[Resolved] Woodpecker Furniture, Besant Nagar, Chennai — Dismantled wardrobe unattended

I have purchased two wardrobes from Woodpecker,Besant Nagar, Chennai in December 2009. Both the pieces turned out to be inferior and were not worth its value. The hinges gave way in six months time and had to get it repaired by them.

Yesterday, as we were shifting our place of residence, had called their services to dismantle the wardrobes and fitted it in the new premises which is 500 meters away from our existing place. They came up with a bill for dismantling (Rs800/-) and just got the furniture dismantled and left the place without fitting it. They informed that someone will call on us with another bill of similar value to get it fitted. I have their service bill for Rs 800/- (bill no 5124, complaint no:10123).

Now I'm left in the lurch and searching for alternate arrangement as I need to move out of this premises.
There should be a machinery in place to take up issues with the such vendors who do not respect customers.

Even I recently bought a chair and table from Woodpecker Besant nagare 10 days back. Chair seat was slightly damaged in transit and after calling contniusly for 6 days they bothered to come and say..last piece..what do we do. After another 3 day of shouting match they took the chair replaced the seat with a similar but not same colour base and left. Now I have a brand new chair whose back and seat do not match...and they say we cannot do anything. Pre sales is good, post sales horrible. Not sure abt quality right now.

i have a bought a rocking chair with wood pecker. they guaranteed me it will bear weight more than 110 kgs. but its screws became loosen. we called them and informed. but they didnt attended the complaint till now. they offerered discount during world cup as season when india wins will give one nano as a prize. till now they say.we have not yet lucky drawn the chits. name sake given the offer it seems. to horrible. but fact
