Dear concern,
Today on 23/07/2016 i bought a token from samaypur badli metro station to anand vihar station which costs 30 rupee as per sunday fare but counter executive charged me for 40 rupee (Regular fare). Another customer before me bought a ticket to chandni chowk he charged him 60 rupee (Did not gave twenty rupee discounts on sunday).
This is not happening at one station or once in a while. It happened with me two times at two different station in same manner they are not passing discount to customers (Specially uneducated customers) as many of them are not aware about new discount system in metro.
I noticed few things on metro stations that
1- there is no display board on metro station about discount on sunday.
2- no announcement in metro regarding sunday discounts.
3- new fare charts are very small, customers not able to understand that there is any discount system (Uneducated people cant read that chart they simply trust token counter executive).
4- it is happening in a major way at crowdy stations like chandni chowk, rajiv chowk, noida.
5-metro station staff is not taking this scams seriously. But it is crores of rupee scam.
Dmrc is very reputed organization and it has served people transparently since its origin. But few bad elements are trying to break trust between customer and dmrc.
Being a lawyer and social activist i have few suggestions to make the system more transparent and more important to make customer aware about this corruption in token system.
1- we can put big display board at metro stations or in metro train about sunday discounts so that people can be aware.
2- we can make frequent announcement in metro regarding sunday discounts.
3- it shall be displayed at every counter separately in bold that on sunday special discounts are available so that every customer who is buying token can notice it. (Not as a small fare chart because it does not tell clearly about discount system)
