Dear Sir,

You must have noticed that from the last few months after dialing a mobile number, you niether hear a ring nor a ring tone but a lady speaking.... " To subscribe for this caller tune you need to press *dial ... number...monthly rental.... and goes on" and by this time person whose number is dialled picks up the phone.....so the end result is that neither the caller or the subscriber has any benefit of subscribing to the caller tune and paying an amount of Rs. 360 yearly.This is completely unethical advertisement, it is an advertisement at the expense of the customer and if it is not stopped right now, it can continue for ever and these telecom companies will continue this injustice on the consumer. The aforesaid case is happening with myself and my husband. So you are requested to take an immidiate action on this.

My prepaid mobile no. is [protected] in some strange way Vodafone has activated caller tune since last 2 months without any request and I am unable to talk to the customer care department as the number 111 is always busy. Every month they are charging Rs.30 for an unwanted service.
I would like to deactivate my caller tune with immediate effect and a confirmation from your side. Else, let me know why I should not go to consumer forum.

I too faced the above said problem.. To deacivate ur caller tune, send an tollfree sms in the below format:

sms CAN CT to 144 (prepaid) 111 (postpaid)

CT will be deactivated with in 5 hrs once u send request!!

Hello my no is [protected]. It is easy way to earning money by activating the caller tune. I have not made any request & even not press any button (*). Still you people activate my caller tune & detuct 45 repuees. Now please deactivate it as early as possible.

Vodafone Prepaid — Forcing caller tunes on consumers

Vodafone had automatically activated a default caller tune for all customers in december 2009 and then after 1 month, they seem to have sent an SMS, asking the customers to manually deactivate the caller tune if they don't want to have it anymore otherwise there would be monthly caller tune charges. In my case, I was not in India during this period (including the SIM card) and hence the activation of this caller tune and this SMS was not received by me and since I didn't manually deactivate it, I was charged Rs. 30 at the end of Jan'2010. I spoke to their Customer care, that this was a wrong process, instead they should have taken an explicit confirmation from the customer before automatically providing the caller tune service or atleast before making it a paid service but they don't seem to understand and refused to refund the money. I hope you can help me with getting this money refunded and also inform Vodafone to change their process accordingly.

Why do u activate caller tune without my knowledge?
30 rs have been credited from my talk time without my confirmation. For the first month vodafone provider sets the caller tune freely with just the single SMS without my confirmation. From the next month onwards it charges rs 30. What a [censored]. I am going to issue a complaint to the customer court asking for the penalty.

Vodafone — for disconnect caller tune

sir my name is manish kumar i am from punjab , distt barnala town dhanaula , i have vodafone no from last many years , sir i am in problem from vodafone , its not a problem its crime from vodafone to me, vodafone start caller tone to my mobile no [protected] at last month , i stop it by sending sms as per your coustmer care , but after one month co does not stop it now on date 8 /2 /10 , i stop it and ask to custmer care , they ask me its stop in 24 hours and give me one complait no , but on date 11/2/10 my 3 rs cut continusly , i again ask on custmer care , ur repersetive give me other complait no and ask me wait 24 hours and ,he ask me that now its close for whole life, and he feel sorry for 8/2/10, and now so shame on vodafone at 14/2/10 co cut again 3 rs and dt stop my caller tone , what can i do , after two two complait nos u dt have any responcibilty to stop it , can i go to court or go to other way or in media, whats falt of me tel me , why u dt stop it , why u cut my balance, plz give me waiver of my all money and stop it immedately, thanks manish kumar
