[Resolved]  Tata Sky HD — Inconsistent in Plan and Price

After living abroad for about 10 years, I have settled down in India recently. One of the first thing I did is to get Tata Sky connection. One of the deciding factor was HD Gold Pack, which offered about 9 to 10 HD channels. Further based on feedback from my friend I took the decision, without proper investigation by myself. I took one Tata Sky HD+ and one additional Tata Sky HD box. Since we are from south, I took South Sport pack and HD Gold Pack, where I receive my important channels in HD like Star Cricket HD, ESPN HD, Star Movies HD and few other good HD channels which were not in my basic pack.

Within this 5 Months Tata Sky had made many changes. Recently, Tata Sky increased the rate of Multitv HD box from Rs.160 to Rs.200. Further, the HD Gold Pack, which they offered for Rs.75 had been increased to Rs.100. Further to this, Tata Sky have removed the HD Gold Pack and announced as "HD Accessing Fee", with which you need to have SD channel to view its HD channel. Means, I need to have Star Cricket in SD package to view Star Cricket HD. Even though I pay this HD access fee, I cannot watch Star Cricket HD or ESPN HD, if I don't pay for Sports pack additionally... Currently I need to pay Rs.100 for HD access + Rs.200 for MultiTV which will make me to watch only 5 HD channels (reduced from 10 Channels).

When I contact the customer service, they propose me to change my plan to higher level or I need to add the add-on pack. This means, I need to add sports pack, movie pack, English entertainment pack… if I need to watch all the HD channels which were coming in HD Gold Pack. This is not acceptable. How come the plans can be completely removed ?

Since only two HD channels were useful to me for which I need to pay Rs.140/- (100 for access fee and 40 extra for multitv), I have decided to cancel the HD services. But TataSky say that MultiTV connection cost cannot be reduced from Rs.200 to Rs.160. Basically it is for the type of box and not for the package. This is again not acceptable. If I am watching HD channels, then it makes sense to pay extra. If I am not watching the HD channels, then I don’t need to pay the price of HD MultiTv as well.

When I asked for cancelling my TataSky, they generously say that I don’t need to pay anything extra, where as I am expecting Tatasky to take back my set top box and refund. Basically, if I don’t use Tata Sky service, having this set top box is of no use. This cannot be used for any other purpose. I cannot use this set top box to use services from other service providers. Since this is locked for use with TataSky only it makes sense for TaktSky to take back and refund the money (after deducting reasonable usage fee).

In conclusion, in the last 5 months of experience with Tata Sky, I am not happy with the pricing policy and Plan policy of Tata Sky. I see complete inconsistency in their pricing and plan. In spite of Tata Sky is offering less number channels in both HD and SD when compared to other rivals, they change the plan and pricing. I have no belief in Tata Sky to keep up with their price and plan when they increase the number of channels they offer. Hence I request you to cancel my connection and take back the two Set top box with a reasonable refund.

Tata Sky — Increasing prices of subscription

TATA SKY is cheating people first they sell a package by showing a number of channels included in that package and after some time when a number of people subscribe that package they remove channels from that package and form a new monthly package. That is cheating.

Latest examples of this cheating is their Life Style Gold package and Sports Gold package, then they have another sports package and education gold package -- all created by removing channels from SUPER SAVER PACK but the strage this is still the price of super saver pack is same and we are paying much more than commited.
this is completely true & very UNLIKE the BRAND TATA. Eeven the same has happened with me.

Tata Sky — No refund - Wrong charges

Tata Sky levies wrong charges and does not revert inspite of asking for a clarification multiple times. They are real Cheats.
I wrote multiple mails to them with no avail:

Hi,
I am still waiting for information from you on this. The charges for faulty boxes and service charges for that still show on my account.
Someone from Tata Sky called and said that she will get back to me with clarifications but nothing happened. In the meantime my box had stopped functioning again yesterday and was repaired again by your engineer.

This is rediculous. Why am I being charged for your faulty boxes. Please credit the amount back to my account immediately.

Subject: Fradulant bills of Tata Sky

Hi,
I am extereamly dis-satisfied with tata sky.
1. I was given a box which stopped working in a couple of months
2. That was replaced by a faulty box.(too slow)
3. The box was replaced with a 3rd which stopped working the same day
4. A 4th box was installed
Now I am being charged for the faulty boxes and service charges(2 times within the same day) and I fail to understand why I should be penalized for problems at tata sky's end. In none of the cases the engineers mentioned that I will be charged for these.
This is ridiculous. I never expected this from a brand like tata sky.

Please let me know how to get this resolved.
