[Resolved]  Tamilnadu Electricity Board — Responsibility, carelessness, No civic sense and expecting bribery

Dear Sir/Madam,
Sub: - Bad and irresponsible service given to customer.
I have been living in the above address for the past 1 year and found that not once the electricity department was responsible enough to solve or notice the issue that our apartment was facing.
There are four meters for each apartment and a common meter for the water pumping motor. As soon as I started living in the apartment I noticed that our meter and the common water pump meter was not working and raised a complaint to change them to new one. I waited for more than 3 months ad still didn’t get any proper response from the EB department. They were passing time by either stating that my complaint is still in process or the meter will be changed next week. But then that week never came. Giving the EB department another chance I wrote another complaint to change the meter and after 2 months they changed the meter and it was only for my individual house and not for the common water pump meter. When I asked about it the EB department started to beat around the bushes by not giving proper reply and instead they were passing it to other person. Added to that the person who comes to take the reading doesn’t care to guide us what to do to resolve this issue instead he says us to pay minimum of Rs.600/= for the common water pump motor. I’m sure that it doesn’t cost that much since only three o[censored]s live in the apartment and we turn ON the motor only twice a day for 1 hour.
Later they changed the meter for the common water pump. But that meter was also not working and when we tried to explain it to the department and the person who notes the meter reading he says to raise another complaint to change the meter and asks to pay Rs.600/= again.
This is the mistake repeatedly done from the EB department and they are supposed to rectify it, but I’m paying the cost for their mistakes. I’m really unhappy with the irresponsible act of the people working in the department and not even bothering at least to guide the public if they are in need of any guidance.
I’m writing this complaint not only it happened to me but also to most of the neighbors in my locality and I’m not afraid to say that the neighbors doesn’t complain this issue because the EB department in out locality doesn’t work efficiently or promptly if any complaints are raised against them.
Please consider this as not only my complaint but also a humble request to look into this issue that’s happening in our locality.

I have been staying here from Novermber 2008 and my house CURRENT METER alone has not been functioning since starting. So many complaints have been raised in person. No actions have been taken yet. Why TNEB so irresponsible? Moreover treatment is also bad when we go to TNEB for raising any complaint. Please take care of this and resolve the issues quickly.

eb sucks we should join together to raise issue in eb and force government to take action, or else this tendency will never change will become far worst or other thing eb should be privaticed, but if privatices the cost of the unit may go high, every area, area people should joing together and should raiese the issue otherwise nothing will happen, but difficult the thing only few would be intrested in joing together to raise issues rest will say stupid excuses we are citize we have our rights and if are not given our rights we should fight for it, lets raise our vocie against electricity problems
TODAY’S IS 15 TH NOVEMBER 2009, SINCE 8TH NOVEMBER EXACTLY A WEEK THE ELECTRICITY WAS NOT THERE IN A STEERT CALLED RAJIV GANDHI AVENEUE, WHICH IS IN KOTTUR CHENNAI.. WE WENT AS A ENTIRE STREET TO EB OFFICE IN KOTTUR. THEY ARE SAYING THERE IS A SHORTAGE OF MANPOWER. SO YOU GUYS WILL DIG, THEN WE WOULD ABLE TO DO THE NEEDFUL. MY QUESTION IS WHEN EB PEOPLE WANTS TO DIGGING DONE BY PUBLIC MEANS ITS TOTALLY NOT ACCEPTABLE.. ALL THE PEOPLE IS IN STREET WE WENT TO GIVE COMPLAINT EVEN THOUGH NO ACTION.

NO WORRIES WHEN PEOPLE IS SUFFERING, TILL NOW THERE IS NO POWER SUPPLY AND NO ACTION TAKEN TILL NOW... WORST PUBLIC SERVICE...

This is Robert residing at No 10 Narmada street extn, irumbuliyur, chennai-59.

i have faced a ridiculus problem from TNEB Tambaram Near Madras Christian College

sir for month of october i paid Rs 1724 Rs i was satisfied because i have used AC.

For 40 Days.

i have sent my brother who is uneducated and the TNEB Collected Same Amount

Rs 1724/- but i have given only rs 1100 and rest of money he manged from his own funds because we have not used AC not even

a single day.

They simply collected amount from my Brother Same Amount and informed him if

you are not using A/C you have to inform us earlier.

What a ridiculuos approach whether this is needed that i have to inform everything

what iam using ??? then why they have meter reading ??? its all depends on

consumption.

They not even furnished the meter reading in EB Card just a single Line .Plz kindly take some actions.

i have all the evidences and iam not going hand over card to them.

we are living in kodambakkam area.we are trying to apply for 3phase connection from single phase.All persons are money minded.

when we accepted to pay bribary they responded good.but when we refuse to pay bribary, their response was very bad.very ridiculous service.

Careless responses.my mother went around 3times.Each time they are telling colorful reasons.

when we accepted to pay bribary 5000rs they do'nt want any supportive or extra documents itseems.but when we said we can pay 3500rs .they nodded head for bribary.when we refused to pay bribary.they are not even getting our bills in hand.very very bad..when we will get this done ..god only knows.We are suffering very badly with single phase connection.getting often powercuts.
Dear.Sir i bring this complaint to you taking necessary action against Mr.Sekhar for his misbehaviour and corruption. working in Sembium Perambur Chennai 600011 On 4th afternoon 2pm power supply went off gave complaint at 5pm evening tneb van came inspected and said its cable fault saying next day morning can be done.Next Day morning about 6staffs led by Mr.Sekhar well known for corruption, arrogancy working in the same place for more than 15yrs without finding the fault said nothing can be done thers no staff available to dig the road buy 50meters cable and our labour charges and left.For your kind information last year the same sekhar said the same thing made me to buy the new cable estimated R5000/- which is lying in the ground Tll now the fault not rectifyed and i am sufering without power causing mental agony and frustration Neccessary action against Mr.sekhar and to restore the power.Dr.T.Subramaniam, 14, G.N.st.Agaram Chennai 600 082
Yes I agree. Civil Supplies department is doing great job for consumer complaints. Likewise TNEB should also make such online arrangements to make sure they receive all consumer complaints in a proper way and getting escalated to higher official if the complaints are not resolved.

We are living in Naickkan palyam Village, pollachi(T.K). In this village also called as Karuppam palayam. My home opposite have one street light . In that street light is standing around for 200 homes. It is very old and damaged. It will fall for any second to the ground .If its fall, It will definitely make any damages and most of the peoples are die . The people are compliant to the village president Illavathi Madam. But, she is not take the any action to the street lamp . Please sir, Take the action and save our life

I have been staying here fot the past 8 years.The metter installed for my first floor is not working for the past 3 months. So many complaints have been raised in person and also a written complaint also launched. No actions have been taken yet. Why TNEB so irresponsible?The person coming for taking reading is creating problem every time.Kindly take necessary action for replacing the meter at the earliest.
I'm staying in virudhunagar. In my town, most of the time electricity is not available (Daily morning time 8 hrs). In my area, so many students are preparing for government exam. They are all suffering due to this electricity. Kindly take necessary action and help them to successfully complete their exam

In street and then u eb people Wht doing there in office. Three days before I will give compliant in EB office no body can take action they people no respsonce. So arrange the street light soon. At. Government tel daily one hour only current will be but here only perday six to seven hrs. Stop current today power cut time 2.30 to seven6.30 and then now 9 to at present no power how to sleep child and people so solve the problem soon

For the past 25 days low voltage and current flexivation, after repeated complaint in local EB office, no response. Not able to use Ac etc...
