[Resolved]  The Loot — “The Loot ” Martha Hally, Bangalore selling defective products

This is about the apparel store “The Loot” at Marthahally, Bangalore. I must say they have chosen an apt name for their store, as they intent to do just that, ie, loot the customer. Here is my account of a not so pleasant shopping experience there.

03/FEB/2008
I bought two pairs of Lee Jeans from this shop on Feb 3rd. Both had waist size printed as 34, but one of them was a defective piece. Its actual waist was 32. I realized this only after reaching home.

05/FEB/2008
I went back to the store and reported the issue. They said I could pick another jeans in exchange. I checked out their collection but couldn’t find any other pair of size 34. They only had blue jeans in size 34. I had already picked one in blue. So the sails supervisor (Sadakat) told me he would get fresh stocks in a week and I could pick up after a week. He took down the jeans size, cut, color etc for tracking and assured me that he will call me up within a week. He also gave me a letter authorizing me to perform an exchange any time I want.

A week passed by…I didn’t get any call from Sadakat … I called him up. He said the stocks hadn’t arrived and asked me to wait for another 10 days. He repeated that he will let me know when the stocks come. I waited for 2 more weeks. Same story again. He didn’t even bother to call me. I had to call him up and check. He said he hadn’t got the stock for 34 size. I told him I wanted my money back. He said he cannot refund the money and can only replace the merchandise. I told him that I had been waiting for almost a month to get a replacement and that’s why I asked for reimbursement. I said I would have to look for other options like moving to consumer court or something like that. At that point he asked me to visit the store and settle the matter.

I went to the store to get my money back after almost a month. Sadakat started repeating the same story, ie, I can pick any stuff in exchange and he cannot return the money. I asked him to hand me a pair of 34 size LEE jeans which is not blue. He couldn’t do that and kept on repeating the same statement over and over again that I need to adjust and accept a replacement. I said I have waited for a month to get a replacement and since they are not able to get me the stuff I want, I want my money back. After some more time of pointless argument, this guy went and brought another person whom he introduced as the store manager Rafeeq. Rafeeq had some more stupid things to say like “you have to adjust… pick up a blue jeans… our policy is that we don’t refund money” and some such crap.

Come on. How many pairs of blue jeans will I pick from the same store? How can a store have a policy of their own, violating the law of the land? How much more arrogant can a store manager get when he says “you do whatever you want, I will not refund your money”. That too when I have already waited for a month to get a replacement for a defective piece he sold me.

The Loot is one of those shops here in India which is not the least bothered about customer satisfaction. They don’t mind being arrogant to you when they very well know that they are on the wrong side of the law. I tried looking on net for an email id or a phone number of Loot where I can raise a complaint. But none is available. I know one Mr. Jay Gupta is the owner of this firm but no contact details are available on net.

Please consider this as a fomral complaint against "The Loot" Bangalore.

i am from jaipur, and i m the regular customer of the loot store, last month i buy a shirt of ecentrics brand. after its first wash it appears like beggar shirt, and when i go to store he say rudely to not change. and after this i drop the shirt in the store owner.

please judgemant me
I am from Bangalore, I went to visit the Loot store in Basaveshwaranagar branch and decided to not to visit this showroom again and inform the customers as much as possible. I got a very bad experince of service from Loot.
I had got Rs.100 voucher from Loot. So i went on watching the T-shirts. As usual there was discount on all the T-shirts from LOOT. But the rate was same after discount also when compared with any other showrooms without discount.
So i took one 3pair socks of Rs.299 which had 50% discount and i was needed to pay around 160+ with VAT.
But i was made to pay Rs.203 because i gave them gift voucher. As i gave the gift voucher the discount was turned to 25% as told by the person who billed to me. When i asked where it is written like that, he speaked with so harshly saying as it is a procedure from LOOT and it will not be shown to customers.
When i told it is not acceptable he came upon me so harshly and there was no other way then getting out from the LOOT showroom.
Think upon a customer he was showing his power.

So customers i request not to visist LOOT showroom of Basaveshwaranagar, Bangalore. If you still want to visit buy and pay the amount without any argument.
Even I went through a similar ordeal at their Andheri, Mumbai store. I had a discount voucher for Rs 100, the shirt i purchased was for Rs1199 with 50% discount. So the calculation was done like this..
[protected]gift voucher) = 1099. Then 50% discount was added, and on that amount tax was additional. This is pure cheating. First, i got only Rs 50 on the voucher as discount, secondly additional tax on MRP is illegal. STay away from Loot!
i want to know how there is discount on brands at the loot store at the
same time when there is no discount on same brands at their exclusive store
" The Loot" Store have to chage there sales staff just becous of sales staff only the store name will spoile so they should take the experiance staff ho cane do a good sales help full for customer so that will b satisefied.
