DISGUSTED WITH LABOR WARD SERVICES AT SOORIYA HOSPITAL Went to Soorya Hospital, Vadapalni for delivery. Doctors, mainly Dr Soorya kept talking of yoga, how only she conducts normal delivery, all others do cesarean etc. We were cheated by this like everyone else. Only her assistant Dr Mathangi is competent and patient, the others are not like that. Nursing only ok, ward boy and ayah ask money. Most importantly, though mother discharged in 2 days, baby was re-admitted by Dr Natesan, and kept for jaundice for 1 week. We found this happening with almost all mothers there, in all rooms. Mother discharged early, but all babies kept for some reason or other for many days. It was explained as if the hospitalization was very essential for the baby. Then we found that babies delivered by other gynaecologists there were also of normal delivery, but no unnecessary stay of baby for long. .Ward boys there commented some link up of Dr Soorya, Dr Mathangi, her husband Dr Natesan, due to which baby was kept so long, so many blood tests everyday, so many pokes by inefficient nurses etc. hospitals are becoming business. Here they say yoga etc for mothers, but baby is subjected to heavy treatment and cost of care Was this information helpful? | |||

Not sure of labor ward at Soorya. Our experience with Soorya Hospital ws great. Dr Sivagami Gopinath and her husband Dr Gopinath are too good, we had IVF twins afteer so many years marriage. They told honestly about success rate, no false promises
The NICU under Dr Deepa Hariharan the best in the nation, as many doctors will tell you. The babies were so tiny, less than even 1kg, saved with utmost dedication. In fact, the NICU was a surprise to us, as the rest of the hospital was only mediocre. We asked many doctors in the city, , and they said Sooriya NICU is best. We too found that so, Dr Deepa hariharan was very honest, well updated, constantly took our opinions etc. The nurses were TOO GOOD, very clean, and discipline was like army. For everything, the doctors showed us evidence in books or internet that this is the best treatment available in the world. Both our kids are fine now, THANKS TO DR GOPINATH, THANKS TO DR DEEPA HARIHARAN.
Also, we found all patients very satisfied and convinced that Dr Deepa Hariharan is working for passion and service, and is very competent. Discharges were early, cost was low, only necessary treatment and tests.
Maybe there is a different doctor for Dr Soorya's patients, as they are hospital owners, but I am very happy with Dr Gopinath and NICU under Dr Deepa.

My first baby was treated by Dr Duraiarasan at Soorya Hospital, delivered by Dr Soorya, and was sent home in 3 days though jaundice level was 17. Second baby I was forced to see Dr Natesan, due to delivery by Dr Soorya (only he sees her cases now as she is owner, and he is husband of her assistant Dr Mathangi), though we asked for Dr Duraiarasan. Though jaundice was only 12, baby was kept for 5 days in blue light. They also said low sugar, which was 45, and baby got IV fluids and no feeding for 4 days. Later I heard from my family paediatrician that jaundice level 12 needs no treatment, and sugar 45 can be treated with feeds. Dr Natesan spent so much time that we were convinced while we stayed there, but later learnt that this was a tactic to get money, and this happened to many babies.
At Sooriya Hospital, separate NICU for outborn babies run by Dr Deepa Hariharan, and separate inborn NICU for babies delivered by Dr Soorya, run by Dr Natesan. The services are different. My friend's kid was treated by Dr Deepa, she thinks of her as God. But we did not see that unit, as services there are for outborn babies sent from other hospitals

Dr Sooriyakala is a great doctor, kind at heart, loving, and tries her best for normal delivery, helped by her team. She is not greedy or impatient. The NICU is also very good, under Dr Deepa Hariharan, excellent infrastructure and outcomes, well supported by Dr Sooriya and the hospital. Thanks to Sooriya Hospital for great obstetric and great NICU service

Dr Gopinath — High Fee...!
This Doctor is a Padmashri WInner...talks well....but heavy on 'r' pockets....can u bleive guys his fee has gone up to Rs700 from Rs 500...thts still ok for an award winner...but his assistants at the counter take fees without any hesitation even i[censored] go on the consecutive day...Greedy Man!
