[Resolved]  Vijaya Electric Scooter Glide 25 Gr — Cheating with battery

Myself bought a " Vijaya Glide 25 GR" scooter on 28th June 2008 from Vijaya electric scooters authorized dealer Joys Motors in Thrissur Kerala. With in one month the vehicle has shown pulling problem, can drive only 15 KM per hour. I informed the dealer and he repaired around five times. The problem was not solved. Later Vijaya company persons itself came, repaired and problem solved. The free service was completed on 31st December 2008. Cable problem and horn problems are faced during this period. Now it was over the 17th month of purchase. Last week the scooter again shows a problem and I have informed the dealer. He request me to bring the battery to his shop and after checking the same he told me "the battery cells are fully dead and no other way to retrieve the battery". He also informed that new battery cost is rupees 9200 (Rupees nine thousand two hundred rupees). Its very unfortunate that the company battery cells are fully damaged with in 17 months. Every time I was charging the battery only through UPS system to reduce voltage variations. If I buy a new battery, what is the assurance to the life of this vehicle?. Its a cheating system because this "No resale value vehicle" costs rupees 30,000 (Thrity thousand) and the battery costs approximate (ten thousand rupees). Anybody who face the same problem please complaint To,

I need your addresses as I am filing a complaint with consumer Redressal forum, Please send replies immediately to [protected], company is cheating, My scooter batteries failed after 9 months
Hi users,

You people could have saved a huge fortune had you done some research on availability of batteries. I had same vehicle. Firstly its the style o[censored]sage that matters, I think company should educate users about it. Any Lead Acid battery will give maximum life only if it follows complete Charge and discharge cycle. If you keep battery plugged into charge, it will go away soon. If cycle is followed and battery would last about 3 years.

Secondly, Veerji battery (google it) has same battery which is put inside this scooter, but battery from them, they will give good buy back value for old battery. The net cost will not be more than Rs 3000/- I done it already and their battery had been running good for past one and half year already. The whole culprit in getting problems in this scooter is over loading, low air pressure in tyres and putting scooter continuously on charge. A 5-6 hours charge is more than enough.
