Dear Forum,

This is to bring to light the tricky business traps of vodafone.I have been using vodafone postpaid for years an on and off been subject to sudden high usage bills on sudden months.I have been tolerant enough to pay the bills as also the number had other conveniences like calling other in the network for free,certain amount of internet downloads free(supposedly) etc.This was until I realised one month when they charged me a sudden hefty Rs37,000 for internet usage.MY earlier high usages usually got unto rs.2000 to 3000 and if that is what the pattern was and if by rules the download is till 10 GB,then he vodafone customercare should have stopped the connection at and after 10 GB usage or at least by business ethics and principles send me a warning.If not so,at least the billing credit amount should not have exceeded rs 5000 and i should have been restricted usage unless the credit amount to my internet billing account has been paid.it is only at the end of month that i suddenly get a bill of rs 37000 which is a mere unethical business trick to fool customers and trap them in.
I am subject to the cheapness of a supposedly multi millionaire combat...wonder if this is how they make money...if they get away with on...they'll get away with this again and again.And the sufferers will be the innocent poor victimised customers who to avoid their harassment succumbs to such unethical and intentional cheap business tricks of these companies.

Vodafone — Regarding excess bill/total ussage bill which is more than the credit limit of the subscriber

Dear Sir/Madam,
With due respect i beg to submit that i Mohit Pathak, Advocate is the customer/subscriber of your company i.e. vodafone. I have taken the postpaid sim in the month of June 2008 bearing no. [protected], my credit limit is 1000 Rs. only. Thereafter, expire of near about six month my credit limit is extended upto 1300 Rs. but i have no knowledge about the extension of my credit limit. I have received the bill of amount 1489.21 Rs. which is above my credit limit. The total amount which was payable on 03.01.2009 is near about 1757.00 Rs. which is very-very above then my credit limit. I do not know the reason that when my credit limit is 1300.00 Rs. then how i can talk above my credit limit.
The two questions are framed by me: (1) Without giving any prior information to the customer/subscriber how can you or your company can increase or decrease the credit limit. If any case/circumstances you or your company can increase/decrease the credit limit of any customer/subscriber then it is very necessary to inform your concerned customer/subscriber by in writting. (2) How can a customer/subscriber can talk above its credit limit and for what reason/circumstances you or your company can not stop his/her outgoing calls.
This is my case/questions which is to be consider legally. Hence this complain has been made.

Vodafone — Excess bill forced to pay

I had a delhi number [protected].I used it last in february as i shifted to some other place.I paid my last bill worth Rs 2500 around.
In june they hired a disgusted and manner less advocate and harassed my parents by calling every there and then and asked me to pay Rs 7250 as my balance bill.
I forcefully paid my bill from pune vodafone center and mailed vodafone for my billing statement on 29 june 2009.
I had got my request number on 10 july 2009 i.e [protected].I m still following up with them but didnot get any response.they have rather stop replying to my mails.and if i call them they are as usual blank.

I really want to take strict action against them.

I have received my itemised bill from the period 28710 to 27810 which is far excess of my usage. The bill shows use of vodafone live very often which itself comes to Rs.357.70. I have never used 'vodafone live!' whereas my bill shows that i used it. Kindly re-check the bill. I will not pay the charge for 'vodafone live!' since I have not used it.

Vodafone — UNREALISTIC CHARGES IN MOBILE POSTPAID BILL AND FRAUD BY EMPLOYEE

I HAVE BEEN CHARGED HAPHAZARDLY BY THE COMPANY. I HAVE BEEN CHARGED RS. 50 FOR ITEMISED BILL EVENTHOUGH I HAVE NOT APPLIED FOR THE SAME. my complaint is regarding the exess amount charged for my no [protected] .The free internet sevice was provided to me by vodafone with 10 paisa kbps but inspite of downloading the free versions of games i have been charged excesively.I canceled the internet services on 28th may and the ppl from the call centre called me on the 5th of june said my bill was 2,800 but now when i enquired at the vodafone centre as i did not receive my bill which was due for the 7th of june and my services have also been barred ,i was told by your staff that my bill is 5,400,it is very surprising as i think i am being charged for playing the free versions of the games i downloaded.Inspite of the fact your staff says i have not downloaded the free version or i dont know what is free and what is not free.repeated request for the itemised bill fell on deaf ears,no one is ready to solve my problem and i am being told to pay the bill whatsoever .You can check my previous status ,i am ur customer for last 2 years and have always paid my bill before due date i also have atleast three connections with us from vodafone.i hope u will pay attention on my complaint as i will not be able to pay this unnecessary bill amount

Yet your billing statement of Bill period: 18.05.11 to 17.06.11 showing me charges for above free (Non bilable no.) i.e. [protected]. Here I send my billing details for your referance.

As per your customer care executive committment total charge amount i.e. 329.44 approx. will be deduct in next bill.

I am a vodafone postpaid customer and have encountered many bad services expreriences with it. my total outstanding bill as per your last information is 2,554/- but whatever charges applied me including internet charges is not accepted by me, because I had not used internet services as much you charges to me. As per my consideration you are charges approximately 1000/- extra for interest charges in total bill. Therefore I request you please waive Rs.1000/- from my total outstanding bill. Then after I will pay balance outstanding amt. which is reasonable for me.

