Sifybroadband — regarding negligence of sify towards my account
I am a student of NIT, Patna.
I am a customer of sify broadband since 4 months in my hostel (1-25,NEH, NIT, Patna).
My user-id is anupam_sharan
I had renewed on 10:00 pm(approx) on 8th jan, 2008 with plan Rs 520/-.
It was to expire on 6th Feb,2008 but due to some unknown reason it expired on 14th jan,2008.
As per account detail it shows use of 2000MB(approx) in two days.
But in this plan there is the provision of happy hours from 10pm to 8 am.
As per account details, 1200MB(approx) has been used in day time but it is
impossible on such a low speed of 7-8 kbps.Customer care are also supporting the above fact that it is not possible on such a low speed.
Again as per account details, it shows logout and login at same moment i.e having not a single second difference which is a miraculous act.
All these events occured around 12th & 13th jan,2008.
I had already made contact with its local service provider & customer care so many times wherever they had told, but it has not brought any +ve result.
Its customer care has IVRS system and whenever i had to get my complain no. there occured connection error but after a long struggle of one month i got the complaint number and i.e. 6453966.
They had told that the problem will be solved within 12 hrs. But 8 days have gone and there is no result.
I had sent mail to [protected]@sifycorp.com, [protected]@sifycorp.com as per their suggestion but all went invain. Only they had told that a technician will arrive at my room but no body came except a person who demanded rental for the month of jan'08.
As we are student of B. Arch, NIT,Patna we are always having need of internet and so i renewed my account again but was deactivated without any prior information.
Again i went in the office of sify which is there at 6th floor, harniwas complex, patna for thed complain but they told me to send a sms regarding my problem to 54545 which is a toll free number of chennai head office. I did the same adn got a reply that they will call me within 2 working hrs. but no call has come after so many sms. And that no. 54545 is not toll free as it cost me Rs 3/sms.
I had already made complaint to consumer forum on 31st jan but that time i had no complaint number but now more than 1 month has passed and still i am debarred from having internet.
Consequences : 1. It made me loss of Rs 200(approx) to make contact with
2. My plan has been deactivated for the second time,.
3. One day they told that one technician will come to solve the problem,
but no technician arrived rather they sent a person to take rental. For
that i had lost 2 important classes.
4.To mail to sify and consumer forum, i have spent Rs 100.
5. To send sms to 54545 i have spent Rs 15 till now.
