[Resolved]  Tata Sky — DROPPING OF CHANNELS

YESTERDAY TATA SKY HAD DROPPED TWO MALAYALAM CHANNELS AMRITA & INDIA VISION WITHOUT ANY NOTICE. ON TAKING UP WITH THEIR HELPLINE, THEY INFORMED THAT DUE TO LOW VIEWER PATRONAGE BASED ON SUCH SURVEY DONE BY THEM THESE CHANNELS WERE DROPPED.

WHEN I WROTE TO THEM THAT I HAD CHOSEN THEIR DISH BECAUSE THESE CHANNELS WERE OFFERED & THEY CANNOT REMOVE CHANNELS MIDWAY THEY SENT ME A CURT REPLY SAYING THEY HAD ADVERTISED IN THE PAPERS & THAT THEY HAD REMOVED THESE CHANNELS BECAUSE OF LESS BANDWITH ETC & ARE WELL WITHIN THE LAW OF THE LAND TO DO SO.

THIS IS DOWN RIGHT CHEATING.

A REPUTED COMPANY LIKE THE TATAs SHOULD HAVE FORSEEN ALL THESE PROBLEMS ABOUT BANDWITH LENGHT BEFORE VENTURING OUT INTO THIS BUSINESS. HOW COME ALL OF A SUDDEN THE BANDWITH IS REDUCED ?

EARLIER MAY CHANNELS OF ZEE NETWORK WERE DROPPED.

THE NEW CHANNELS BEING OFFERED BY TATA SKY IN LIEU OF THESE ARE NO GOOD.

THEY ARE OFFERED FREE FOR A MONTH & THEN EXTRA MONEY IS CHARGED FOR THESE CHANNELS.

FREE CHANNELS ARE BEING CHARGED.

SHOULD NOT ALL FREE CHANNELS BE GIVEN FREE COMPULSARILY AND ONLY PAY CHANNELS PRICED ?

WHY MUST THERE BE BOUQUET SYSTEM ? WHY CAN'T THE CUSTOMER CHOOSE THE CHANNELS HE WANTS TO VIEW & PAY FOR ONLY THOSE HE IS VIEWING ?

I WENT BY THE TATA NAME WHICH I THOUGHT WOULD GIVE ME A DECENT & HONEST SERVICE.

WILL WE EVER HAVE A CONSUMER FRIENDLY ORGANISATION ?

Hi Murali,

I too raised this complaint with Tata Sky and the response from them was the same. It is really annoying to see this kind of attitude from them being a part of reputed group. I sent a seperate mail to [protected]@tatasky.com on the same issue. Request you to do the same so that they may add these channels again due to pressue from viewers.

Even i got the same response.
Even i will also write to their mail id.
Tata sky is the worst DTH provider In india. i am from kerala.
i took tatasky i month before.I made a mistake because i did n't study other DTH Service. if i need Sony setmax + malayalam
channels i spend 350 Rupees per month. but they provide
only these channels -- Asianet, Asianet news, DD Malayalam,
Surya, kirane .Dish Tv provides around 10 malayalm channels
and sun DTH provides around 14 malayalam channels .These chanels available there statrter kit including Sony set max.
ehen i complaint they said, they said they have other regional channels like Oriya, Bangali, Marathi ...i can't understand these
languages..My dear friends Don't take Tata Sky.Yeasterday they
dropped some malayalam channels without notice.This is cheating.i[censored] wnat puchase any DTH Just Compare this
1) How many Regional Channels(6)
2)What is cost of Starter Pack(200)
sun DTH have 75 per month, dish tv have same around 100.
i Agree with u murali.Tata Sky has become so ruthless to south indian subscribers, thats what i feel.We need to raise voice against this policy of Tata sky, that shows aversion to South Indians.We should put an ENd to it.
Tata Sky is going down these days and its pathetic that the name "TATA" is being degraded to so low.

I have taken the connection under the offer of 7 months free as a new year offer..

Now the sports packages are being charged with 40 & 30 for STAR & TEN respectively. All these days these channels were inclusive of the free package which costs 350 pm.

Please do not go for TATA SKY Anymore..
Seems that HATHWAY is much much better.. Just buy a settopbox and pay monthly subscirption charges. You will get the same quality of TATA SKY.
Now they are not hearing or replying for the complaints.
No one taking the phone calls and mails.
Cheap business . They are also in reliance way.

4.2 Broadcaster/multi system operator shall inform the consumers
about the dispute to enable them to protect their interests.
Accordingly, the notice to discontinue signal shall also be given in two
local newspapers in case the distributor of TV channels is operating in local area and in two national papers in case the distributor of TV channels is providing services in a wide area. Alternatively consumers can be informed through scroll on the concerned channel(s). Where a Broadcaster or a Multi System Operator decides to give this notice through a scroll the Multi System Operator or the Cable Operator, as the case may be, must carry the scroll in the concerned channel(s).

CAN WE TAKE IT TO COURT
Airtel DTH provides all the malayalam channels and tata sky providing only limited numbers is not right. We have to be given a chance to cancel the tata sky.
i am starting my tatasky to watch it's showing every thing accept picture.And when i looking the system information its showing error text "fore ground download error information l 2 t 4 n 0 c 0

Tata Sky — no technician visit.

I am customer. I have complained to customer care about no signal before a month ago.they told recently a technician visit to your home.but till today no technician visit my home.

We recently took a new connection and but then we cancelled it .they told us they will give refund but they did not give.please look into matter.

Wrong Charges debitedand channelsnow viewed as per package charged

I cannot view Discovery ID, EPIC, News Channel No. 471 & 472 etc. Due to their programme changes they have disturbed the service and have charged me for the service man visit without doing anything. 6 timescomplained but not heard.
