back one month charges but make you sign and email a form saying you will not pursue further. This is a viral fraud scam and they are getting away with it.

I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY AND SUPERPASS FROM REA CONFERENCE CALL. THEY CLAIMED I SIGNED UP FOR MCAFREE ANTIVIRUS. I ALSO HAD A RHAPSODY ACCT WHICH I CANCELLED. GOT MY MONEY BACK AFTER BEING ON HOLD FOR 1 HOUR AND 4 MINUTES AND I HAD TO AGREE THAT I ACCIDENTLY SIGNED UP FOR IT!

Someone needs to put this company out of business and file charges against Comcast for giving them our credit card information so they can access our accounts Looks like a class action lawsuit to me!!
Someone needs to put this company out of business. I also think a lawsuit should be filed against CXomcast for providing these people with our credit card information so they can put these false charges on our Credit card.
I was charged twice, and I did not notice that from my credit card statements! Had absolutely no clue what are Superpass REAL charges for $35 and $36 (includes US to Canadian $ exchange rate). I googled and got to this web site, I was like OMG it is REAL Player related charges!, Logged to my real player account, yes they have charged me twice and next billing was due on June/2012. But could not remove/cancel my payment; instead it gave me number[protected] to talk to a Real Player agent, who embarrassed me saying I agreed to their conditions by clicking to yes/agree button and provided with Credit card info to this effect . Long story short, when we download something free for certain period (also provide Credit card info) and we often ignore FINE LINES saying these charges will be coming up after the end of trail or such period.(Legally REAL Player is at no fault)
Lesson learned life by spending $70 ! Lets make a promise to ourselves, we will not sign and agree to terms and conditions without fully understanding.

I just got off the phone with my bank to cancel an unauthorized charge of $14.99 made to our account March 30, 2012. They are filing a complaint, changing the card that was used and will stop payment on the charge. It was the first of such charges. I let it go last week when I first noticed it but when balancing the check book this week something about it was wrong, the name was not familiar to me at all. So, I called my bank. They said they will contact the vendor to stop the charges. It was husband's card and he does NOT do anything with Real Player, Travelocity or Rhapsody... he doesn't go online!! We recently subscribed to Comcast.
