[Resolved]  Tata DoCoMo 3G — Pathetic internet speed on 3G

I have been using DOCOMO services now for over an year. Everything was fine until their launch of 3G service. They launched free trial of 3G services for 7 days and things really did seem to be what they had promised with respect to Internet speeds. I was getting a fairly good speed of 1.3-1.7 mbps in the free trial period. Once the free trial period got over, all the hype surrounding 3G deflated. Their speeds dropped back to 2G (100 kbps to 120 kbps). I called customer care service several times a day for 10 days. Every time, they told me its problem with my handset or it is due to congestion. Note: Speeds remained the same throughout the day and night, no change. I even spoke to their supervisors telling them about my plight with Internet speed being very slow, as I work from home and Internet is my back bone without which I would be out of work. They promised it would be resolved within 24 hours (their standard dialogue), but nothing seemed to happen. I even disconnected my previous net connection during the trial period coz it was good enough then but now I regret doing so. I really do not understand what the problems is, coz nobody is telling the exact reason for Internet speed going down to such pathetic low levels. I am not asking for 21 mbps as their sms advertisement claims. All I need is a modest 1 mbps speed.

Any help with regards to this is greatly appreciated.

I agree with you. i am also face this problem.
docomo is just fake they provide nothing i got now 3kbps with their plan of rate 1000/-. totally useless docomo 3g.

i am a customer of docomo service provider and i used too get very low speed in 2G as well as 3G i made so much complaint too customer but not got solve my prob

i used too gey 3.9kbps in 3g its very shame on docomo that not geving proper service to customer

After buying a 3G enabled handset (Apple IPHONE4) few months back, I took a Tata Docomo post-paid connection in a anticipation that 3g services will be launched on Diwali but it happened on 10th of march in Raipur. I took everything to use it like activation, plan selection etc but to my surprise, I am unable to get speeds beyond 128kbps. Just to be sure, I checked the speed (using the Speed Test app. ) in various locations around the city at different times, but the download speed never going above 128kbps.
I called CC and technical support almost 60 times, register the complaint talked to varisht adhikaries like, Ali, Fakhruddin, Suresh, Farid, Zahir, Meghna, aarif, Munmun etc and etc but nothing has happened as yet. Just to highlight my compliants were closed twice without giving any proper resolution. They have closed it by updating fake informations. This is the kind of customer service two big names like Tata and NTT Docomo is rendering to the customers. Frauds...

Tata Docomo — Net speed problem

hello respected sir in my area (mahuva road) net speed is very very slow,
when i try to connect internet its get connected but very slow bite rate recieved so site is opening after 15 minutes or more times it takes.
so please do something here i get 3g network but not even edge or 2g speed comes.
TATA DOCOMO IS LOOTING THE CUSTOMER MONEY WITH FAKE ADS, WHAT EVER HAS SAID IS ABOVE TRUE, WE DON'T GET THE SPEED I HAVE TRIED MAX 7 KBPS NOT EVEN SINGLE PAGE IS GETTING LOADED. (WHEN THE INTERNET PENETRATION STARTED WAY BACK IN 2O YEARS I WAS GETTING REASONABLE 9.6 KBPS )
WHEN THEY DON'T HAVE PROPER INFRASTRUCTURE SETUP THEY SHOULD NOT SELL THE DEVICE AND TAKE THE CUSTOMER FOR TASK. THE CUSTOMER CARE DEPARTMENT IS EQUIPPED WITH SET OF I---T, THEY JUST PUT YOU ON HOLD FOR HOURS AND DISCONNECT THE CALL, WHEN YOU CALL UP AGAIN WE END UP IN TAKING TO ANOTHER PERSON THE STORY CONTINUES INTO LOOP.
SO DEAR VISITORS TO THE SITE NOT EVEN THINK OF BUYING THE DOCOMO DEVICE & IF POSSIBLE TELL YOUR FRIENDS NOT TO GO FOR THIS JUNK DEVICE & SUFFER.
WITHIN BANGALORE ITSELF THIS IS SERVICE IMAGINE ON THE REMOTE PLACE. LAST WK WHEN I WENT TO DELHI DOCOMO IS SHARING THE NETWORK WITH AIRCEL/VODOFONE

I also have a 7.2 mbps connection. Those people showed me 6 mbps SPEED in the DEMO in my area...

The actual product when purchased doesn't even deliver 1 mbps properly...!!!

I want 1500 back from the 2000 I spent. I want a refund on my E-stick...

An the pathetic on the callback told me that it is upto 7.2 mbps... so that means it can be any speed between 0 to 7.2...
Can you believe these bas****s?

In exchange of 1400/ month, all I get is occassional 3 mbps, and rest of the time, same mobile gprs speeds!?!?!?

I am using 3G docomo E stick from 1 month and before that I was using 3G from mobile for my Internet needs. Its wonderful. I have always got speed from 2Mbps to 3.5Mbps.

Now I own a estick 7.2Mbps from 1 month.

Very good download speed and fast response. Only the issue is the device is taking 5 to 10 minutes to catch the signal and get started.

