i have a huge complaint against standard chartered credit cards as i had done the settlement for the credit card and closed the card about a year and half but now after these many days i get calls from the customer care depaptment to pay them the amount balance which is of about 3500 rs and when i ask them to explain why should i pay then they say that i had not settled the entire amount where in i had gone to one of the credit card branch and called the customer care dept from the phone in the branch and they confirmed that i had to pay off 15 k and my credit card will be closed and i did the same but now they come back to me to pay them more and when i told the customer care rep that i will not pay the amount she started threatening me, the customer care department for the credit cards are worst, they dont speak proper english and they dont have a good language to talk to people, they harrse people, when i asked for explaination to why they dint call me for soo many days the explanation i get from the customer care rep is she was tring to get in touch wiht my mom and get my mobile number and after that they kept calling me and i dint receive any call from them, please help me i am too tenced cause of them, please give the highest contact of the standard chartered credit card dept so that i would be able to talk to them directly and sort out this issue

classic touch — late payment and cheque collection charges

i have deposit the cheque well ahead of due time and they are charging late fee,next is last statement they have charged cheque collection charges rs.100,i have deposited the cheque pl do the needful.
I was contacted by customer care officials and assured of a personal loan of Rs.1.57 lakhs later on it was made as Rs.57000 for which I wasted STD call from. Thereafter I was assured within 5 days the draft will be sent to my address but till date nothing has been received on seeking clarifications they say the approval was not accorded for reasons best known to the bank. I feel that the bank authorities must not call us and have a discussion for fun sake.

I am very shortly closing the card account

Im waiting for 20 - 25 days and receiving a communication from you saying "Unable to provide your Credit Card"..

Im not sure what does this mean.. I already possess 3 credit cards - ICICI, SBI and HDFC..

I never asked for a card with your bank.. The customer care executive by name - Karthik ([protected], [protected]) compelled me to apply for the card.

I was hesitant to apply because the previous time also the same happened with your executives... they got the documents.. I completed verifications..After that I heard nothing from them...

But this guy and his team leader, name - Aruna([protected]) assured me that there will be no problem with card processing and I ll get the card for sure this time...

Im wondering how you people are cheating customers with good bank profile like this saying false promises and false commitments..

After questioning the customer care executives and getting assurance from them that I ll get the card definitely only, I accepted to apply for the card.

Do you think Im sitting idle here to do all processing and to get a negative reply from your sides..

Im greatly disappointed with the reply I ve received..

No bank has cheated like this.. Bad treatment for customers from your bank...

Your bank ppl are so easy in saying you ll get the documents back..

Its so unfair and unjust to tell this as I ve invested my time in this besides my office work..

I can contact only the bank people for my queries but now they ask me to contact the bank directly.. Is this the right words for your people to say??

I need the card somehow ... Please do not tell any lame excuses...

I need an immediate solution to my problem so that I get my card at any cost...

ICICI Bank Credit Card — Asking More Money on Original Amount and Mental Harrisment

Dear Sir/Madam

Bank has given me 20000 Balance Transfer to me through the ICICI EMI card. In front of repayment there is a three month gap to repayment and then after I am paying regular installment of 1000 rs as per the card's conditon and till date i have paid 20000 rs and i am going to pay another 3 Installments of that but bank is showing currently my outstanding amount is 47000 rs in this condition what i have to do now? Please suggest me.

This is in reference to Credit Card Number - [protected] in the name of Mr. Mayuresh Kamble . For past 7 months I was not receiving the Bill for which the Complaint was logged in several times at the call centre number with no response, Every time I used to get a call from a person calling from Standred C using abusive and sub standard language threatening dire consequences if the payment is not paid, for this also I had lodged a complaint at Call Centre but again with no response.



The above mentioned issues were going on for some time with no resolution so finally I had spoken to Ms.Reshma at Credit Card Helpline who said that she will reverse the late payment Charges provided I paid the minimum amount due.


