bill — Refusal to give change
9 feb 2012 11:05 @ Kothrud City pride Big bazaar. PuneReceipt no – 0009195
The bill amount was Rs. 103.
I offered the cashier Rs. 105 in cash.
Promptly he offered me two éclairs toffee.
I demanded two rupees in change, and nothing else.
When I refused to accepted the toffee, the cashier made a puppy face and told me his plight. That the shop had just opened; I was the first customer. No one else had come for billing until then.
I persisted, and said it was not the first day of the store. Surely, a lot of people shopped the previous day, and so the cash drawers were supposed to be filled with a few coins at least.
The cashier looked around and called out to his colleagues. He must have realized, I would not leave the store if he did not hand me the balance two rupees.
When none of his friends responded, he began fiddling the Eclairs section in the Cash drawer.
And from the toffee cluster below, he fished out what I was looking for. Voila, there appeared lots of coins!
I am certain; he knew all along, that coins were ‘hidden’ underneath the toffees.
When I shared this experience with my peers, almost all said to have faced similar situations
I wonder if it is part of the cashier’s training to withhold change as far as possible.
Verka — Price > M.R.P
The M.R.P on Verka Milk Packet is 16 Rs.But the shopkeeper charges 17 Rs. I go to other but he also charges 17Rs. I said him the M.R.P. is 16. He said me all shopkeeper charge 17 Rs.Verka — curd being charged higher than marked price
A shop just adjacent to Govt. Middle School Khanpur (Kharar) called mika di shop in the village is charging Rs 15 for a cup of curd instead of Rs 12 marked price. Even after arguments he is stubborn in overcharging. Please stop this corrupt practice.58%

Verka — Wrong Practices
I would like to bring few of my concern to your notice.I am residing at Modern Housing Complex, Manimajra, Chandigarh. I found following wrong practices adopted by the traders located in MHC, Market.
Please find my remarks below:
1. Most of the traders are selling the goods without invoices as normal practice. It results into wrong trade practices.
2. They are selling goods at above the MRP(mostly milk products). If, I ask for the invoice they refused to provide.
3. They don’t afraid while doing such practices; reason being there is no checks over them.
4. No replacement for wrong products and being bear by customer itself.
5. They are selling wrong products those are not good for health. For e.g. I went to the market and due to the short money, I ask the trader to provide a packet of cheese within available balance, if any. When I used the product, it has some soap like content and very bad in taste. When I asked him, he told that you get the product as per the amount paid.
Our hard earned money in small fractions is going to their pockets. If the price increases then it should be due to the increase in cost of manufacturing and not because of speculation.
For example: I bought two packets of milk thrice a day. The cost of milk as mentioned is Rs. 15.50/- (MRP) and they ask for Rs. 32/-. I am paying two rupees extra for just milk, every day. As we don’t have any option and it will definitely create problem for us in case of raising the issue, so we are compromising with the current situation.