This is regarding Vadodara postpaid number [protected]. Right now I am using Vodafone 3G plan. I have limited usage plan of 3GB per month. My billing cycle is 7th day of month to 6th of next month. Usually vodafone service provider never notify me when my 3GB is used. I already paid two times for extra surfing. This time on 6th of march I called vodafone customer care (9:14 AM & call duration was 4 m 12 s) and ask about my usage. Vodafone customer care people (Mr Pankaj) told me that as per system my pending usage is 3000 MB and I can use this free MB up to mid night (6th Mid night). He did mentioned anything about extra charge during entire conversation. This time they charged me for extra usage. I have vodafone on 12.03.2012 to 15.03.2012 five times regarding extra charge. But they refused to solve my problem and remove extra charged for their mistake. This time I will not pay extra charge for their mistake. Need justice.

on 9th April 2012 I called the costumer care & told to start the Rs-49 gprs pack ,the executive said it would be activated within two days

on next dat 10th April i got the massage that the GPRS service is activated.
then I called the costumer care for confirmation weather GPRS is activated or not, The executive said its activated you can use it.

but today on 19th aproil 2012 I got my 2nd bill in which there was no discount for GPRS usage

so I called costumer care and said about the bill, the executive said GPRS plan is actvated from 19th April & not from 10th April,
therefore no deduction are made in bill

and all my service are deactivated

I want to register a complaint against Vodafone. On 21st April, 12 i went to a Vodafone Mini Store in Ashok Vihar to port my mother's number from Idea to Vodafone. The person at the shop first told me that they would charge Rs 130 instead of Rs 19 as advertised by the company to post my number. When i told then they should Rs 19 they told me that they would charge Rs 130 otherwise they would not port it. I paid them Rs 130 and when i asked them about the bill for the same, they told me that they do not provide bill. I had an argument with them and when i told them that i would call police them only they provided the bill.

So, i would request the concerned authority to take some action against them.
I ravi gad is using a vodafone corporate no [protected] and is currently active on vodafone live unlimited plan for monthly rent of rs 99.I have been using this plan for around 8 months till april 2012 everything was going well but in the month of may I am charged with a bill of rs 11335/- Of which rs 9000 is for using vodafone mobile connect a service which I never asked for.Prior to activating vodafone live plan I mailed corporate.[protected]@vodafone.Com regarding terms and conditions for this plan but no where it was mentioned regarding any access point.I am now told due to wrong access point now I am completely charged for vodafone mobile connect.I am with vodafone for the past 2 years and my bill never crossed rs 1000/- Now I have a bill of rs 11335/-.I was never told by any vodafone representative of vodafone either verbally or through mail regarding vodafone mobile connect.So I just assume its a misleading information case from vodafone and would like to know right way to get a fair deal.

My Vodafone Post paid number is [protected]. When i checked this month bill its 1360. They have billed 15 rupees for ISD message which i didnt even do. And also the number of STD calls made also seems to be faked and its showing as i have done 1956 minutes of STD which i didnt do.

When i call the customer care he is saying that i have sent message so they charged which is not true. These money suckers are eating innocent peoples money.

I am going to cancel my SIM card which i am using for years. Usually it will be around 450 per month. But this cheaters is bluffing a lot. Had a heated argument with customer care for 15 minutes which is no use i understood.

They said he(Vijay - Customer Care Person) will arrange a call back with higher authority as he is not capable of handling this call and the request number he gave is [protected]

On 25th August I purchased a new Vodafone postpaid connection from Vodafone store. I used my number for just making calls and sending SMS, which I was told are free. Now they sent me, bill of Rs. 1249.25. In the bill they have charged Rs. 649 for internet surfing & downloading & they also charged Rs. 150 for activating some Special service of Vodafone which I hadn’t activated. And when I made a call at their customer service number and discussed about my bill issue they neglect that. Company had barred my outgoing calls. And after that they use to make me calls again and again that if I won’t pay the bill amount they would suspend my Incoming service also. I cant believe what is happening in Vodafone. I am using VODAFONE from last 4-5 years. When I saw sept month detailed bill, I stunned to see I made 5 ISD calls from my mobile and charged Rs 225/-. Call time is showing on 25th Aug, 2012. That day was saturday and I was at home. I never made any ISD calls since I don't have any person outside INDIA.

I saw many complaints like this and Vodafone is charging customers and cheating in this way.

If any Vodafone higher authority can intervene in this matter and resolve this ASAP to avoid loosing your valuable customers.

i am really very sorry to say but I don't know what the billing department is doing when i took the Vodafone connection i was using a Plan of 299/- with limit of 1000/- Rs, for three months then from your side your executive suggested me to change the plan limit up to 3500/-+ 100 Rs. For 3g Internet uses,

I immediately got agree with them to change the plan limit Maximum Up to 3500/-, on 26 Aug night I checked my account status in one night crossed the limit of 3500/ it was exceeding up to 2200, I contacted Customer Care more than 40 times but no one helped me out for this Issue, But when i received the bill of that month I was really shocked I got a bill of 7505/-. I neither have uses internet .

My concern is when yo are giving me a limit of 3500 how it can jump up to 7505/- , I am really Upset the way customer care is behaving with me , kindly look it to this matter and Solve the issue .
