As per my knowledge Sodexho meal passes are ONLY meant for purchase of ready-to-eat meals and beverages. Majority o[censored]sers purchase grocery and other items which are not in 'ready-to-eat' category from big merchants like BigBazar.Spencers, More etc. which is illegal. As there is no mechanism to track the correct use of these tax free coupons, these big establishments are not really having a smooth transaction with sodexho hence this current issue. Majority of supermarkets and local stores are displaying board that they will not accept sodexho from Jan 2012 onwards.

We are using Sodexho pass for IT exception. Even we buy grocery items and that is also going to be used for food and we can't do anything with that. Wat is d logic behind this? Foolish concept...

What about all these? - Bread, Jam, Butter, Chocolate, Soft Drinks, Fruits Juice

We are paid Rs. 2000+ SodexHo meal passes for each month, and for two months those are un-utilized. This decision from these Super/Hyper market chains is making us suffer. This happened earlier, but it wasn't effective and some of these super market chains could see their sales slightly declining, they started accepting with in a month's time. I am sure the same will be repeated, but we need to wait and see, how long they will be on this.

I went for purchasing a Bread and Egg from a super market in Anna Nagar. It was mentioned in entrance that they accept Sodexo pass for purchases.
So, I finally made my purchase and gave my sodexo pass for making a payment of 50 rupees. But, the shopkeeper told that they won't accept the pass. I was shocked and enquired them that it is mentioned there. But, they said that they will accept it when we make a purchase of more than 1000 rupees.
Then, I was forced to pay the bill through cash. This happens all the time at the store. Please have a look at this issue and I am hoping that you will take steps to solve this issue.
