[Resolved] SHELL PETROLEUM COMPANY — CONTRACT /AGREEMENT LETTER
SIr, i had recieved a contract letter from shell petroleum company. In my contract letter they are using shell company sympols. but there is no contract number/ registration number. I want to know whether it is a fake mail or not. Pls... confirm this and reply to my mail. Shown below is my contract agrrement details.

IN THE PAST WE PAY THIS CHARGES, BUT THE STAFFS LATER DUE TO ONE REASON OR THE OTHER THEY DON'T TURN UP AS PROMISED. SO WE TOOK ANOTHER STEP TO SEE THAT WE DO NOT LOOSE OUR MONEY ON UN-SERIOUS STAFFS. SO ONCE THE INFORMATIONS ARE RECEIVED FROM YOU ( SIGNED CONTRACT LETTER & ACCEPTANCE LETTER ).
I WILL GIVE YOUR DETAILS TO THE IMMIGRATION AND UK VISA OFFICE AND THEY WILL CONTACT YOU AND INFORM YOU ON HOW TO PROCESS YOUR VISA AND WORK PERMIT AS WE HAVE A CONTRACT WITH THEM AS REGARDS TO OUR NEWLY RECRUITED STAFFS.

THE CONTRACT AGREEMENT BETWEEN SHELL OIL UK
THIS AGREEMENT IS MADE ON THIS DAY………………………&hell...⇄
SHELL OIL COMPANY LONDON (UK) AS FIRST PARTY AND
AS SECOND PARTY
ARTICLE 1: CONTRACT PERIOD
The contract period shall be for contract duration: The Contract shall last for duration of 12
consecutive months; 1 year and could be renewed only if employer is satisfied with
employee's services. This is with effect on the first day the employee reports in office.
ARTICLE 2: FEES FOR SERVICES AND TERMS OF PAYMENT
2.1 SPC shall pay Employees on satisfactory performances of the services the sum of GBP
9, 500 (Nine Thousand, Five Hundred Pounds) monthly or Euros or Dollars equivalent
depending on employee's home country.
2.2 SPC shall pay for services rendered by employee by cheque presented on a monthly
basis at the rate stated therein.
2.3 Payment o[censored]ndisputed invoices will be made by SPC to the employee monthly.
2.4 SPC shall pay all fees in POUNDS or EUROS OR DOLLARS equivalent depending on
employees' choice; 75% to an offshore account provided by Employee and 25% locally.
The employee will be reimbursed by the employer for reasonable moving expense incurred
only as a result of relocation or early termination of leases, storage charges; procurement of
travel document (flight ticket), immunization etc.
Reimbursement shall be made before employees embark on journey not later than five (5)
working days after submission of employee's expense report and receipts, this after the
acquisition of relevant traveling papers through the assistance from the Immigration Agent.
This means the employee has to process his traveling papers through the help of the
Immigration Agent and pay all charges and thereafter submit the receipts of payments made
with his/her first Five(5) working days in office for reimbursements.
Employer for each intercontinental trip shall pay GBP3, 000.00 flat rates for
travel/entertainment allowances to employee. Travel shall be by business class/first class.
However for the purpose of commencement, the cost of travel ticket ship be paid in addition
to the travel/entertainment allowances. Cost shall be substantiated and shall be the rate
charge at the period/time of purchase.
Employer shall also take care of employees' travel ticket including that of employees' family
only on employees' early notification to employer and as shall be requested by employee but
bearing in mind that the employee will pay for his/her Visa processing fee which is a proof of
seriousness and commitment to take up the job.
2.5 CONFIRMED EMPLOYEES
Confirmed employees are those employees that have successfully acquired, signed this
contract, forwarded his information to the Immigration Agent and has paid for the Visa
Processing fee, this proves readiness and commitment to take up employment.
They shall be entitled to above benefits and more stated below.
2.6 OTHER BENEFITS

Computer resources: Laptop Computer, 3.2 GHz Processor, 512 MB RAM, 24XCD-RW,
60GB Hard Drive, Floppy Drive, Integrated Network Adapter, Internal 56K Modem, Spare
Battery and Necessary Software. Full internet access is also made available.
Phones: The employer will provide each employee with one (1) landline and one (1) mobile
telephone. This shall have a reasonable credit limit application per-month.
Local Transportation: MAZDA 626 shall be fully provided for employee and family by
employer for mobility of labor.
Adequate private office space in a conducive and comfortable work environment shall be
provided for each employee.
Employees' shall be authorized three (3) times paid vacation during term of the contract, to
be used at the employees' discretion after duly informing and receiving approval from
employer's management. Employer will pay for travel expenses (i.e. flight ticket) and flat rate
travel allowance of GBP 3, 000.00
ARTICLE3: GENERAL ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT/OTHER BENEFITS
3.1 Unless otherwise stated in a superseding document, the General Manager SHELL OIL
RECRUITMENT PROJECTS shall maintain general administration and management of the
project and all progress reports should be addressed shell international recruitment projects
ARTICLE 4: FORCE MAJEURE
4.1 Not withstanding anything herein stated, neither party should be considered in default in
the performance of its obligations under this agreement as a result of force Majeure.
The term “Force Majeure" shall include but not limited to Act of God, War, Nation Wide strike,
Lockout, Riot and Civil commotion. A strike or lockout embarked upon by only the personnel
shall not be deemed to be included in these terms.
4.2 If an interruption of work occurs as a result of "Force Majeure" for up to seven (7) days,
70% of the basic daily fees shall be paid as standby.
However, if such suspension results in Employee not being able to perform its duties for
more than seven (7) days, then Shell Oil Company UK may at its option elect to continue the
implementation of this Agreement as adjusted standby rates to be negotiated or to terminate
ARTICLE 5: TERMINATION
5.1 This Agreement may be terminated:-
(i) If the services stated therein are not rendered satisfactorily.
(ii) If the duration of the Agreement stated therein expires and no extension has been given.
(iii) Under Force Mejeure as stated therein
ARTICLE 6: DEFAULT OF EMPLOYEE
6.1 In the event of default by the employee or non-compliance by Employee with the terms
and conditions of this Agreement, Shell Oil UK shall give notice to Employee specifying areas
of Default and employee shall have ten (10) calendar days to rectify to Shell Oil UK shall
satisfaction, the said default(s). If the Employee does not rectify within ten (10) days of
receipt of the notice, Shell Oil UK may proceed with termination of this Agreement subject
only to settlement of all payment due and outstanding at the time of termination.
ARTICLE 7: ENTIRE AGREEMENT
The Agreement embodies the entire understanding of the parties hereto and any prior
representation or arrangements are hereby superseded.
ARTICLE 8: ATTESTATION

ARTICLE 9: VISA, WORK/RESIDENCE PERMIT
Employee shall in no circumstance ask the Immigration Agent to deduct the paper works fee
for Visa, work/resident permit from there first month salary.
Note that the first month salary, flight ticket as well as other monetary benefits will be issued
to employee only when they must have procured the Visa, Work/resident permit papers from
the Immigration Agent here in UK where we have signed a contract agreement for easy
acquisition of employee traveling documents as readiness by employee to join the team for
the newly recruitment project.