Although the issue was pending since long time nobody bothered to resolve the issue but were very prompt in taking out the payment from my A/c without my knowledge and authorization. This incident has left a very bad taste as per se Standred C Bank Credit Card since it violates people privacy. They should not have invaded my A/c when I was ready to pay .

I am a consumer of Standard Chartered Bank.Before some years they had provided a credit card im my name.They never asked me and added an INSURANCE POLICY in my name.They do not have any proofs, since I never signed any document for this approval. Hope your company will do some actions regarding this matter.

This is to bring to your kind attention, the mental and emotional distress me and my husband had to face, because of non updation of your accounts.

My husband's card no. : [protected] for which had closed the account on 28th July'04 with a full and final settlement of Rs. 7291/-.

Suddenly there was a franctic call from Mr. Naveen on 17th March'10 who claimed to be from your legal team (Mob. No. [protected]) asking me to pay amount of Rs. 35000/- within a hr to avoid a legal notice. Since out of station they i asked my husband to contact them. Mr. Naveen harrased my husband so much that he had to borrow Rs. 35000/- to settle the card No. [protected] by 1200 Hrs. 17 March'10. The detailed statement for the above card no. has not been furnished to us till date and the above mentioned card was never used to received by me or by my husband.

You are requested to kindly look into the matter on urgent basis and refund the above amount on an urgent basis.

Dear sir, I have standard chartered platinum card and on this card there was EMI goning on, last seven to eight months i dont use this card but then after i charged extra money about 600 to 700 rupees, and not receving statments on time on my home address.
when i call to hte customer care center at benglor the girl nemed veena not taking with me properly and talking rubise langvage though its banks responcibility the send the monthly statment on time so i pay my payment on time.
(1)in the month of jan/2010 i receive a message and pay my outstanding amount at standared chartered bank chequ dropbox at law gardern branch, in that bank found some problem and dont deposit it and send back to me after ( my payment due date) two holiday and i have to issue a new chequ against it.and charged me late payment for it.
(2) last payment maid by me on the due24/03/10 date because not having my statment.
(3) though i maid my payment i receive a message on today 29/03/10 that ur account is overdue.
(4) the bank dont tell me though i dont use my card since last eight months then why i have to pay more money.

Credit Card — Harrestment & dissatified service

Grievance No- 1 : Without knowing the appropriate reason or without calling to customer and understanding the problem or by without written communication with customer - How you are applying the lean in the A/C ? Who has given you the Authority -
Grievance No -2 : Call Centre- Commit Something/ credit manager Doing something else. there is no coordination between the internal dept and fighting each other which is seen when we visit in the bank. Always passing the bugs.
Grievance No 3 : When credit card are sold to customer (Gold or Silver ) they invite like carpet honor , but if person misses one EMI- they punish just like police hammer a criminal.
Grievance No 4 : Never the local office respond to normal customer properly / Either in Land line or Cell.

3 Times My Saving A/C was leaned - But never before I was called or intimated or no one spoke to me and understand the difficulties of the customer who are willing to pay the Due and imposing Lean & changing the Heavy Interest .

Pl call me and I have lot many grievances to convey . if I don’t get the response - may escalates to Shri Kamat Sir & Chanda D Kochhar.( Mam)- I m most dissatisfied customer

Standard Chartered Credit Card — Standard Chartered Credit Card unethical way of cheating consumers

Respected Sir/Madam,

I am Avishek Chakraborty, Holder of a salary account no - [protected] with Standard Chartered Bank, India at the Goregaon (E) Branch.

I would like to air my grievances through this mail about the unethical way this bank has taken in my case for selling me their product & cheated me the by sending me some other product which i never opted for. I would believe that my efforts have been justified if this mail in anyway has a impact on the bank's unethical way of doing so business & save psychological harassment for a large number of innocent consumers.

