[Resolved]  Santro xing — Premature clutch problem

My Car is a brand new Santro Xing. I have just completed 2nd free service and the third free service is due. I am experienced driver of my CAR. No one drives my car except me. My average use per day is 20 kms. I have used other Car for more than 4 years. It was a surprice for me that the clutch had failed at 4500 kms. Service centre say that it could be because of my driving style which I am unable to accept.

I came to know that there are more similar cases. Even clutch failure at 500 kms.

I suggest Hyundai to look in to this kind of issues.

hyunday santro — very bad service

hello sir we got the worst service we buy the car in january and till now we got two service for our car and they are worst first service very poor and second one was very poor. and there is no action taken we have complaint many time in the office and in the head office kindly hepl us. we buy car from sunrise hyundai near i.p. Ext. kindly help us from where we get the last service or take serious action.
I too face the same problem. I bought a Santro Xing GL in April 2008. The car is rarely used as I commute by the company bus. The first service was done a few weeks ago. The total kms done so far is only 5500. I have been driving cars since 2002 and am an experienced driver.

Recently, when I took the car to drop my daughter school which is 1 km away from home, started getting a bad smell from the engine side. So I took the car directly to the Hyundai service centre and they started putting the blame on my driving style. They asked me to replace the clutch which is not covered under warranty.

Hyundai should do the needful in recalling the failed components.

Looking at your problems, I smell something fishy about Hyundai cluth plates. I'm driving my Santro xing XO LE for more than two years. My clutch plate failed for the first time when I'd hit around 8600 kms. When I took it to santro garage people put the blame on my driving style. Since this was my first car I thought problem was with me. After nearly a year after, again my car started giving problems and this time too it was the clutch plate. So far I'd done 16k kms. It means the second time it failed at round 7400 kms sooner than the first time. This time I'm not convinced that my driving style is the problem. Bcoz I took the service guy with me to watch my driving. At the end of the driving he told I'm driving fine but it might have happened due to the traffic conditions which is also not too convincing. Bcoz then every other car should be in garage for this problem. I'm seeing no such problem in my colleague's car which also happened to be santro...still I'm not getting what's the real problem. I'm not using clutch has foot rest...i never had this habit...if somebody could explain what's the problem and also tips to avoid clutch failure..i will be grateful...thanks.

Santro xing — poor service

I had to get my santro serviced.On 7.1.09 I rang up hyundai service center on the service number provided on the website (SAS motors kanpur road, Lucknow) and enquired whether I can bring my vehicle for regular servicing on 8.1.09.It was confirmed to me that the service center shall remain open and that I should bring my vehicle by 0930AM on 08.01.09.I did the same and on reaching timely today was first told to wait for half an hour and then very conviniently told that the vehicle shall not be taken for service today due to lack of washing staff.Apparently 2 hours of others time and 15 km worth of petrol burnt by others for a futile effort has no meaning for Hyundai.I could have been clearly advised on 7th itself that no service shall be undertaken on 8th and I could have saved both on my time and money.

santro zing — problems after service

my car delivered on06/1/06 after running of around 29000 k.m after various reminders and follw up calls from the service stationswas taken for paid service at station at motor plaza cotton green on mar.30, 2009 .when it was nice and smooth as any normal santro car.it was delivered back after some washing service and change of break liner, engine oil and some repair work costing about rupees 5700. there after it was noticed that vehicle had sligtly more noise and had some problems while pick up after once slowed down.this fact was shared within just few days with the in charge mechanic who performed the serviceing.he then promised to attend the same through mobile reapir services, how ever it never took place.though there was some noise the vehicle was in running conditions.on april 27 i found that vehicle was stopping in between and had some jerks also.i complained again to the same person who performed the service.no body called even then.finally on april 28 at about 8.15 a.m it stopped on road .then again i complained to the same persom and also one of the sr person named mr.mohan.the vehicle was then attended by one mr.patel with the mobile service car.at around 20.45 hrs he tried to locate the fault and failed to get it upto 23.30 hrs and finally gave it up.
today morning a toeing vehicle came and took the car for repairs i had to pay rs.1000 for pick up this time.at around 15.30 i got a call from service station that he is looking into the problem
after consistant follw up agin at 18.30 got a telephone cal that they were yet to locate problem. this has added to my doubts about services given by your cotton green, mumbai motor plaza service station.
1.whether the services there are upto the expected standards?
2.am i responsible for any mistake or error done while services
3.do i have any simple actions available before going to consumer forrum/court

Hyundai - Santro Xing — Incompetent service technicians

I have purchased a Hyundai Santro from Mukesh Hyundai, Kolkata in Dec'04. Offlate I found a noise/ vibration which leads to uncomfort. I have taken my vehicle at Varoius Hyndai's service outlets (Bengal Hyundai) no of times in last 8months. They have shown their positiveness and done lot of changes/ repairs/ replacement. But they are not succesful. I have developed a feeling that whether Hyndai have competent technicians to do a first time write in.

I am now questioning my decision whether I had taken a right decision to purchase Hyndai Car.

