[Resolved]  Tata Docomo — Legal Threat

Hi Team,

This is regarding a legal notce by Tata Tele service dated 16th Dec 2009 and 6th Jan 2010. Though I have asked (Customer care) to cancil my post paid connection ([protected]) they kept the line open and now asking me to pay the bill which I have never used.

I got the legal notce along with multiple calls from tatadocomo to pay the amount. And I always asked them that the connection should have been canciled and amount 199 (first monts bill) can be deducted from the advance money 300/= I paid when I took the connection. They agreed every time; however they have sent me the legal notice.

Now, I have received a letter from District Legal Services Authority Bangalore to present on 18th Jan 2010 to Civil court.

Please advice me what to do now?

Dear Prabhat,

Same happened to me recently, but on their USB moden internet service. When visited their office, they said the girl (employee) who took my disconnection written request doesn't work there anymore and also my request letter cannot be found.

I got notice to pay the bill for Rs.2150 for non usuage connection from the District Legal Services Authority Kochi. Anyway I send them a reply via post referring the case no. to verify and confirm the complaint against me.

Also they have to pay me my security deposit amount coming to Rs.1500 back for a disconnected broadband service... from April 2009.

You don't need to go and represent before them... would be a waste of your valuable time. This is a long process and source of income for their advocates... send them your reply for the notice through a registered post and a copy to the advocate who send it. Wait for the reply.

In all the cities in India, they do have pathetic customer service people, very irresponsible staff who always makes mistakes and we (customers) have to pay for that. Not sure when the senior staff of TATA will even care to look into these issues.

They won't hang you for not paying the amount ;) This TATA's and others makes a huge lot money cheating people and through the weak laws in our country... sadly most of the time law favors the corporates.

If again they reply you to appear in court... just file a case against them in the consumer court. I'll keep you updated... as that's my plan in such a situation. Also use the "Right to Information Act"... and ask them to show the usuage data for the period they billed for the account.

Hey guys, I got a similar notice today from Tata. Can you guys update what all did you do to resolve this?

Threat calls from Lawyer Devendra Sharma

My dongle No [protected] with a fixed bill plan was billed for 11000+ rupees in the month of April-May 2012. Despite excessive and wrong billing, on insistence of Tata Docomo Bangalore to close the case, I paid Rs 3000 as a compromise amount. However my wife is getting threatening calls from following Nos [protected], [protected], [protected] of a Lawyer called Devendra Sharma. I demand refund of Rs 3000 from your company and also i am lodging a complaint with Bangalore Police and consumer court for threatening calls and mentally harassing and disturbing whole family against Tata Docomo and Advocate Devendra Sharma.