One week back on 15/04/10, I received a call from a standard chartered executive that i have been selected as a privileged customer to receive a Platinum elite credit card & i was told about the other privileges that this card has to offer. I liked the details as these would match my requirements & i applied for the card. I was told that i would get the card with 100% guarantee. Now after i submitted all the documents, I received verification calls & all the process went smoothly. I was never informed about anything in conflict with the executives promises. But today, on 19/04/10, i received one Gold rewards credit card
(Card No - [protected]) in stead of the promised Platinum elite credit card. On asking the help line i was told that, I should accept this card & after a period of time my card would be upgraded to a Platinum card.

These whole process created a lot of distrust in my mind against the standard chartered bank's way of doing business. They at first promise the customer about the high end products they have to offer & once the person fall in the trap they do not fulfill the promises & sends some other product.

This experience of mine has proved to be so bitter for me that i really intend to sever all my ties with this bank in the future & will probably transfer my resources to some other bank & never ever use any the service that standard chartered is offering.

I intend to lodge a consumer complaint in the consumer court,Government of India in my capacity as a troubled/cheated consumer, If my case is not immediately handled with utmost respect.

I hope that my experience will help few other consumers & they can save their time & mental harassment that i went through during this ordeal.

You don't have to worry, My dad has same problem as like you. But I setteled down all payments even they are asking to pay Rs.360 and also some check collection fee.

I suggest to complain to Banking Ombudsman which is running by RBI of India. Where they can take care or fight for your case to the concern bank.

Credit Card — Credit Card : How to use efficiently and avoid harassment

Nowdays most o[censored]s use credit card for shopping, bill payment and online transactions however due to small mistakes, careless approach and overlooking the facts we endup facing unnecessary troubles. Here are few tips if we use them we can actually use credit card for our benefits rather then a trouble maker.
1. First time when you sign for a new credit card always read full form and fill up all the necessary details yourself rather then leaving it to a sales agent. Ask for the joining fees, annual fees, credit period and all the offers in writing. Either they must be mentioned in the form itself or separately so as to avoid any surprise later on. Try to cross confirm all the facts by banks helpline number.
2. When you receive the card, read all the instructions properly and clarify it with the bank.
3. Always remember nothing comes free in this world, so if you are using credit card banks get commission form the vendor. And if you are not paying the dues on time they will charge you 35-40% (P.a.) interest rate. So try to clear all the dues on or before due date. Remember if you pay a part amount bank still charges interest from the date of your purchase of goods till the payment date.
4. Keep all the transactions slips with you till you get the bill so as to produce it in case of any dispute.
5. Never give your card details and CVV number to any one better if you erase the CVV number from the card after remembering it so as to avoid misuse.
6. Remember not receiving a bill is not an excuse of not paying dues on time. So if you don’t receive it on time call bank’s helpline number for duplicate bill or get it in your email.
7. Always pay bill by Account payee cross cheque mentioning your card number so that it goes at current account. Never pay to any one by cash including bank employees or recovery agent.
8. Whenever you have any issues call the banks helpline number explain everything and take a complain/feedback number also note down the customer executive’s name and date when u made this complain and ask how many days it will take to resolve the problem. Check the status of your complain after that time through helpline number again and if it is not resolved escalate the problem to the Appellate Authority but remember without complain/feedback number your will not be able to trace and resolve it. Also remember that just by telling the complain to the bank your duty does not ends so you have to followup form your side till it is resolved or bank will keep on sending wrong charges.
9. Remember to pay the undisputed amount on time so that bank will not charge interest on that part.
10. If you are not satisfied with the bank’s resolution or bank is not solving your problem contact the RBI through Banking Ombudsman but again remember to mention your complain number and date or else it won’t get resolved.
11. If recovery agents are harassing you file a FIR with the local police station. RBI has issued certain guidelines for recovery agents (which can be read at RBI’s website). A recovery agent can not call at odd times or threaten you or use abusive language if he does so you can make a complain with the police. Bank’s are totally responsible for any wrongdoings from recovery agent.
12. And last but not the least use your credit card as if you have to pay in cash never overspend and pay dues ontime and keep a record of your transactions so as to cross check them.