Most pathetic and useless customer care service in the World I would say... The CSR have no proper telephone aticates and there is no CSR who can converse with you in English.. even english options direct you to Hindi or other languages. You will always get reply from the CSR 9 time out of 10 times that their system is not working pls call after 1 hour. But after 1 hour you will hear them say the same thing. Can some one tell TATA that their name is not a big name any more in Telecom... the worse N/W and pathetic service is only what they can offer to their customer.
same happened to me also.

This message I am posting so that post paid users will get alerted when they select the 3G add-on packs thinking it is worth for money and finally paying the entire month salary for the 3G data usage.

I am a Tata Docomo mobile network user. April month I activated 3G add-on pack worth Rs.200 with free data usage 512 MB. I wonderd how I will be knowing the data usage. That time the customer care person told me I can check my daily data usage through my accounts in tata docomo website. I started using 3G and also checked day to day usage in My accounts. Eventhough my data usage is less than the 512 MB free usage, the bill was generated based on one paise per kb basis. So I got scared and before reaching the maximum usage 512 MB, , I gave a request in person to stop the 3G services for my number to Tata docomo office at Koramangala, Bangalore. After that my 3G connection was stopped. But when I received my april month bill, I found that ( in addition to my mobile bill) instead of Rs.200 for the 3G add on pack, it was showing Rs.1871 chargable for my data usage. This Rs.1871 is based on one paise per kb for around 183 MB. Imagine if I used the 512 MB my bill will be Rs.5120.

When I am looking for clarification from customer care, They told the Rs.200 3G add on pack is valid for one month and since I disconnected 3G service before one month, they converted the data usage based on per kb basis. With whose consent they changed and charged me like this. I gave disconnecting request in person to tata docomo office. If they told me about this hidden rule, i wouldnot have disconnected my 3G service. In their website also these hidden rules are not specified (I have the screenshots of your website). It seems that the customer care people don’t know the guidelines and also the Tata docomo bill generation software lacks some basic calculation. I paid my mobile bill plus Rs.200 for 3G add on pack and sent a complaint to Tata docomo. My complaint reference id regarding this issue is xxxxxxxxxxx. The person who contacted me unable to clarify my genuine concerns and finally sent one sms to me saying my issue sucessfully resolved. Again I sent a email to their official id. I got a reply they checked my account and what they charged is correct only for my data usage. So finally that RS.200 add-on pack is a sad joke.

So dear consumers, whatever network you are using if you are under post paid subscription, don’t activate 3G. Remember If I used prepaid the network operator will not get the chance to charge me a huge bill.
The unfortunate Customer.
I bought the Tada Docomo 3G data card more than 1 month ego it is still not activated. They have also disabled my SIM so i had to buy new SIM. But even new SIM is not activated and also they are saying you will not get 500 rupess discount on your bill which was there earlier.
Its being 1 month and 6 days i bought the 3G new data card and i have just used it for 2 Hours. Its customer care service is also pathetic.
I never recommend anyone to but Tata Docomo at any cost.
its a very very bad service.. company is lying in every aspect of its speed in 3g...there is a lot of variation n speed comes down from 3 mbps to 0.1 evry single sec.. no point of going for heavy plans..n they have a bunch of noob customer care personnels who olways find evrythng to b normal...this docomo 3g is a ..just hate it... I my life I got very big mistake to purchase Tata docomo I am from pune and I have purchase Tata Docomo 3G USB stick on friday 4-6-2011 but still my connection is not activated and I call to dealer but he is not going to pickup my call...

look, u think ur docomo is pathetic, i have idea 3g and it stinks, i only get about 50kbps! how's that huh?
when i first bought it they told me that i will get about 250kbps(before 3g) so i bought it and i first time i got about 200 but after that all i have is about 25-35 kbps!! im seriosly thinking of changing to anything else!

Tata DoCoMo 3G — Very Poor Customer service

I have bought a Tata DOCOMO 3G connection and it has been a nightmare ever since. Within a few days of buying their product which they are all out trying to sell the equipment doesnot work. It took over one week for them to figure out the problem then the instrument had to be replaced which took another 4 days. The technicians who come to install and look at the problems are glorified courier boys who can just about read. They still billed me for the 10 days of not being able to use the equipment. I did not complain as I thought it was not worth talking to a nincompoop call center personnel. The new equipment also has problems as it just goes off when left idle for over 10mins and needs to be rebooted.

That was not all suddenly the internet service just did not work. On calling their customer care center (I think they should rename that as custome hate center)- they said the problem would be solved in 24hrs. 36 hours later the internet is still not working. Once again I call the call center and after spending 20mins with her she tells me it will take another 24 hours to fix the problem. I was furious and asked to speak to the supervisor Rakesh who managed to put me on hold for more time than I could talk to him. I think he is definitely trying to cheat people as he asked me to give my credit card number over the phone. I do not know if Tata DOCOMO is aware that they employ people who are trying to cheat their customers. I asked him to transfer the call to his supervisor but vwas told that their supervisor was unavailble. The result my internet is still not working. I wish Tata would spend less money on advertisement and more money on trying to build a better support system.
I was thinking of getting 3G but after reading the above, I have decided not to. Thanks for the info.

Docomo — 3g connection too slow

i am using docomo 3g internet services since 3 months earlier i used to get downldng spd of about 200 kbps with idm but this month i got shocked when saw a spd of about 10-15 kbps....this is really disgusting ....this month pack was really a wastage of money........pls help