My Next Car will be ... (other than Any HYUNDAI CAR).

santro xing/ XL — poor customer care and after sales services

I had purchased santro xing xl model in the year 2007. in the first year of purchase the veh had started causing problem. After initial running of 4000 kms i was told by samta hyundai at ambala that front discs were due for grinding. my veh has already completed 19000 kms again my veh is due for the same fault. i dont understand as to why such a reputed company fails to provide good customer care and after sales services.further samta hyundai at ambala should be closed since of being no use and services to consumers. The staff fails to understand to customer reqmts and repair the veh. the staff employed has no work experience, conduct code and custmer dealing as on date iam still unable to use the veh becauce of the lackadiasical attitude of the hyundai motors. in view of the foregoing may i request the top bosses to kindly look into the lapse.

Santro xing — no progress of claim

Dear Sir/ Madam
i have claim pending in reliance general insurance regarding my car santro xing GLS eco singe last four months.Initialy the surveyer and hyundai service centre delaer told me that the claim will be clear in 10 to 15 days.but now more than four month have passed and there is no progress in it.They are not respoding properly to my phone call and complain made in reliance company.Please help me on this.They have given me a claim no.740027.

yes, I agree. Santro has some clutch problems. I have experienced this in 3 santros owned by my knowns (one mine too).

The clutch becomes very hard to press and needs replacement of pressure plates as well as clutch wire every 6 months.

I have also owned Maruti Cars(Zen/WagonR/800) but never faced clutch problems even in 5 years each of owning them.

Hyundai, can you please see this problem.

hyundai santroxing — extremely poor service

i am a santro xing user since 2006 and getting service of car at dee hyundai,allahabad but since start they hardly serviced my car properly.i have made so many complaints but they never responded in positive manner.so my car is getting poor n poor at maintenance instead of paying huge amounts.

The same problem of clutch started after the first service of my santro GL 2008 model & the same old reason was given to me . I am driving cars right from FIAT PUDMINI 1972, MARUTI 800 1986 etc. I never had to face clutch problem in any of the cars except HYUNDAI SANTRO GL 2008 .Clutch peddle becomes very hard . My car is coverd under extended warranty .
Hyundai pls let me know, what can be done to sortout this problem? Are the clutch plates covered under warranty?

hyundai - santro car GLS — very poor service at service care

I had sent my santro car (UP 32 CL 2319) for servicing & accidental repairs to SAS HYUNDAI service care on 28.01.11. I had called the manager, Mr.Srivastava several times regarding the job works to be done in the car and was assured that he has got the check list and will see that all the jobs have been completed properly. Earlier they had committed for pick up n drop facility. But later on started saying that as it's an accidental repair the car has to be picked by us. Somehow, the car was delivered to our place on 01.02.11, but the servicing of the car was NOT done and also still having engine misfiring problem. Foot mats were changed and one of the dikki mat is missing.
I had a very bitter experience.
I agree, even my Santro Xing also having clutch problem.. Hyundai research centre should look into it.
I Agree. I am also having the same clutch issue with my Satro Xing.
I strongly agree, my Santro XL 2007, has same clutch problem after doing 7000kms, clutch pedal became too hard to press, even the gear shifting is too hard, driving in traffic results in back pain and discomfort, as mechanical power steering is not so smooth, required steering assembly change @ 42, 000kms, due to leakages in the assembly. If there is a leakage, no option to overhaul it, need to be changed, Hyundai research centre should look into all these issues.

hyundai/ santro gls — gear box problem

i purchased a santro-gls car numbered DL8CT0945 in the year january,2010.
from the date of purchase i found the problem in its gear box. i complaint for that at least 5 times but the solution is not still satisfactory.
problem is that sometimes gear comes in the neutral in the running position when i faces some patches on the road.

Hyundai — Failure of the Clutch Disc or Clutch Pad

We took the Hundai I10 from Sanjay Hundai on 7th Oct 2011.We already had normal servicing done as per the schedule.

But on 1st of Jan2012 the engine was starting but the Gears were not getting changed.We called for emrgency help and they took to nearest Service Center from Home.Now as per them the Cluch disc and got damaged and they need to change it.

Me & my husband are surprised how is it possible since we have been driving cars from couple of Years. We are not driving any NANU that engine gets spoilt.Surpisingly the failure of any such part is due to manufacturing defect.

Hundai people have refused to replace it as they say its ur fault because you should not drive very slow...Imagine the back to back traffic in Mumbai & Delhi.We said we shall not pay a single penny as just been 2 months of purchase.

Pls look into the same on priority & help us in getting it replaced in warranty.

I have been driving from past more 6 years and I started driving Santro 3 months back. I have burnt 2 clutches arleady! Being a lady I am been blamed for bad driving. The mechanics are very rude with me at the service station saying that I don't know how to drive. Is Huyndai looking into this issues? How is Huyndai making good sales by blaming all the drivers in the country???
Hi, I have recently bought Santro Xing GLS 2013 model from Modi Hyundai dealer Kanjur Marg west outlet. My brand new car's clutch plate burnt off withing 432 kms !!!
The car had heating issue since day 1 and the vehicle complaint was not taken seriously by Hyundai.
They picked up the car from my residence afetr 4 to 5 complaint rounds with 3 days of taking the car delivary and then their driver drove back the car home . Apart from this I am the only driver for my car, driving almost for 6 yeards now. HYundai staff initially completely denied about their fault and ignorance and on top of that no they are blaming that my driving has issuess!!
I really wish a company of this standard closes down who is just fooling the Indian market.
They are never ready to agree that their product has a problem and they are no way looking into the issue of replacing the vehicle.
